The Chosen

(well i guess since you were so kind as to knock me outside in the DAYTIME, I'm dead pleasure writing with ya'll I'm dead.) peace out.

OOC: There ya go, retconned, we're still upstairs in the room.

Vince grunted with the force of the impact of the knee and the wall. His vison swam from the force and he saw the brother searching for his weapons. Vince grabbed the phone off the nearby table stand and yanked it free of the plug then huirled it at the man. He didn't wait to see the effect it would have on him. Vince darted forward and leaped onto the man's back as he had ducked the phone, Vince pushed off the man's shoulder and launched himself down the hallway to the stairwell and darted down. He needed to get back to his car, as he ran he pulled his coat over his head to block out the sun light. Good thing he always left the keys in the ignition.

Julius swore as he ducked the phone. The girl was long gone and he hadn't prepared himself to face a full vampire today. His blessings were not in place and he hadn't time to channel his divine energy. Julius tried to catch the man with a kick as he soared off his back, but missed. He turned to give chase, swooping down to grab his guns as he ran twoards the stairwell, firing wildly. He leapt down two flights and gave chase, hoping to catch the creature in the sunlight where he'd be vulnerable.

Vince kicked the door out and launched himsefl toward his car. He heard the Brother coming down the stairs, he had only seconds. He yanked open the car door and started it even as he shut the door. Without looking he floored the gas pedal and alunched himself backward then he through the car into gear. Shit which way did the girl go. He made a right and pushed the gas to the floor as he launched down the street.

What was a member of the Brotherhood doing there? Was he after her? or was there more than one Chosen in that college? Vince slammed his fist on the roof on the car. "Damnit." He swore.

Julius rushed out the front door to see a car with blacked out windows peeling out in reverse. Julius strode forward purposefully, firing both guns, hitting the windshield repeatedly but missing the driver. Swearing as the car took off Julius realized he'd better get out of there before his gunshots drew attention. He still had one piece of business to attend to though. He went back upstairs and searched the girl's room. He found no hints of the occult or dark magic often associated with vampiric kind. Today had been a very frustrating day he muttered to himself, feeling the pain in his back where he had landed earlier... undoubtably the girl would go to ground now, and so would Lucy if word reached her of this... he sighed. He had a long night ahead of him.

Mephistophelily said:
For mortals in the brotherhood... The heart- The main artery, or completely taking his head... A major wound to an appendage...
As for those blessed or with angelic blood- a wound to the heart will slow them.... and a beheading is the best way to deal with them. A mortal in the brotherhood can be bitten and drained, but in moderation. Angelic blood should not be touched... it burns a fullblood vampire."

Gabriel was visablly pleased. Lucy was smart. Not simply a matter of reading and learning, no, the girl's mind was just quick. It was something about her that he truely admired, and would make her very dangerous one day. Her sword moved in perfect harmony with her words, moving against his weapon in clean, even strikes. She was advancing faster then expected.

Mephistopheliy said:
May 4th. Saint George's day... Oh, waht was it- On the eve of St George's Day, when the clock strikes midnight, all the evil in the world will have full sway..."

He paused for a moment, letting the tip of his weapon drop slightly.

"And d'ya believe that one Lucy?" He asked. It was an important question and one that was not easily answered. "A Vampire is a creature o' the night. We feed off the blood of the living, some times killin' them, sometimes not. I myself have the blood of thousands on me hands. But are we evil? Are we the darkness the Brother'ood believes us to be?"

Taking a step foreword, he lowered his voice slightly. "D'ya believe me a monster Lucy?"

Lucy looked up to Gabriel as he lowered his weapon, a look in his eyes that she had never seen before. Had... she hurt him with what she had said?

"And d'ya believe that one Lucy? A Vampire is a creature o' the night. We feed off the blood of the living, some times killin' them, sometimes not. I myself have the blood of thousands on me hands. But are we evil? Are we the darkness the Brother'ood believes us to be?"

"No... No, I don't think that at all...," She said softly, shaking her head as she stared at him. "I think they're the evil ones. They've killed other Chosen, they've killed humans who've helped our kind. If we're evil, then they are a thousand times worse! There are monsters everywhere in this world... it just comes down to whose eyes you see them through."

"D'ya believe me a monster Lucy?," he asked her in a gentle voice, coming closer to her.

It hurt her when he said that. "Gabe- Of course I don't. I know you've killed before. Its in your nature, and I know there's nothing that can change that. But I don't see you as a monster because of it." She looked up at him, tears in her eyes as she suddenly ran at him, pressing her head into his chest. "I'm sorry, Gabriel. I-I didn't mean it to come off that way. I could never think of you that way. You're a vampire... but someday, I'll be one too. Its already inside me..." She sniffed a little, closing her eyes. "You're no monster, Gabe. You're my night angel, and that's what you'll always be to me."

Bart Harker

"Julius, you're a fucking idiot." Bart Harker was leaning against the wall of the campus's small chapel, having heard the sounds of gunfire from the girl's dormitory. He was flipping a small object up and down in one hand, waiting for the right moment to use it. Moments later, a dark clad figure burst from the building and dart into a car. Bart grinned, as the engine gunned, revving loudly.

He stepped away from the wall, his arm swinging out in an arc. The object he held zipped through the air to strike the car's bumper as the driver peeled out. Julius emerged a moment later. "Brotherhood amateurs," he sighed.

Technically, he was part of the Brotherhood, but that was only because the leeches finally got his parents all those years ago. No where else to go then, but to them. His younger siblings were still with the Brotherhood being trained. He just hoped they were able to keep their heads full of the proper tactics and not all the holy-holy righteous crap.

The girl wasn't a concern to him. She wasn't a vampire. Her visitor was though, which meant he had to die. As soon as possible. Bart just hoped the tracer didn't break with it hit. The technology wasn't foolproof. He reached into another pocket of his trench coat, pulling out a palm pilot. On it ws a map of the city, which then zoomed in to show a single glowing dot moving down the streets. A wicked grin came across Bart's face, "I see you, monster."

The choir boy would just slow him down. He seemed to prefer to charge in rather than plan and prepare, and when you were facing creatures as powerful as your average leech, you needed to plan and prepare. Bart ran a hand through his hair, and rolled his shoulders. It was a good day for vampire killing.

Bart looked odd in the light of the warm day; dressed in a long sleeve dark shirt and slacks, large, heavy boots, and a flowing black trench coat. It was hot, really hot. But he'd gotten accustomed to the heat in his training. He needed every bit of weapons and defensive tech hidden in the outfit. Humming Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" he started to follow the signal.

The building she was sitting against was quite old, and there was plenty of junk in the alley way. That guy could be looking for her. She figured it was best if she was out of site. The building looked like it could easily be abandoned. She sat there debating on whether it would be wise to enter a place that looked as it could be falling apart. The area seemed to be practically empty. She'd be safe in the alleyway tll night fall..

"I'm sorry, Gabriel. I-I didn't mean it to come off that way. I could never think of you that way. You're a vampire... but someday, I'll be one too. Its already inside me...You're no monster, Gabe. You're my night angel, and that's what you'll always be to me."

Gabriel blinked several times in suprise as his charge rushed into his chest, pressing her face against his ice cold skin. Dear god she was warm! The excersice had gotten her blood flowing, and has the sword feel from his grip and his arms began to slowly snake around Lucy's waist, it felt like he was holding the sun.

"I know it Luce, I know" Gabriel smiled. Her night angel. It was what she had called him since they first met, long before she understood the world of vampires or her place in it. Back then he was merely the dark man who visited her in her dreams, protected her at night and was always watching.

Sounds a bit creepy when ye say it like that...course I suppose I am a Vampire so creepy is right up me alley He mused in his own mind.

"But don't worry over it luv. Angels, demons, monsters, men, just words that only mean what ye want 'em to mean"

Leaning foreword, he pressed his lips to her forehead lightly. It had meant to be a simple, brotherly sign of affection. But the sudden taste of her flesh under his lip. He was suddenly very aware of the beautiful young man wrapped in his arms.

Feeling a slight weakness in his legs, Gabriel blinked several times, almost losing his balance. Pressing his weight foreword slightly, he leaned into Lucy even more. He could feel it...and it was close.

As he opened his mouth to speak, the sound of gunshots could be heard ringing out across the street.

"That came from the college" He growled under his breath.

Bart had followed the signal for a time, but it wasn't stopping anytime soon. The vampire was looking for something. That girl, maybe? Perhaps he should have paid more attention to her.

No point in trying to follow now. He'd have to wait until the signal came to stop and track the car down then. That was good though, maybe he could stop by the HQ in town and get a few more toys.

The area he was in was pretty quiet, not too many people about. More than most people would have thought, but most people weren't trained to keep as sharp a lookout as he was.

In fact...there was someone in the alleyway next to him. Bart took a few steps into the alley. The girl didn't look like she belonged in this neighborhood. "Hey, Miss." "Are you all right?" "You look a little spooked."

She heard gun shots and curled up a bit more.

"Hey, Miss." "Are you all right?" "You look a little spooked."

"Huh? Oh... I'm fine... Just waiting for someone.."

The guy seemed kind enough. He didn't belong there either.

"I heard gun shots.. What exactly is going on over there?" she said softly.

Lucy smiled up at him as he kissed her forehead, though it was quickly replaced by a surprised yelp as she heard the gunshots. "Oh, shit- Emily!" She looked up at him, grabbing her vest from the floor as she explained. "That girl, in the courtyard today- I think she's a chosen as well. I felt something weird when I was around her..."
She pulled her vest on, running to the door and glancing out it quickly. "The storm's passed..." She frowned at him, then opened the door a bit. Damn, and she had really been enjoying the way things had been going, too...

Her eyes widened as she spotted Emily further up the way from Gabe's door, glancing up as some guy rounded the corner. She closed the door quickly, looking back to her guardian. "Found her. So did someone else."

She opened the door again, trying to keep a smile on her face as she ran down the alleyway. "Emily! Hey! Em!" She waved her hand at her, the smirk still on her face as she looked to the man. She could feel the blessed items on his person. Great. Well, 50 50 chance on him not realizing who she was...

She saw Lucy come out of nowhere.

"Emily! Hey! Em!"

"Oh.. Hi Lucy!"

She smiled and played it off. She had the feeling that somehow she was here to save her. The feeling she'd gotten earlier said it all..

"Glad you found me.. I was starting to think you'd never come.."

"Huh? Oh... I'm fine... Just waiting for someone.." "I heard gun shots.. What exactly is going on over there?"

Bart shrugged, "I don't know," he lied. "It looks like it's over." "Some lunatic chased another guy out of the girl's dorm, then they both ran off." Could this be the girl that had been in the room Julius had raided? What was it about her the choir boy was interested in?

He held out a hand to help her up, "I'm Bart." "You want an escort back to campus?" He looked around, "This isn't the safest neighborhood, is all."

Then a door opened, another girl leaning out of it. She seemed to balk when she noticed him. Huh. Was that just cause of how he was dressed or something else? Leaning out on the sun like that, she was no leech. "Emily! Hey! Em!"

Bart suddenly felt nervous. There was something going on here. His parents had always told him to trust his instincts. "Is this the person you were waiting for?"

"Sorry I'm late. I had to check up on a few things." Lucy offered her hand to Emily, glancing to the man a second, then quickly shook her head and let some hair fall into her face, trying to hide herself a bit more.
"Why don't we go get that coffee, eh?"

"Sorry I'm late. I had to check up on a few things." "Why don't we go get that coffee, eh?"

"Oh.. Sure.. I know this lovely place in town.."

This might be crazy enough to work.. She got a hint from her eyes that they were trying to get away from this man and she had been pretty good in her drama class back in highschool. She smiled and walked over to Lucy waving to the man..

"Thanks for the consideration sir.. This world needs more people like you.."

They'd walked off a bit before she breathed a sigh of relief.

"Please explain once we get out of voice range.." she whispered..

Draken had decided to take another walk, having spent much time studying the ancient texts with his technicians. He shook his head, trying to clear it. They had found very little on the subject, and he wondered if it was intentionally concealed. Which would make sense, if it were important enough to keep hidden. He walked quietly, without purpose and without direction for a long time. He eventually ended up near the college.

"...Yeah. I'll try," Lucy whispered. "Is, ah, he still back there? I can't exactly turn around right now." She rolled her shoulder forward a bit, trying to hide herself as best she could in that vest. Damn, she should've worn a coat today...

Of course, the two main things on her mind were to get Emily away from that Holy Brother... and to keep her own ass safe. She really didn't want to get into a fight right in broad daylight- especially if she had an untrained, uaware Chosen with her. "At night... do you feel.... Different?," She asked suddenly, her voice a soft whisper. "Like you could do damn near anything?"

"...Yeah. I'll try," Lucy whispered. "Is, ah, he still back there? I can't exactly turn around right now."

"I don't think so.."

"At night... do you feel.... Different?," She asked suddenly, her voice a soft whisper. "Like you could do damn near anything?"

"Are you kidding? I feel like superman at night. I've been that way since I was a kid.. I usually use it to help myself study for school and get my work done. It's why I'm usually so sleepy in the morning.."

*Ha. That explains it.... She must not have a Guardian... They would've taught her how to handle all that extra energy..* Lucy only nodded, still looking at the ground.
"I think I might know what's wrong with you. See, I've kinda got the same problem." Explaining it was going to be hard....
She glanced up long enough to see Draken pacing before the college. Lucy could tell he was a vampire. The feeling that raced down her spine from being near him- it was similiar to the way Gabe made her feel whenever he was watching her. That, and those eyes. Behind them was someone that had seen decades pass like hours. She could almost count them when he had looked at her before.

"Mister Draken's back." She gave a nod towards him, then glanced to her. "You think he's a bit strange?" A soft smile came to her.

"I think I might know what's wrong with you. See, I've kinda got the same problem."

"Mister Draken's back." "You think he's a bit strange?"

"Of course he is.. He's one of them.."

She saw a look of shock cross Lucy's face.

"A guy showed up at my dorm room.. He started telling me I was a child of darkness or something. A vampire.. He was one too.. Then this guy busted down the door and started attacking him and I jumped out the window to escape. I ran all the way to where you found me. I'm just really really confused.."

She'd spoken these words as if she was a bit lost.

"Maybe you could help me.."
