Maria and her older brother lived alone together, their parents had been killed in a car accident when Maria was 14 so her older brother decided he would take her in, she was now 18 and he was 27. Secretly she was in love with her brother, the only problem was he had a girlfriend that he adored but one that she hated and that seemed to hate her just as much, aside from that she knew her brother's lifestyle he was a dominant she had peeked in one night and noticed the porn he was watching and she had been curious so she went and looked up some things and realized she would love that have that with him, something was wrong with her she knew that this was her older brother, she was his baby sister, he would never look at her that way, and she was a virgin she had nothing to offer him. She got into an argument with his girlfriend one night and her brother, of course, took up for the girlfriend, she was manipulative and knew how to work him, with her feelings hurt, she stormed out and decided to go for a drive to cool off, her brother had no idea that she would get into her car accident and at the same time realize his girlfriend had been the one being mean to Maria, another thing he would learn is that she would lose her memory, not knowing him or anything else, she would still know how to do things, but nothing else, and he would lie and pretend he was her husband because secretly he craved his little sister as well, plus he thinks for some reason lying would make things easier.

The sister drives off and gets in a accident and he finds out that the girlfriend caused all the issues and the sister is who loses her memory

Arnold Marshall had been in his office at the Accounting firm when he had gotten the word of his sister's accident. She had been upset after having an argument with his girlfriend Candace and drove off angry. He knew his sister well enough to know that she didn't handle anything well when she was angry and apparently that included driving.

After getting the afternoon off from his boss, he immediately left work and headed to the hospital to find out the extent of what had happened. Candace met him there and tried to beg and plead she had no idea what had happened. He ignored her for the most part. He had an anger issue too and often said things he would regret in anger. Candace was his slave and wore his collar, but he wasn't sure this was teh right fit anymore for the two of them. He wasn't sure Candace truly understood the meaning of being a slave. She had surrendered to him to escape her own life, rather than growing in what she had. Regardless, all that could wait...

"She is in from 312. One visitor at a time." The nurse had said and Arnold looked to Candace and said, "You stay here."

She nodded and he headed back to the room. She had been banged up pretty good with bandages and splints on her unconscious body and it nearly tore him in two. He sat next to her and touched her side whispering, "Bub is here.... Come out of it...."

"Are you Arnold?" A man said from the door.

Arnold spun around to see a doctor in a white frock standing there looking at him. He was in his mid 50's, thin, with a beard. He nodded, "Yes."

"They found a card in her purse that gave instructions to reach out to you is how we found you... and you are her emergency contact." He explained, "We have troubling news sir... can we talk."

Arnold stepped away from his sister and the doc said, "She is fine for the most part, most of her injuries are superficial... however... she took quite a hit to the head and is in a coma. We don't know the extent of the damage till she wakes up... if she wakes up."

Arnold began to sob again as he turned and went back to his sis... sat next to her and waited.... waited for a miracle.

Of course, her brother would believe his bitch of a girlfriend, slave whatever he considered her this time, god she hated this woman, she thought to herself as she got in her car, she knew why her brother sometimes treated her the way he had, it was all because of her parents, and she honestly did not blame her, considering they treated her like a spoiled princess and him like dirt. However he never once heard how she defended him and how often she walked away saying she hated them, he knew none of that because she kept it to herself, she loved her brother, rather worshipped him, and yet she knew deep down he hated her and then he had to raise her on his own, she would hate her to hell she did. Anger had poured out of her as she finally stopped biting her tongue and told Candace exactly what she thought of her and that her brother was too damn good for her, none of that mattered anyway her brother always sided with her, because Candace always painted her in a bad picture and considering everything he always listened to her never once believing anything she had to say.

She hated her, she hated her life, she hated her parents, and then felt guilt because they had died in a car accident what kind of person thought like that she wondered to herself. She had her music full blast as she tried to calm herself down, she did not want the life she was handed yet here she was. Her heart was racing in the car and though there wasn't much traffic it was late, and she was upset, she was not the greatest when angry, in any situation, but this was not much different she thought to herself. She rolled down the window trying to regain her composure. She thought to herself that Arnold would be better off without her there in his home, she had to move out that was all there was to it. Sure she was in college and only had a part-time job, and even though she had an inheritance she did not want to touch it, she felt it was blood money. She sighed to herself, Arnold deserved to live a life of peace and her being there was anything but that. She bit her lip as she drove with really no destination in sight.

When she got home she would tell Arnold what was on her mind, she knew he would argue with her out of guilt, but she was not going to have any of that. It broke her heart to think of not being under the same roof as him, but she was also tired of feeling like she ruined his life. She felt tears in her eyes, at everything they had been through over the past 4 years together, but also felt his hate as well, she just could not stand it anymore or stand being under the same roof as Candace, and she knew for damn well that would never change.

She took a deep breath and brushed her tears away. Fuck that she thought to herself, she was doing what was best for the both of that she had no reason to cry deep down she knew it was what Arnold wanted as well. Anger fueled her once again as she started to speed, no one was really on the back road she thought well at least that was what she thought.

She had never seen it coming. She had never seen the car coming right at her, on the wrong side of the road.

She never imagined she was going to die like this, it was as if everything was happening in slow motion. She never knew that someone driving on the wrong side of her would do her in, she never knew her anger would cause this. She never knew she would never see her brother again.

She screamed, everything was happening so fast, and she tried to swerve to avoid the car coming at her, but it was happening so quickly that her reflexes weren't good enough. Instantly the car crushed hers, she couldn't even see what kind of car it was.

And as she felt herself drifting away from the living seeing darkness all she thought about was her brother, her love for him, and how sorry she was for everything. Everything she had made him suffer through because of her.

Everything then went black and she was simply gone...

Arnold sat quietly for nearly 6 hours waiting on some kind of activity... anything from his helpless sister laying there with brain diodes attached all over her head tracking her brain activity which seemed to be holding, but not very active.

After 6 hours, he heard the doctor walking into the room saying, "How is our patient?"

Arnold looked to him and said, "She is unconscious still... that brain reader thing hasn't changed...."

The doc walked over and looked at the lines tracking her brain and studied them a minute. He could see this was little more than a delay tactic though... he was building himself up to say something. He didn't know what any of it meant about the brain and being monitored so the heavy demeanor seemed ominous to him. Arnold said, "What is it?"

The older man turned and looked to Arnold and he steeled himself for what he was about to say. The doc said, "Son, do you see this line here?" He pointed to one of them that was completely straight and unmoving. Arnold nodded and the doc said, "That is her brain activity. She has none. Her autonomous parts of her brain... the parts that keep her body breathing and her heart beating are the only parts that are working. Her brain is still alive... just deep hibernation."

"Okay... that doesn't explain why you look like don't want to tell me something...." Arnold said calmly.

The doctor said, "Well son... the longer she stays this way, the more likely the autonomous parts of her brain will shut down and she will die. I would say, if she doesn't come out of it in the next week... she most likely won't come out of it. I am sorry son."

"Don't call me that. No one calls me that..." Arnold said with a hint of anger.

The doc hesitated and said, "I am... sorry. We will keep an eye on her as always, but if she is to come out of it... it has too be from her...." With that, he slipped out of the room and onto his next round.

Arnold looked back at her with such torn and conflicted emotions with her. All he could really remember of her was how they had been so close at first when they were so very young... how their mom had always seemed to ooh and aah over her and barely acknowledge him save holidays and birthdays. Oh sure she did her civic duty for her son, making sure he was well fed and cared for, educated and provided for... it was a lot like the way that Harry Potter boy was treated in home of his Aunt and Uncle and cousin. the cousin was always treated so well and he like dirt.

His father hadn't been much better either with the old school belief that men had to be tough as nails in order to get through while he treated Maria like a little princess. As they got older, he started acting out in and out of school, getting kicked out of several private schools and even a boarding school before he eventually bailed them entirely. On Maria's 16th, she had gotten a brand new sports car with custom paint and features... while he got a gift card for dinner for his own. This was the difference that he had learned to expect and loathe.

A part of him hated his sister more than anything because she just ate it up as a kid. Sure, she may not have fully grasped what was going on... but when a person gets shot in the gut, did it matter that the person wielding the gun intended to hurt you or not? You are still hurt regardless of intentions.

Yet, there was a part of her that he still loved. His parents were dead and as he expected, they had left him 10K from their millions and left her with everything else nearly $50 million in cash and assets. He had grown so cold and hostile about that it didn't even bother him much anymore, but he still loved her deep down. She was literally the only person left on this planet he was related too and so there he stood. He would be there for her to wake up and then when she did, he would be about his way in life like he always had...

He whispered into her ear, "If you are in there... if you can hear me... the doctor's can't help you. Only you can help yourself. You need to fight and come back to the world of the living. I will be here waiting for you.... come back sister.... please."

She felt she was in and out of it, everything was white yet dark at the same time she felt as if she was floating was this what it was like in between she wondered she knew she was not dead but she didn't feel very alive either.

She could hear voices but did not know where they were coming from.

She thought was her doctor, and her brother... it was vague to her everything was, the white light, the dark light everything was spinning.

She knew this was her fate, she was slowly dying, but was she? The voices were not completely loud and she could only make out bits and pieces of what was being said. She knew she had to wake up, wanted to wake up, but also knew there was nothing for her to wake up for.

All she would wake up to was the brother who hated her, in which she could not blame him. There were a lot of things her brother did not know, yes she had been spoiled, and yes she had gotten anything she wanted, but she did not act spoiled, she had even argued with her parents about their treatment of her brother, but she always refused for him to know that, he hated her enough, and the night of the accident she had gotten into it with their parents telling them she hated them and hated the way they treated Arnold and the way, they made Arnold hate her.

There were so many things Arnold could not know, would not know, it was also how she loved him, and he could never know that either, well yes a sister should love her brother, but her love for Arnold was so much more than a sisterly love.

That love didn't matter he didn't want her, and he never did, he hated her, and it was warranted, so here she was floating in between life and death.

She heard a voice telling her to come back, but she didn't want to, there was no need, yet the voice sounded desperate, and she slowly started to come back.

Arnold watched and waited for hours... being interrupted only by Candace who had decided she was going to go home around midnight. He gave her the keys and headed home discouraged because she hadn't been able to convince him to go with her. She wasn't going to go anywhere... the doctors would let him know the moment she woke.... he was exhausted and needed some sleep.... none of the excuses worked for him so she resigned herself to sleeping alone in that bed for the first time since they had slept together.

The big man returned to Maria's room and found himself back in the chair that folded out into a futon. It was quite literally the world's worst bed he had ever tried to rest in... but rest he did, leaving only long enough get food, go to the restroom, and check on Candace. For nearly a week, he sat in that room with his sister and several times a day, lean directly over her and plead with her to come back to him. He wasn't going anywhere and she needed to come back to him.

He had the doctors and nurses come see her regularly and not noticing any real difference... a slight increase in brain activity for the most part but little more. It was on the 6th day of the wait when she finally started to look like her brain was coming out of the deep sleep into regular sleep. It was then when he had another talk with the doctors about the condition of her mind.... "She was coming out of the danger zone... but we don't know what she will be like when she wakes... she may have amnesia or serious brain trauma.... something...."

Of course this is not wanted Arnold wanted to hear and on the 7th day of her coma, he watched with exhilarating excitement as she started to wake up slowly... her head shifted back and forth, she moaned and groaned... then... to his horror and to the doctor's fear, Maria looked directly at him as her eyes adjusted to the light.... and said, "Who... are all of you people?" She had no idea who her own brother was.....

It was still hard for her to return to her brother, she was in and out of light and dark, and it felt like she was in purgatory. She did not want to wake up and deal with her brother fawning over Candace the girl who hated her and made her life hell and yet her brother could never see that, and or did not want to see it. She was a lot of things but a liar was not one of them.

What was the point in returning to a life she hated, what did she have school, sure she enjoyed that she could not wait to be a veterinarian it was the only thing she looked forward to, she would return to a brother that she adored but loathed her well at least hated her, a girl who wished she did die in the accident.

She could once more hear the doctors and nurses talking to Arnold, and in that instant, she knew what she was going to do, it was not going to be her best idea but it was all she had, she could not lose the only person in her life she only ever loved, was it wrong fuck yes did she care hell no.

She awoke and holy hell did her entire body hurt, she looked around the room and tried to let herself adjust to the bright light of the hospital room. "Who.. who are you people." She asked her voice cracking, she knew damn well who her brother was and where she was, but he did not need to know that right now. She did not want to take advantage of him this way or lie to him, but she wanted him and she hated that he always blamed her for the way her parents treated him she was a kid she did not ask for that and she tried letting him know that numerous times, he was not mean to her per se but it was evident he would never care for her as much as she did for him, so here is where she would start her plan.

The doctor glanced over to Arnold and back to her saying, "My name is Doctor Roger Evans. You are at the First Cox Medical Hospital in the ICU unit. You were in a terrible accident that had put you into a coma for over a week."

Arnold walked over to Maria and said, "It's me... Arnold... your brother." He reached for her hand only to have her pull away hesitantly.

The Doc Evans said, "Son... don't rush her just yet. Ma'am... do you not recognize this man by your bed?"

Arnold watched her eyes shift to the doctor and back to him then shake her head. Arnold's heart broke! She had amnesia just like the doctor warned! His lip trembled and he put his hand to his face, the pain he felt for her clear and evident to all in the room.

Doctor Evans said, "Son... tell you what... let's give her a little space for now. Do you mind stepping out of the room for a little while while we get all the diodes off her head?"

He looked at his sister and with a few tears in his eyes... he never fucking cried... he backed away and said, "Umm... sure... yeah.... I will be right outside...." He pointed to the door.

Roger said, "Son, she isn't deaf, just can't remember anything."

He waited for Arnold to leave and he called the nurses in and said, "We need to run a few tests on you to see how badly your are hurt. I promise you that you are completely safe here with us."

The nurses walked in and began to remove diodes and run their tests....

Arnold stood outside pacing past the window anxiously....

She looked at the man they called Arnold and then back to the doctor as he spoke, she had to be careful in how she went about all this to make sure she was doing all of this just right to make it believable. She nodded her head when the doctor told her she was in the hospital in the ICU unit, she remembered the accident and her heart started to race, she remembered being in and out seeing a white light but telling herself to go back. "Accident." She said softly and looked away from everyone trying to regain her composure and play her part.

She looked at Arnold and felt bad about the way that he was looking at her, it seemed as if he cared for a moment, then again she knew he cared but she wanted him not to hate her anymore. As he reached for her hand she quickly pulled it away and inwardly she felt horrible, but quickly covered that up not wanting to betray what she was going to do and how horrible of a person she must be to lie to her brother this way.

She looked back up and met the doctor's eyes when he spoke to Arnold. Oh, how she wanted to say of course she knew who the man beside her bed was, but if she wanted to have her brother she felt as if this was the only way, even if it broke her heart in doing so.

She felt bad when she shook her head no and she could see that it cut right through Arnold. She was not sure why he looked so hurt, half the time he didn't even want to be in the same room as her. What she was doing was so fucking wrong. The way he was acting was a shock to her, he didn't care about her this way before the accident she thought to herself, as she fought back her tears.

She felt like the lowest person on the totem pole for what she was doing to her brother, but it felt right to her all at the same time. She closed her eyes trying not to let Arnold see how upset she was because then he might suspect something.

The look and the pain in her brother's eyes hurt her more than she ever thought possible he had no idea just how much his little sister loved him, not just loved him, wanted him as her own, wanted him to own her... wanted what he had with Candace, hell how many times had she wanted to be Candace she thought to herself. She knew there must be something wrong with her but she did not care she could not help the way she felt about him.

She sighed to herself as she watched him walk out of the door with the doctor.

"Okay." Was all she said as her heart was pounding against her chest as she awaited the nurses to do their job and tried not to think about how she was lying to not only her brother but to her doctor as well.

Her mind was a whirlwind of emotions, and confusion and for a moment she thought of stopping her lies, but she had to go through with this... she felt it was the only way.

Arnold eventually left the hallway outside the door and pulled out his phone and called up Candace. "Hey babe... she is awake...."

He heard her gasp and say, "Tha.... that is a good thing right? Why do you sound so sad?"

"She has.... amnesia." He whispered and wiped away his tears and leaned on the wall.

"Oh my god..." Candace said out loud but in her mind, felt a sense of relief. She feared if her Master ever learned about the specific argument that led Maria to taking that fateful drive, he might never forgive her.... but if she has amnesia, she couldn't recall it and thus be safe. She said, "What else is wrong with her?"

Arnold said, "Doctors are checking her out now.... they will let me know when she is able to see me."

"Do you want me to come get you baby? You been up there a week now.... " She said hesitantly. Last time she suggested it, he snapped at her.

"It... depends... I mean... if she can't remember me, then she...." Arnold hesitated as a thought raced through his mind. If she was suffering from amnesia, could he use that to somehow... get his half of the inheritance? He had gotten a lousy 10K from his mom and dad and Maria got all the rest... $50M in assets and cash. He was pretty sure there was something about being in right mind to make legal contracts binding, but.... he really only needed her signature... if they could....

"What is wrong baby?" Candace said calmly hoping for the best.

Arnold said, "Umm... umm nothing. I ... it's nothing."

"Don't lie baby... it doesn't suit you." She said calmly on the phone.

"I got to go for now... doctor is walking up. I will keep you posted. Love you." He hung up as Doc Evans walked up and he said, "Well... how is she?"

"She definitely has amnesia. Poor girl can't even remember her own name it seems." He said.

"How... how long will that last you think?" Arnold said calmly.

"Depends on the patient. Sometimes it only lasts a few days other times it never comes back." He said and put his hand on his shoulder saying, "Son, does she have her parents to notify?"

"Mom and Dad died a few years back.... plane crash." He said.

"I... I am so sorry to hear that. so you are the only family?" HE asked.

"Apparently. We weren't really all that close the last couple of years.... but she is my only sister and I don't want to lose her either." He said calmly.

"Well... she is resting now... so perhaps you can go see her and see if you can jog her memory...." He said calmly to Arnold.

The brother nodded and turned to the hospital room, knocking twice before saying, "It's me... Arnold. May I come in?"

She was tired of Arnold hating her and blaming her for everything, the only thing she had done wrong was be born just like him and that was not her fault she even told her parents she wished she had never been born, it was what caused the argument the night of the accident. She just wanted a few moments to herself, but that hadn't happened since she woke up.

She felt broken when he left the room, he only cared because there were people around, she knew he hated her, and she thought about how much that truly broke her heart. That was really why she was coming up with the scheme she had going through her head at the moment even if she was not that type of person at all.

She asked the nurse for some water, and she handed it to her carefully and she smiled and thanked her as she took a long drink. She felt like she was on a downward spiral, but she loved her brother and all she wanted and needed was him and somehow she was going to have him.

There had to be something wrong with her for even thinking about going through with this. She chewed on her lip, it was not just the scheme she thought to herself it was more the fact that she not only mentally wanted her brother, but she wanted him sexually as well what the hell kind of person was she? Her heart was racing she was overthinking this and if she did that she would not be able to follow through.

The nurse noticed her touching her head and got worried, but Maria assured them it was just a headache and the doctor told her that would be normal and gave her something.

She closed her eyes and took another long deep breath deciding this was just something that had to be done. Oh, it was a known fact now, she was surely going to hell when this was all said and done... but for her brother, she would gladly burn there.

She started thinking about other things, she had no one I mean she had friends, but Arnold was her only family if she went through with the facade how would any of this work she wondered, hell she thought she was just going to play this by ear. There was so much she wanted to tell Arnold, about the night of the accident, about how she always stood up for him, and that at the end her parents hated and said awful things to her because she was sure they found out her true feelings for her big brother... but she was not ready for any of that right now. She did not care about the money that they left her, she felt it was blood money, but he did not know that either. She was fighting back fresh tears, yes it had come to this she thought to herself.

She had the sweetest nurse who was doting all over her. "You will be okay my dear, I know none of this isn't easy, but hey that young man out there seems to truly care for you." The nurse said softly and all she could do was nod, even if she knew that was the biggest lie anyone had ever said to her not that it was the nurse's fault it wasn't as if she knew after all.

"Yeah. You're right." It was the best Marie could come up with.

She was not right but she would never paint Arnold in a bad picture to another person, he had gone through enough she thought to herself. She sighed inwardly because of me she added.

"Thank you." She smiled at the nurse. "Call me Teresa." The nurse said with a gentle smile as she patted her hand. She wanted to cry at the kindness, but she did not.

She looked away becoming slightly tired how in the hell was she going to keep up with this lie she wondered to herself, she was never a good liar but she had already faked the hardest part right she thought to herself.

She looked around the room, and then went back to her thoughts as to how she was going to pull all of this off once more and then decided fuck it let's just play it all by ear.

She was tired of denying her wants, tired of being treated like she was some monster, tired of Candace, stupid cunt she thought to herself, it wasn't her fault though she would more and likely be the same way if she belonged to Arnold as well, no she would have never treated people that way, she had been spoiled yet, bratty at times yes, but never cruel, or mean and she would do anything for anyone.

She sighed why did everything have to be so fucking complicated.

She rolled her eyes and reached for her water, suddenly her mouth felt dry once more, she knew that was normal from the medications.

Yes, this was going to happen... she knew it was wrong, and she may lose him forever but she also felt this was her only way.

The nurses finally left the room after making sure she had everything she needed and explaining the call button should she feel any pain, or if she needed more water or something to eat.

Showtime she thought when she heard her brother's voice.

"Yes.." She said softly and watched as he walked into her room and she smiled as best as she could, if she was going to make this work it had to look very realistic.

Arnold peeked his head in and asked if he could come in and when she said yes, he couldn't help but smile slightly. He wasn't sure she would even want to see him after all this time. He had been such a disappointment to their parents and figured the same with her. He had heard them bitch and complain about him to Maria in the past and well... the fruit didn't fall far from the tree. The fact that she was a millionaire now and him practically a pauper was all the truth he needed.

What he really wanted to know more than anything at the moment was what triggered her to drive off like she had. From what Candace had told him, Maria had been pissed about something she had done... and when Candace had tried to reasonably talk through the issue, she had stormed off in a huff and sped away. He had no idea of the specifics though... he had always believed that there was three sides to a story, his side, her side and the truth.... he doubted he would ever get the truth now with her memory gone.

He stepped into the room and said, "Hi... umm... I got you something...." He reached to the small table next to his chair and picked up a stuffed Koala bear holding a baby Koala and said, "I know you like Koala's so .... here..." Of course, she loved them when she was like... 12... now that she was 18, who knew.

He watched her take the koala and stare at it a moment then look to him and studied him curiously. He said, "Do you... remember me now? I am your brother?"

Arnold could see she was genuinely trying to remember, but seemed to be falling short. Her eyes lowered to the stuffed bear and hugged it. He sat down next to her and said, "I don't know how much of this your recall, but I am your brother. We are all each other has anymore. Mom and Dad passed away in a plane crash a few years back..." It was a bit odd that she didn't seem too shocked to hear that though. If she had had no memory, would that not have been shocking to learn both parents were dead?

He looked into her eyes once more and said, "What ... can you remember? What happened?"

His smile was one of the many things she had loved about him, though he did not share it with her often enough she thought to herself. Okay time to pretend again and try not to fuck the whole thing up she thought to herself. If her brother only knew how much he meant to her, that would have to wait she thought to herself all in due time. She never went along with anything they said, and she didn't defend him when she knew he was around but any time he left the room, she let them have it with both barrels she did not want him to hate her but at the same time she could see why he did. She was going to give her brother everything in due time, but there was a part of her that never trusted Candace it was the entire reason she had always held off on signing anything over to him in the first place, she could not tell him that either.

She looked at him carefully as if studying as if she was seeing him for the first time, not as a brother but as more, but more had been what she had so longed for. She wished here and now she could tell him all of it, how she was in love with him, how she had always loved and respected him, all the times she told her parents to go fuck themselves and that she hated them too, how she told them they could never by her affections, and how the night of the accident she told them she planned on leaving, she, of course, had nowhere to go, but she wanted away from the people that hurt the one person she had always loved and wanted, she wanted to tell him she was sorry, and that she wished he did not hate her, that she did not choose to be born, she wanted to tell him about Candace... but she couldn't, he probably would not believe her anyway, even if she had some proof in some of this. She looked at him gently.

She blushed and smiled at him, she wanted so badly to say that she was surprised he remembered she wondered if he would see the joy in her eyes as he handed her the stuffed animal. "It's beautiful, thank you." She said as she looked up at him, god she was evil for what she was doing, if he didn't hate her now he would later. "I love it." She smiled and held it.

She looked at the koala and then curiously up at him and gave him another kind smile. She looked at him when he asked if she remembered him she knew she should admit that she did but she couldn't she was going to follow through with her plan. "I--I'm sorry I don't." She stuttered out.

She felt so bad for doing this to him, but she had been hurt as well, by a brother she adored and one that probably would not have cared if she died in that accident. She looked down at the bear and hugged it, she felt like crying this was so wrong and she was starting to hate herself. She looked at him gently as he sat beside her. She knew she hadn't pulled the shock of their parents being gone very well, she would come up with something if he asked she thought to herself.

"I don't know... you say your my brother... I... I am so sorry." She said as a tear rolled down her cheek. "I feel more." She said softly not sure what the hell she was doing or getting at now. "I mean I feel as if I know you, but I don't at the same time." She said and looked away, her heart breaking.

Arnold looked down, his heart in anguish... and yet... through the pain... opportunity. If she really was amnesiac, he could draw up the papers he needed for her to sign off on to give him his fair share of the inheritance? He didn't want it all... just what he was due... He also wanted his only link to his family to be alive and well... but how could he swindle her and at the same time keep her friendship? Bottom line.. he couldn't... he would have to decide which path to take for one would override the plans with the other.

He said, "Well... perhaps your memory would come back to you in time. Maybe... hey... maybe this might help..." He reached into his phone and opened up his old photos he had of the two of them. They had been younger, kids really but it was clearly them. One of them riding a cable car in San Francisco... it had been one of the last vacations they had spent as a family. Both of them had been about 12 years old.... before things went bad. He showed it to her and studied her eyes to guage her reactions. Would she recognize this? He watched her studying the picture incredibly hard and finally shaking her head saying she didn't remember that.

He began to scan through his pictures pulling photo after photo... the one when they went to this silly country music town called Branson.... another at the top of the Eifel Tower, another of the family clumped together on a ski lift heading to the top of a mountain in Aspen... photo after photo he pulled up and to his surprise, he had a lot of them still. So many of those pictures got him thinking about the past with them. There had been a time in their past when they acted like a wonderful family and they had both been happy... but then one day... almost like it happened overnight, his mom and dad had turned on him.... pushing to keep him away from Maria... sending him away... acting disgusted by him and never really understanding what he had done back then.

Arnold kept studying her eyes as she glanced through photo after photo. It wasn't fun at all seeing a lack of response from her at the memories of their childhood. Finally, realizing she really did have amnesia, he put the phone away and said, "Well... I tried. At least I have proven who I am to you... I am your brother and we are all that we have left in this world... I heard you had been in a car crash and it terrified me. I had no idea if you were even alive till I got here. For all I knew, I was going to ID you in the morgue.... I was so afraid you had died.... "

He reached for her hand and took it. He felt her hand trembling too... but didn't look up at her... just kept his face down on the side of the bed... silently thanking the lord above that he still had his sister... no matter how much she hated him....

She felt like two cents for putting him through this, it seemed as if he had cared about her, but she knew it was because of what she was going through she knew deep down Arnold hated her and always would. She looked away for a moment her mind a whirlwind of emotions, emotions she did not want him to see. She took a long deep breath and bit her lip, how the fuck was she going to make this work she wondered. She looked back up and him gently but unsure of what to say.

She nodded his head, oh it was back, she just had no idea when she would tell him, did she ever want to oh come on Marie of course you will, she could not put him through this forever. She was a little shocked when he grabbed his phone. He kept the photos this shocked her to her core but she could not let him see them. They seemed so happy, she wanted to cry she missed those moments so much. She wondered why her parents had hated Arnold she remembered it hadn't always been that way, she was trying to think long and hard but she came up short and confused. She bit her lip and looked at him sadly. She felt bad that she was doing this, but if she did not play this right it would not be believable after all. She shook her head lastly indicating she did not remember this. "I'm Sorry." She whispered.

Each picture confused her, she couldn't believe he still had them maybe he did not hate her as much as she thought he did... she wanted to know why her parents hated him so much, she remembered her old diary.. still probably tucked in the old dresser drawer from when she was the ages of 12 to 16, maybe something in there would explain where everything went so wrong. "We looked happy.'' She said with a sad smile. "I'm sorry I can't remember, you seem like an amazing brother." She said softly knowing she meant every word she was saying.

The photos brought warmth to her heart but she could not allow him to see that. She felt horrible for him, she could see that her not remembering him was killing him, but so was his hatred for her she thought to herself. "I feel horrible that I don't remember.'' She said more to herself than to him, she remembered but that did not mean she did not feel bad for what she was putting him through. "I'm sorry I put you through that... I don't remember the accident." She said softly oh she remembered that night a bit too well. She felt tears prick her eyes and fought them back. She always thought he wished she was dead and not their parents.

She accepted his hand even though hers was trembling. "I wish I could remember, I wish I could be the sister you've always deserved." She almost gave herself away. "Well in a sense at least, I don't even know what kind of sister I was." She admitted changing her tone quickly.

"Is everything okay?" A man said from the door causing Arnold to raise his head and pull his hand from hers. Doctor Evans stood in the doorway with clipboard in hand studying the scene and added, "Having any luck with the memory?"

"It doesn't seem so doctor." Arnold said as he looked to her once more. He said, "I have shown her several old photos and well... nothing seems to be working."

"Give it some time." THe doc said and stepped in a bit further saying, "Most of the time it just takes the brain time to heal on it's own. That is the one organ on the human body we know shockingly little about even now. I do have some good news though..."

Arnold glanced to Maria once mroe and then back saying, "And that is?"

"Well... to be honest, the biggest danger she was in was her coma she had been in. The rest of her injuries while surely are painful right now... are pretty superficial and they have all been treated. So... unless either of you object, I wouldn't say no if you wanted to take her out of here back to her life. Perhaps being in her own surroundings would help jog the memory quicker." He looked from him to her and back and then added, "Of course, she will need someone to stay with her during this time of healing... if you can't we would need to...."

"... of course I will do it." Arnold said calmly and almost eagerly. A half smile growing on his face. He then said, "That is... umm... if you are okay with it...." He looked back to Maria for her nod on the suggestion.

She heard the doctor ask if everything was okay and she looked up at Arnold then at the doctor a half smile on her face. She felt empty when he pulled his hand away from hers but quickly understood why he had. She shook her head no and looked at Arnold and could sense how much that bothered him.

God his voice and the crackle in it broke her and she almost called this facade off right then and there but she just could not, she was nothing if not stubborn. She looked at Arnold sadly when he looked at her. At the mention of the photos, she wondered to herself why he would keep than when he hated her so much.

She took a deep breath and nodded her head when the doctor said to give it some time. She scoffed at that, my brain is fine, it's me that's not I want to be with my fucking brother, I am fucking sick in the head she thought to herself as she bit her lip. Get it together Marie she thought to herself as she gathered her strength to keep this up. She looked up excited for some good news.

She looked up at him and smiled when he looked at her, her heart was racing as she felt as if Arnold felt there was no good news in the situation the two of them were in.

She chewed on her lip harder when he started to explain everything to the two of them, why did everything have to be complimented she felt herself zoning off as the doctor spoke, all she could focus on was her plans and how she was going to follow through with everything there was no turning back for her now. Yes, she still felt as if she had been hit by a train, versus the truck that had hit her. She knew she was lucky to be alive, even if deep down she did not feel very lucky. She took a deep breath wondering where this conversation was going looking a little confused at her brother and the doctor at the same time. She looked at him carefully at the mention that she would need someone to look after her, here was the moment of truth she thought to herself.

It shocked her how quickly Arnold had spoken up. It warmed her inside but she had to hide how gleeful she felt for the time being. The smile however she was not so sure he wanted this burden, nor should he she thought to herself, she would give him an out she thought to herself, she had to it was the least she could do. She nodded gently when he looked at her.

"I don't want to burdon you, I can make other arrangements if its to much.'' She said softly her voice weak and low.

"What do you mean you are going to stay with Maria??!" Candace said heatedly over the phone.

Arnold stood outside of the hospital room, a finger plugging one ear and the phone in the other saying, "The doc says someone needs to be with her and feels that getting her back in her own environment would jog that memory back. It's only going to be for a few days...."

He turned and noticed the nurses in the room, all of them helping her to get ready to leave. Arnold had brought Maria a pair of sleeper pants, one of her favorite Tshirts, wooly socks, and a pair of crocs. She wouldn't be winning any beauty contests with his choice of clothes for her, but at least she was heading out of the office. "She is rich... you can hire someone to babysit her while she worked out her problems..... I want you here with me Master...." She said with an irritated yet sensual voice.

Her soft soothing words were like honey to him and he felt his cock quiver.... god he was horny after all this. It had been at least 1 week since the two of them had played and then another week since he had been with Maria. His felt his cock quiver for his slave flesh and said, "Listen... I get it and I want that too... but this is my sister....and she needs me. I am all that she has left."

Arnold glanced into the window once more as she was sliding into her shirt and he got a few of the sides of her breasts and nearly bit his lip... she had really grown into womanhood for sure. He spun his back to the door and said, "I have to do this...."

Candace said, "Then... I will come with you. Two sets of hands are better than one."

"You two don't get along. I don't know how wise of a move that is.... tell you what... let me get her settled in and we can broach the topic again...." Arnold said as he heard the door open to the hospital room and the nurse said, "She is ready... go get your car and we will meet you at the front entrance. Arnold glanced to Maria who was now seated in a wheelchair holding her Koala bear and he smiled to her, nodded to the nurse and said to Candace, "I... I got to go now. Talk to you soon. Love you." He hung up and headed out to get the car.

Maria's head was all over the place as she tried to figure out how exactly she was going to make all of this work in her favor without destroying the small semblance of a relationship she and her brother still shared. She had a plan forming in her head but she was not sure how it would play out, but now was not the place or the time to sort it out.

She bit her lip as she was getting ready to leave the hospital, she was excited yet nervous at the same time, she knew what she was doing was the right thing to do at least in the back of her head that's what she continued to allow herself to believe, deep down she felt evil even if she was doing it out of the love she wanted and had for her brother. She shook her head, idiot was all she could tell herself that she was over and over again, but what if roles were reversed she wondered?

The one nurse who had been doting over her earlier gave her, her phone number and told her if she needed anything just someone to talk to feel free to call her, this made Maria feel a little better she did not have many friends, not that she trusted just her one guy friend who reminded her a lot of Arnold and her so-called on again off again douche of a boyfriend. She looked at the outfit the nurses were helping her into and she smiled to herself for the simple fact he remembered her favorite tees. It was a comfortable outfit and she was glad he chose that for her. She bit her lip thinking how fucked up she was in her head, but as she looked out the door at Arnold she just wanted them together and for him to know how in love with him she was and not just as his sister, and yes she knew how fucked up that was.

She sighed to herself and Nurse Tammy asked her if she was okay she smiled she knew she and Tammy were going to become great friends, she nodded her head but was thinking yes just fucked up and demented. She took a drink of the water Tammy offered her took a sip and thanked her. She looked around the room she would be glad to get out of this bed and this room. She yawned she suddenly felt tired, she was sure it was because of all the feelings she was going through and now all the lies on top of that.

She thought about Donald her best friend. https://pin.it/6ZgnExgcs Good looking and sexy as sin much like her brother, but she was never interested in him that way, but they meant a lot to one another, aside from Arnold was all she had in life... she thought about something then.. what if Donald seduced Candace, there was always something she did not trust about her... Arnold was always too good for her, and the way he could not see through her, shocked her, but then again Candace was all he had since he hated her after all... yes her plan was starting to form.. wrong but form, she would have to wait to text Donald when Arnold was not around fuck her phone was probably destroyed... she would figure it all out later she thought to herself. Then she thought about her once-in-a-while boyfriend, fucking joke that was she thought to herself.

Daniel, she thought to herself much older than her she met him at the museum one day, met him online and he was fucking sexy and everything she thought she needed, yes the sex was fucking amazing, but at the same time he couldn't give her what she desired and they were not right for one another, all he ever did was travel and she was lonely enough, she was not even sure why they still talked.. it was just her being lonely she thought to herself. https://pin.it/375O1qHNg She finished dressing and looked at the nurse who had brought the wheelchair into her and smiled.

"Thank you." She said softly as they helped her into the chair, making her shake a little.

She took a long deep breath and bit her lip thinking here goes nothing. She looked up at Arnold when they opened the door and she wondered just how the hell she was going to put this plan in motion and make this work. She instantly knew he was talking to that cunt, she had to calm her anger down or clearly, he would soon know she hadn't lost her memory at all. Hearing him say he loved her bothered her more than it should have for she had no right to feel this way in the first place... but she also could not help the way that she felt. She watched as he went to get the car and Tammy wheeled her to the front chatting with her as she did so.

The drive back to Maria's and Arnold's childhood home was quiet and somber. Neither really said anything, each lost in their own thoughts. Arnold's own thoughts consisted of several pieces, the first being how he would juggle taking care of his sister with her memory issues and his own job. He had already burned a week of time off, but who knows how much more time he would need to burn before she was back to normal and he could return to his own life with Candace. He ran his own advisory firm which consisted of flying about to different companies and providing general guidance on their software infrastructure. He had a list of vendors who depended on him to provide them customers and a list of customers looking for new vendors. He couldn't stay offline too long or he could grow irrelevant.

The other thing on his mind was much darker and something he really didn't want to think about... how to con Maria out of signing over half of his inheritance to him without breaking the laws or getting things stuck in court. He had plans rolling in his own mind on it. He reached out to his lawyer, the one he was barely able to keep on retainer to prep the proper paperwork for him to get her to sign. If she was really amnesiac, then it would be like plucking candy from a baby. The lawyer said that it would sent to the family estate via courier within the next 3 days. The problem was then, if he got her to sign and took his part of the inheritance and then she got her memory back, that would be the death toll for any fragmented relationship the two of them had had. Doing this to her would permanently severe the ties of their relationship and he would lose the only connection he had to any part of his family forever. How could one love a person who stole $25M from you after all?

It led him to the thought that perhaps he wouldn't take the money from her. If her memory remained gone, he could just forge a new relationship with her that involved him never leaving the home and using ALL the money that she had not really understanding how he was leeching off her. Of course that would also end the moment her memory came back too... so either option seemed like dead ends for him even if they were profitable ones.

He checked his phone, hoping Candace had reached out to him but it was silent. He reached to his radio and turned on of his favorite Big Band Jazz stations which played Duke Ellington's 'Don't mean a thing' track which almost immediately smiled to himself and felt his head and body bobbing back and forth, almost immediately getting into the swing of the song. He never noticed Maria with her side glances at him. Big Band Jazz, the songs that were so popular back in the 30's and 40's.... almost helped make him feel so much better. To him, there was no better music that this.... He never noticed his sister giving him side long glances at him.

When they pulled up to the home estate, it always kind of blew his mind when the gates opened and he pulled into the large stone road that ran to the front of the building. Three people stood near the front door... three women and one man. The first was the tall thin Rita Wright, the housekeeper who had been with the home and their parents for more than 30 years. The second was an older black man who was the groundskeeper Franklin Door in his typical grounds keeper overalls and hat. The third was Hannah Smith, the house chef that had been on retainer for the home for the last 10 years as well. He knew Rita and Franklin, but Hannah was a new face to him.

As he killed the engines, they began to walk down the steps to meet them. He said, "Franklin!!! Hi!" He walked over and hugged the older man and then the same with Rita.... turning to shake Hannah's hand. He opened the door and helped Maria out of her seat and they almost immediately guided her out of the car and up into the house.

Franklin said, "You staying around a while?"

"I had totally forgotten about the staff here.... and yes... Doctor suggested I stick around to help regain her memory." Arnold said calmly.

"I see... Good deal sir. Can I take your car, sir?" Franklin asked as he held out his hand.

Arnold handed him the keys and said, "You don't have to call me sir Frankie... You were more a father to me than my own father...."

Franklin smiled and walked to the driver side of the car and drove it to the garage.... Arnold turned and walked into the main doors of the estate...

She had to play her part well she thought to herself as she chewed on her lip as they drove to her home in silence there were so many thoughts racing through her head at the moment and she just wanted to sleep for days, but she had much to plan. She would glance over at her handsome brother every so often and feel bad for what she had planned on doing, but at the same time not feel bad at all she knew what she wanted and she was going after it, as wrong as that may be. She was taking her brother away from everything, here and now at the end of this she would give him all the money, she didn't want it or need it, well she did but he deserved it more, but she needed him to know and learn her feelings and she wanted to give him all of herself, even if at the moment it was not what he would want. She sighed to herself as she looked out the window she realized how she could text Donald she had an IMAC and you could send text through it brilliant she thought patting herself on her own back. She never wanted to cause Arnold any grief all she had ever really wanted was to be the woman that could make him happy, but with him hating her it would never happen. She felt the familiar sting in her chest whenever she thought about him hating her. She bit her lip again a nervous thing she had always done.

She loved him and she knew he would never feel the same Arnold was a good man who always did the right thing and now was no different, but in this state, she was in she may have a chance at getting what she wanted and all she ever really wanted was for what he had with Candace, she wanted him to have everything and more, she knew she could and would give him that even if she was not as experienced as Candace she was sure she loved him more than Candace. She thought more and more about what she was going to ask Donald to do, he owed her after all, she thought smiling to herself, he was a player and hell Candace was hot so she knew he would agree to seduce her and to make it where Arnold would catch her, she knew it would hurt but she would be right there to make him happy. She knew even if her plans did not work at the end of it all she would give everything to Arnold only asking him if she could keep the house, for the simplicity of having somewhere to live, she did not mind working and putting herself through college it would be harder but she could do it, wanted to do it. She shook her head, getting a headache but was it from the accident or all the thoughts running wild through her head? She took a long deep breath and then took a long drink of water that she had brought with her from the hospital. She could lose him forever for this, that much she knew, but she never really had him in the first place, that thought made her want to cry. She had to regain composure or surely he would know something was wrong with her. She was never a good liar, but she was doing a pretty damn good job of it at the moment.

She still could not help the glances she shot his way every so often. She wondered what was going through his mind, probably that he was again giving up his life for his bitch of a sister. She looked back out the window her heart breaking at the thoughts that kept surfacing just thoughts of how much he hated her.

She shook her head, get it together Marie before you lose your cool and tell him the truth. She could not hide the smile that came to her face as she looked over at him once more and then quickly looked away so he would not catch her staring at him. She sighed why did he have to be so handsome, why did she have to want him, and why did he hate her, she knew the answer but it did not make it hurt any less. He always loved this music she thought to herself, there was not much she did not know about her brother, probably more than he thought she knew, she studied him growing up and worshipped him even if he never noticed it. She was grateful he did not notice the way she was looking at him and then looking away at the same time, she could not help the way she felt that was the only thing that made what she was doing make any sense to her even though she knew how fucking wrong this was.

She always was stunned when she came home to the estate never understanding why the hell her parents had wanted something so extravagant to keep up with the Joneses she thought to herself. It would be hard pretending not to remember anything with her staff they had become her family since her parents died and her brother wanted nothing to do with her. You can do this, she reminded herself time and time again. She loved Rita, she had been there more than her parents, travelers they were, even if they doted on her they were never really there. She looked at the three people sadly as if to say she had no idea who they were as she looked over at her brother as well. "I'm sorry." She whispered as she looked at him.

She followed Arnold as they trailed the steps and headed toward the three people awaiting them. She knew how much Arnold loved Franklin and she did not blame him at all she felt the same. She looked to the ground as if she did not understand what was happening, she was going to win the fucking award for being a asshole one day. Arnold was always kind to the staff as was she, even her parents had treated them well, they were faithful through and through to the family. "Thanks.'' She said softly as he took her hand helped her from the car and headed towards the house.

She waited to hear his answer, her heart pounding against her chest as she bit her lip once more, fucking bad habit she thought to herself.

She felt bad hearing his answer as she looked away guilt clearly in her eyes. She took a deep breath, god she was an idiot she thought to herself thinking her plan would never work, get some balls Maria you can fucking do this.

She sighed as she looked at Franklin giving him the same sad smile she had first greeted Arnold with. They insisted on calling her and Arnold miss and sir and they both always hated that. She shook her head at the respect and kindness between the two men, she wanted to smile but did not want to make herself that obvious.

Her heart broke at that but it was a very true statement the staff was more like parents than their own were but it was much harder on Arnold than her and she hated herself and her parents for that.

She followed behind Arnold and pretended to gasp at the massivity of the home. "I.. live here, why?" She asked incredulously as if to say what the fuck do I need a home like this for.

A few hours later, Arnold stood in the doorway to his room studying it.... he recalled the way he had kept his room... some Nickelback posters over his full size bed in the corner next to his desk. He remembered the memories of this room... the first time he kissed a girl had been in this room with Kelly Ann when they had been so young... kids. He remembered finding the porn magazines of his dads under the sink and sneaking them to his room and reading them at night to learn how to handle women.... He remembered his old electric guitar and speaker he had kept in the corner.... He remember his box of toys he had kept in his closet... he had once had nearly every Transformer toy that had ever been made.... It had been a good room. Now... it was an empty guest room with out any of his stuff. He had looked for nearly an hour through the garage and the home for his things and found nothing. When Franklin caught him in the garage and was asked about his things, did he learn his parents had thrown all his stuff out almost immediately after he had moved out. This had wounded him deeply... deeper than he could have imagined.

He slowly stepped into this generic room, now vacant of every piece that had been him and tossed his case on the bed. He looked out the window and once again to his dismay, he looked to where the old oak tree had been that he used to climb only to find a garden in it's place. He had had a tree house in that tree and it had been his favorite place to be when not in his room or in the pool. Reality really sank in as he turned back to his case and unloaded the few changes of clothes. Nothing was the same here. He had noticed that none of his photos that had forced him to pose for as a kid were on the walls either. They had gone all out to erase him like he had been some kind of cancerous disease.

He lost track of where Marie was as he walked through the home, making it to his dad's office. He hoped there was still something left of him and when he stepped in, found all his photos there gone too. How could a parent do that to their own kid? When they had disowned him ... it was for life... and not just talk.

He could see the sun starting to go down as he looked out into the garden and noticed Marie standing out in the middle of it and began to walk out to meet her. As he drew close, he could see she was looking at the sun as it was fighting to stay above the horizon and said, "You used to always watch the sun go down each night.... like it was some kind of surprise that it could disappear.... How are you feeling sis?"

She was so confused by everything that was happening, well rather by what she was doing actually as she bit her lip and headed towards her bedroom that Rita had took her too she walked in the room and felt like a stranger her heart pounding at the same time as she tried to control her feelings, the room was decorated to her taste well a little of her taste, she wondered if Arnold would notice the picture on the side table of him and her the one on her vanity and the one on her dresser as well he probably hadn’t even gone to her room yet. She looked around her room why did everything feel different she wondered to herself? Her room was fancy she ached for simplicity in her life but her parents always wanted fancy hence this monstrosity of a home. She picked up the picture of her and Arnold as she sat on her bed. “Please don’t hate me after this.” She whispered putting the picture back down gently. She looked at her desk that held her laptop not yet Maria not yet, she had to wait until she knew Arnold wasn’t around, she could not risk it. She remembered things of her past as she sat there, and wondered about a journal she once kept… hmm she would have to find that later as well.

She sighed as she put her bag in the corner and then placed her koala bear on her bed gently smiling that he actually remembered something about her, he didn’t realize how much she remembered of him she even aside from her journal had a box of keepsakes dedicated to her brother that her parents tried to toss out, old posters of his, old transformers he loved to build, pictures of him and her they tried to toss, articles of him succeeding at life, even a old sweatshirt of his. She just wished that Arnold could see how much he meant to her and so much more was it wrong yes, did she care at this point she did not you don’t pick whom you fall in love with.

She sighed she had to get out of this room she needed some fresh air and a shower, she closed her eyes her head was beginning to her she was doing to much thinking about what she was planning and how to plan it out perfectly she had plans but even she knew they did not always go according to plan.

She walked out to the garden she had always loved it out here it was the one place she could always escape to, to get away from the way there parents figured all the time over her and Arnold and how much hate she held in her heart for them she almost wanted to go in and tell her brother everything now, but she couldn’t.

She heard him when he spoke and it startled her a little and she turned and smiled at him as he told her a memory he had of her, it felt amazing to her as she smiled warmly at him.

She giggled a little. “I must have been a foolish child, I’m sorry I don’t remember you or any of this or my life… you seem like a great brother.” She said warmly as she looked at him again.

"Yeah... well ... mom and dad seemed to disagree with you. They warned me if I left that would throw my stuff out and I guess they went through with it." He muttered angrily.

He saw her turn to look at him and he said, "Not your fault.... mom and dad were pricks for sure.... I just wished they hadn't...."

The words faded in his mouth. She didn't know anything about it and until she got her memory back, there was no point to burdening her with his problems. He finally said, "Anyways... it's not your concern. You don't remember any of this do you?"

Seeing her nod, he said, "I see... I remember something I wanted to show you.... stay here a moment."

He walked away and came back with a shovel of all things and a piece of parchment that was faded and folded up. He said, "Does any of this ring any bells?"

He saw her eyes flicker in some kind of recognition, but then faded once more. He was sure this would do something... did it? He said, "Here."

She opened it up and saw a roughly drawn map of the gardens drawn in crayon by a young hand. He said, "Look familiar?"

When she shook her head, it baffled him... what would it take to get her memory back? He said, "It was our secret map to a treasure chest... what do you think? Shall we go hunt for it.... See that wall there, that is that rock wall over on the south side... that big X is near the Magnolia tree. What do you say? Shall we?" He slung the shovel over his shoulder as if preparing for some great adventure.
