The Naked Party Thread

Has summer arrived, then?

How are things?

I'm stumped for inspiration for the Naked Day story comp. Don't think I'll get anything done in time. Ironic, since I've actually cycled naked in public, but since that was done in a spirit of cheerful protest and felt non-sexual, it seems to have made it harder to think of public nudity in a sexual way. Either that, or it's just that the muse is on strike.

Nah. You gotta get in the right frame of mind. Imagine stumbing upon a neighbor sunbathing in the nude, or walking a beach to find someone skinny dipping. It's all in how you look at it.

Thanks for the advice. Are you, or have you already, submitted?

Oh, you mean a hypothetical neighbour, not my real one.

Hi Beastie :D
Well, work this morning was anything but fun ... but the afternoon hasn't been half bad :)

Ah, working on a Saturday. :(

I did a bit of paid work myself this morning, tramping the streets shoving leaflets through letterboxes for a pittance. It's a sideline job I have to earn a little extra for treats.

Then in the afternoon I set up the new wireless router I've bought and got the laptop talking to it, then fixed a puncture on my bicycle.

Tomorrow, there's a falconry display at a local castle we're planning to go and see.

Hi Darlin' :kiss::rose:

Wanna be my neighbor ;)

I'd love to.

I bought a new router today myself. I thnk I'm going to love this one.

What's special about it?

I'd thought about holding out until routers with MIMO antennas came down in price, in the hope that would stretch the wireless range just far enough to reach my shed / workshop, but the balance of opinion was it would still be just too far and I went with a standard 'g' one.

If I really want internet access in my hidey hole I think I'll need to run an Ethernet cable down there.

I'm fortunate. My wireless reaches to my hidey hole. ;)

Lucky you.

A directional antenna might just do it for me. A splitter to an omni for in-house coverage, and a Yagi pointing down towards the shed. Slight breach of radio comms regs, though...

I won't tell on you, if you ever manage it. ;)

Wouldn't really affect anyone else. No houses in that direction to interfere with.

Does remind me of a tannoy announcement at work, many years ago: "If anyone is transmitting on #### MHz, please cease immediately. This is an air traffic control frequency."

Oh, for the good old days of Crown Immunity...

Hello. Yes, not many folk posting.

I suppose they're all kicking up their heels in the clubs and the pubs. I did that sort of thing for many a year in my youth. Do you frequent the night club scene or just have a tipple in the corner pub?

Neither. My socialising is mainly through hobby clubs I'm a member of, like the local amateur archaeology group. I'm married, and we do go out to the cinema and theatre (together and seperately if it's something that really doesn't interest the other). I don't have a group of friends I meet up with just to go out with, though. I can be rather a solitary person in real life - even my cycle tours are solo.

Screw 'em if they can't take a joke.

Hi, Tom.

Hi, Tom.

Things are so bloody corporate now.

There used to be some real characters on site. There was the "welly boot man" who cycled into work in shorts and wellington boots regardless of the weather - whether it be snowing or a heat wave.

Mind you, even in the Civil Service days there were rules, and daft ones that. You couldn't have a book case until you reached Principal Scientific Officer level, though you could order a "glass fronted chemical cabinet" which did the job equally well, and was seen in many an office.

Oh god, I'm reminiscing like an old fogey and I've still two weeks before I turn 40!

I'm pretty much like you are in most respects...married...have diverse interests...have my solitary times and enjoy them thoroughly.

Hi Molly. How's your step-dad, sweetie?

I'm glad for him and you. That can be mighty scary for the family in the waiting room.

It can be and it was. He looked great, though. Aside from the IV tubes, you wouldn't know that they had just cracked his chest open.
