Also, this is a half-assed way to defend the country. The current administration isn't doing it because of that, although it does give officials power to do things they otherwise couldn't. The current admin. doesn't have a fucking clue about defending the nation against the new threat; they're still suffering from the cold war trauma. They fucked up in Afghanistan; they lost a golden opportunity to fix a large part of it. They're grasping for/at straws at the moment. And they're greedy as hell.

Bent keeps dodging the fact that the U.S. makes big profits off of illegal laborers. She keeps talking about protecting this country, giving the impression that illegal labors harm this country. Yet this is contrary to what actually happens: Illegal workers benefit this country economically. I can't believe I'm going to say this YET AGAIN, but no one here wants to take those jobs, and those jobs need to be filled. Illegal laborers will do it. And no, it's not because they're stupid (as Bent would like to think). It's because they're desperate. And no, people here don't decline those jobs because they're lazy (as Bent accuses me of thinking). They decline those jobs because the working conditions are horrendous (and largely illegal in and of themselves), and the pay sucks. In short, U.S. citizens aren't as desperate as the illegal workers.

Bent would like to overlook that our economy benefits from cheap, exploitable labor provide by illegal workers. Bent would like to overlook that companies knowingly hire illegal workers by the thousands. Bent would rather shoot all the illegal workers for coming here to work, and ignore the reasons why they come, and the contributions that they make, preferring instead to call them all criminals, sexual perverts, and hostile threats instead of the hardworking, desperate individuals that they are. She'd rather see them as some sort of threatening brown swarm from the South. She's probably terrified of the "browning" of America, too--since she doesn't seem to have a fear of Canadians, or Europeans. Her biggest gripe is with Spanish speakers, and particularly Mexicans. She has already stereotyped Mexicans as all being criminal and dangerous, as being murderers, wife beaters and child molesters. She talkes about "having lived amongst Them"--as if they're from another planet, or subhuman. And she advocated shooting them just for crossing the border.

Just as the current problems in Venezuals are created by AmeriKKKan oil interests jealous about the profits lost to the people because petrol has a fixed price of about 7 U$ cents per litre (about 30 U$ cents per gallon).

Now given the huge profits being harvested from the theft of Iraqi oil reserves, free from the US tax system thanks to the appointed regime in the White House, the oil corporation executives want control of that action as well.
