Why do you giggle with the racists?

Bruno´s movie is in the planning stages. And "lip gloss" is a reference to the aftereffects of cunnilingus, according to the darling teenagers at the local DoDDs school. There, some more slang.

I knew you could hook me up.

The only people on lit that have ever called me a racist are Matty Craig and Cade. I can live with their bad opinion, I consider it a badge of honour.

I love Sacha.

Not sure I can forgive him for making a movie for Borat and not Bruno, but he didn't ask me. Ah well.
It's one of the funniest things, or saddest depending on your situation, but to see a white guy walk by with his boom box blasting rap music, wearing a sports jersey and baggy pants, I mean, what references does this kid have in his life.

My son's the whitest of the white, but he can pick up a radical, extreme, ghetto accent from a yogurt commercial aimed at seven years olds on the Cartoon Network.

It's basically the same as having feathered hair and bell bottoms in the 70's. Sure, it's a bad idea, but it's everywhere.

I missed out on feathered hair and bell bottoms.

I was the long haired guy who made you glad you bought the optional power locks.

i think it's nice that kids are more interested in picking up eachother's ways than having those ways make them seem threatening and alienating them. a crossing of barriers, a blurring of parameters, making it all more about people- however silly it may seem at the time. just another example of adaptability.

Right, emulating a rapper is just dandy.... I want my son to carry guns, treat women like whores and think prison is a badge of courage. Have fun....

This is actually a rather stupid thing for you to say because a) it implies that all rappers carry guns, disrespect women and have gone to jail, b) it implies that black cultue is synonymous with "rap" culture c) it ignores the fact that your average wigger is onto much more than immulating "rappers".

can't they just be liking the fashions, enjoying the music, having a little fun? and for those whose parents freak maybe having a little fun winding up the authority figures? i don't see that kids dancing to the music, trying to write/create their own raps, and enjoying the different style clothing is the same as making sure they grow up as gun-weilding, whore-pimping criminals. maybe it's because i'm not a parent, but from what i've seen over here it really is just the fashion of the times and times are always changing.

Have you given your husband some brain lately?

"gettin' brain" = fellatio (not really new slang, but figured you might not have heard it before) :D

there will always be those who take it too far. look at the people who emulate another because they see them as above all others and aspire to be what they are like... this goes beyond the music industry. the anorexic film-star; the heroin-chic model; the mass-murderer...

bloody hell, even i've worn some of the clothing as fashion, still have some actually, AND tried break-dancing... shit, i even used to mess about singing Michael Jackson songs but i haven't turned into anything bad. why the hysteria? why always focus on the negative? that's not to say the negative elements aren't there, but i still reckon they are far outnumbered by people just being people and having some fun. maybe it's a case of things not being so bad as in America - but then we don't have the gun culture to begin with, do we?

I remember listening to my nieces and nephews singing lyrics to songs that were on mtv. Singing about pimps and hoes, capping whitey, smoking crack and such...Damn!!

It's bad when the children are between 1st and 5th grade know the words to songs like that on the radio and mtv!!

how old are first to fifth-graders, cade? maybe a lot of what's said means little to them, but i could be wrong. and what about the age ratings thingy for some of this material? wasn't it Eminem saying that he had an18 (or was it 15?) parental advisory thing on his music, so some of it is down to parents then to supervise. but shit, we all used to listen to stuff our parents hated, i'm sure.

personally i find most rappers plain boring. not all, but most. like i do the pussy cat dolls, mariah carey, and omg girls aloud!!!! now they're dire in their own way and yet kids emulate them!

Yeah, but kids decide to be Goth, too. It's not as if they get to pick the trends of the time. Usually the trends suck.

parental supervision has to come into play here somewhere... by the time they're 12 i suppose less so. oh, i don't know - maybe i'll think completely differently when i'm a mum, who knows? but for now i just don't see it as something so terrible - the rappers especially now have become more homogenised, their vids more about their cothes, their cars... the styling is toned down since the days of those rappers getting shot. i expect it still goes on inplaces, but the pop industry's fickle as you know, cade, and they've gotta fit in with the flavours the record companies want to produce. this is why eminem had such a hard time of it getting his own stuff out there.

Yeah Eminem had a hard time because they didn't want a white rapper out there. he faced alot of discrimination against him through out his life and trying to get his career going.

Just like earlier they were talking about Vanilla Ice.. I remember seeing him on the Arseneau Hall show and Arseneau was making all sorts of racist comments towards Ice. I thought the show was going to be banned theway Arseanu behaved, but the show still stayed on for a short while after.

Your sarcasm would hit harder if it seemed like you actually knew what you were talking about.
