It has historical value as a reminder of what one race is willing to do to subjugate another. It also will stand as a testament when people try to convince others that slavery wasn’t bad. Seeing first hand how Africans were transported to the New World should be pretty sobering.

That slave ship has no more historical value than the Confederate monuments they are tearing down or the USS Missouri acchord in Pearl Harbor. To think that a society would cherry pick what is of historical value and what isn’t dooms history to repeat itself without sufficient reminders from both sides of the table of how exactly we got to this point in time now.

Slavery has always been part of and always will be a part of mankind in varying forms. Some consider the financial/debt system slavery, and some don't. Who's money is it? Who's face is on it? Who holds the largest amount of stock in said money. Crypto-currency is real. If there was a draft for war, my life is not my own, i cannot say no or face the repercussions. Does the goverment own my life? I pay my city property tax to The Corporation of (said city). Who owns the corporation? I own the house, but not the plot/land. Am i a wage slave? I can live on the street, but still be jailed for disobeying a law. Freedom is a fantasy. Depends who you ask.

That’s a mistake, if you remove the historical sites people forget. Teenagers won’t believe unless they see it. Do you think they need to destroy the Nazi Death camps? There are actually people who claim the Holocaust never happened. People today don’t know the Japanese committed atrocities in WWII every bit as heinous as the Germans.

That's quite the stream of consciousness. If you don't own the land but are paying property taxes on it, you're definitely getting screwed. Unless you are leasing and it's N3, then get a more favorable lease next time. Although you say you own the house, so are we talking condo?
