Erectile dysfunction advice needed

I’m not old (60) but I’ve been in a sexless marriage for several years and I’m pretty depressed about it. I’ve been drinking more than I should and am also on blood pressure meds so what was once a fierce erection is almost nonexistent. I’ve reached the point where I might want to step out but this condition has really shattered my confidence. Even masturbating is difficult. I’ll be seeing my MD in a month or so and I’ll bring it up with him. In the meantime I’m considering getting some toys but am unsure what to get (Prostate toys? Rings?). I’m also considering trying an erotic massage to see if that could get things going. Any thoughts on the subject are greatly appreciated.
Erotic massage is always nice. It is great to have another human being touch you. If you are just starting with AMPs you probably expect a HJ, but there is always some anticipation, will she, won't she? Anticipation can produce results in and of itself. Try to find a parlor with younger better looking women visual stimulation always helps too.

I’m 62M, have been taking generic Viagra for a couple years. There’s nothing shameful about it. For me, I can sometimes get hard without it, but if I absolutely positively want to have a hard-on, I pop the pill about 2 hrs before showtime. Having a hard cock when you want it because you took a pill is thirty bazillion times better than not.

BTW I’ve changed my diet dramatically, lost 40 lbs, am way more physically active than a year ago, but I still take BP meds and a few other heart related things. I drink very occasionally but I smoke weed regularly. I’m trying to get off the meds with lifestyle changes. It’s tough because the docs are extremely reluctant to tell you to stop taking your meds, even if you’re managing your body in a healthy way. What I’m trying to say is maybe the meds are causing my ED, but I take the Sildenafil anyway, and it works like a champ. Guaranteed boner. Get the pill.

Agree with you! The BP meds and others impact ED - restricting blood flow. And yes, once you are on the meds, the doctors do not want to pull you off of them. Grrrr.

Definitely cut back or eliminate the booze. Get in shape, and you might want to try cannabis. I find that a gummy or a few hits of good weed can stimulate sexual arousal.

I give a second to BabyBoomer50’s reply. I’m 59 and don’t touch alcohol, take any medications, stay fit, and keep a vigorous workout schedule. The few times I’ve tried marijuana were pretty amazing. Not for the high I experiences but the condition and duration of my hard-on. My wife called for a time out. In her words, I gave her pussy a marathon workout.

if all else fails suck it soft and like it.

Allergies and antihistamines don't help.
I'm not sure about antihistamines, but decongestants are definitely counterproductive.

The erectile tissue in the penis is very similar to the tissue in the nasal airway which makes your nose stuffy. They both fill with blood and swell. An erection is congestion of the dick. So decongestant medication can really fuck with that.

Lots of good advice in this thread. Here's mine: get a handle on your depression, first. Everything else is a coping mechanism. Fix the core problem - I think that you're depressed.

I have ED too.. Its so bad I cant even masturbate...And Viagra isnt covered by my Prescription Drug benefits and its so damn expensive.

Hate to be a broken record, but still recommend what I said in post #27 in this thread. I.e. a vacuum pump and cock ring.

My Urologist gave me a prescription club card that allows me to get my preferred drug for approx. $20 in generic form. Food for thought.

I get 30 100mg pills of sildenafil for $19.99 at Costco. Sildenafil is a prescription generic for Viagra and I find it very, very effective. I break the pills in half, so yielding 60 pills. Take 50mg a couple of hours before show time. It works very well for me.

It's also covered by medicare and other heath insurances . . . .

It's always a good idea to speak with a healthcare professional if you're experiencing ED. They can help determine the underlying cause and recommend appropriate treatment options. Stress and anxiety can contribute to ED, so finding healthy ways to manage stress, such as exercise, meditation, or talking to a therapist, can be beneficial. Depending on the underlying cause of your ED, there are various treatment options available, including medications, therapy, and lifestyle changes. You can read more about it on Canadian pharmacy site. Your doctor can help you determine the best course of action.
