Chris looked at Charlene and then heavenward, "She's a tough cookie. It is beautiful, Charlene."
They all began to walk towards the receptionists desk, Chris asking, "I suppose you have product recommendations."
"Uh huh," she replied grinning, "you know the drill. Her hair is thick, so I would recommend this line of shampoo and this conditioner."
"OK," Chris said easily, "Could you bag that up for us?"
Charlene got a small bag and put several bottles inside. She handed it to Tessa with a few instructions as Chris signed off on the bill. He took out his wallet and tipped Charlene and Trish generously.
Chris turned back towards Tessa, and almost froze. She was simply beautiful. He gazed at her talking to Charlene, overhearing quiet words behind him, "I know that look. Mmm hmm."
Chris looked over his shoulder at them, "thank you ladies, good evening."
He walked over to Tessa, and asked, "ready?"
She nodded and they exited, walking to the car. As they pulled out, he commented, "Head to toes, one stop at the shoe store and we are done."
Chris looked over at her and saw her face, "hey, what's the sad face for? Your hair looks amazing."
He caught himself. He was ernestly concerned. Why? This was for business and she was his.. assistant. But the words of the ladies at the salon came back to him. "How am I looking at her?" he wondered, "or more to the point, how do I feel about her?"
