to tour the caves if the war was over? A friend of mine told me that he would love to tour those caves once all the bad guys are gone. I think it is sort of like visiting Auschwitz (which was very depressing).

Yes

After working Ground Zero and loosing relatives there, I have booked an early flight there as an Officer in The Army. I will tour it as early as January while we are still at war. Then someday I will tour it after the war like I did with Kuwait after I fought there. Vinny

If I was to go to the Middle East, I would probably check it out while I was there. Am I planning a trip to the Middle East...ever? No, it doesn't strike me as a good vacation spot! :D

My daughter is going to Israel for ten days during winter break. I was going to make her cancel until I learned about it. They aren't allowed to take public transportation (have their own charters) and aren't allowed ti go into discos, bars, malls, etc., and won't be near the West Bank. I'm still not thrilled, but it's a once in a lifetime opportuinty (as in free).

the middle east

is a big place and there are many places that I would like to see, but there is nothing in Afghanastan that holds any attraction for me, not before, not now, not never--I'm with the pabloback tour.

yes

To Turkey, I can be ready in 15 min.
And I hope that I will see Bagdad , Teheran and Damascus. But I will wait a little bit for those three

Of all the beautiful places on the earth, why would anyone want to go the crappie middle east? It personally doesn't appeal to me as a place where I want to go tour to see the sites or something.

Moridin, I went to Ireland last summer (to see family). It's incredible and worth however long you have to wait.

No

But, it has nothing to do with recent events.
I like exploring America (North and South).
And I have still not seen enough of China.
And I would like to get to Australia and New Zealand.
So the Middle East is far down the list.
Especially since I am not religious.

You wanna see caves???

Go to Petra (it's in Jordan)...

All the colours of the rainbow..... looks like they've been painted.... but they haven't.... it's all just the natural rock...

Wanna be impressed?

Go to Giza.... (you know..... the Great pyramids...)

Now they've uncovered the place where the people who built them lived... (not slaves..... Artesans(sp)... people who did it because they Wanted to.... not because they Had to)

there's some neat stuff over there .... not everyone hates us...

I think I know that Voice

If you have any ounce of mysticism in you, the lure of Jerusalem must be there...For me, the caves do not

But the friend should enjoy it if that's wut he desires:cool:

Rocky deserts are never barren...

You just have to know where to look...

.... and when... ;)

As for Jerusalem.... if the rocks and bulletts ever stop flying... Yes!

Sorry.... i don't think this is a 'voice' you know...

I guess we should be very proud of your courageous daughter. At least she's not letting the bastards of hate scare her out of her dreams and adventures.

I have a daughter too who has traveled overseas and I cringe at the thought of her wanting to go to the mid east right now.

I will keep my finger crossed VERY hard for your girl. Do let us know how her trip goes.

Phantom.

Lol

You'd never get on the plane ;), *muah*

I have no desire to see the Middle East, never have. I'd much rather see Africa.

I would love to see the pyramids. How long would that take a day? After that what the hell is there to do. You can learn more about the Middle East by visiting the (excuse me Brits but I have forgotten the name of the place) big museum in London.

No, I have no interest in visiting the Middle East at all.
There are many other beautiful places in the world that I have not been to yet- they are all higher on my waiting list for a visit than the Middle East.
