The roots are mellower if dug up before the plant flowers.

Dandelion root tea is also good. Again, not bitter if the plant isn’t flowering and the leaves are lighter green.

No! Wild lettuce is not great. Unless you enjoy the subtle taste of latex and old pennies.

Supposed to be. Knocked a big chunk off a birch several years ago at the cabin. Dried it and I might have enough for the rest of my life.
