If there was a woman in power, there would be no wars.... just some intense negotiation every 28 days.

Haven't ever voted the party line. I vote for issues. I have lots and lots of issues.:)

I still don't vote, but I have no probrem women being in power as long as they show us some tatas now and again.

Considering the type of women who tend to go into politics, I can't believe you would want to see their ta-tas.

would you really of wanted to have seen maggie's tatas :)

I voted no. I vote for the ideas and the person, not the sex.

Someone that would vote for a candidate solely on their sex is pretty shallow.

I personally don't think women should be eligible for the position until they're required to register for the draft too. Where's the equality?

*ducks and covers*

Sometimes there are good ones, like Chicholina and Ian Dancan Smith.

There is a fairness in that actually. Still, men were allowed into the Presidency before there even was a draft.

So would the sex of the individual matter to you at all, even as a tie breaker?

nope... issues... anyone who votes blind due to affiliation needs some counselling and independant thinking in thier lives

The 'tie breakers' are always ideas. I've voted for women against men in the primaries and general elections. Sex is not an issue.

Hell no. Her gender shouldn't keep her out of office and her gender shouldn't put her in office.

People should vote for the person they think will do the best job, irregardless of gender.

OK then something directly related to the draft? Hmm get a job? Guys can't get a job with registering for the draft.

Maybe it belongs in a new thread, but where is the equality in the draft? The guys in the military who don't want women there don't have to worry about women draftees?

I just think it was horrible that a draft dodger became the commander in chief of the military. Which would show that the position and the issue have nothing to do with each other.

I have one simple strategy to all my voting:

I vote for whoever I think is most likely to be able to defeat any present republican candidate.

If an office doesn't have a Republican running for it, then I look at the issues and individuals and decide. Otherwise I do what I can to perserve the free world. ;)

So no, I would never vote across party lines for a woman if that might cause a Republican to win. Otherwise I would if I agreed with what she had to say; since I have no party loyalties, only an anti-loyalty.

I'm not sure how this got into a topic on voting for or against women. But I saw it after I made my post and am now coming back to add in an edit.

I'm a veteran and served in a warzone. But if there had been a draft I would have dodged it on the general principle of being an advocate of freedom unless it was for the sole purpose of domestic defense against an invasion of my nation's long standing internationally recognized territory (in which case I still believe a draft is wrong, but feel that anyone avoiding the call to defense should be stripped of citizenship and deported).

I voted other, for that very same reason.
But then I guess this poll wasn't really aimed at me anyway.

And we already have a woman as the president over here :)

I can actually see myself voting for a female Republican candidate just to see a woman in office, depending on how conservative she is and how conservative her opposition was. I have my own issues too, and if she is big on the ones that I actually support conservatives on, then I might actually vote for her.

I could vote for a female Libertarian candidate very easily, even though I don't really believe in most of what the Libertarians stand for on a larger level.
