Clinton stands out in this because he's the only living former president to remain in the political spotlight. Two living former presidents have gone silent and reclusive, one (George the Better because he was rejected for a second term) one (George the Lesser because he screwed up royally) and one reverted to being fully human and devoted to good works outside of politics (Jimmy Carter). Clinton left being held in higher regard than he deserved to be, not being totally disgraced for what he should have been cast in the dark for, and staying in the political spotlight--and sometimes stepping in the shit without realizing that it wasn't the right place to step (and because he got away with being a shit before).
