I'm not. Unless the airlines cancel on me I'm flying to Texas week after next...

Then shortly after that to Vegas...

And sometime in December planning to spend a weekend in the city I was born in. New York.

I had to change my plans because National Airport is indefinitely closed. Still flying to D.C. tomorrow, just into Dulles instead. Biggest difference will be the mondo taxi fare into downtown.

Not me!

i've been planning my trip to Los Angeles to visit my Master since last June. i'm not going to let a bunch of morons change that. Come Oct 5th i'll be one happy sub (at least for the weekend anyway).

Come January i'll be moving there permanently. That is one move that i'm looking forward to.

I'm not changing my travle plans either.

On October 31st I'll be flying from Denmark to Atlanta, via Newark, for a 2 week vacation.

There have to happen something very drastic for me to change my schedule that's for sure.

Considering it .....

I admit it - I am really considering changing my holiday plans. Scheduled trip to Florida by end of October and not sure if I shall go.

It isn't so much fear to keep me away but more that the mood in the States doesn't seem right to go there and enjoy Disney as a tourist - plus I shall have to wait and see how this declaration of war develops.

Plus we were intending to see relatives and they keep telling us to not come right now and all, taking care and such .... it must be a lot more fear in the US itself than it is here for us in Germany.

I have not decided yet but I admit - I am thinking about it.

Yes

I'm changing plans, sort of. The plans weren't definite in the first place though. I anticipated an international trip before the end of the year which probably will not happen now.
Our company has a ban on international travel effective this week- world wide, not just for Americans. Until that ban is lifted, my ass stays in America.

As for personal plans, I will still fly to Florida for a Spring vacation as planned.

They will not Win

This is America and I will pursue my freedom of travel without changing my plans....it may have some minor inconveniences....still worth pursuing....see you in Vegas *smiles*

i wish my ex husband was changing his plans.. he leaves in a few weeks.. taking MY 3 oldest children to Disney World.. I'm torn.. i'm sure they will be ok.. but having my kids away like that during this time is going to bother me.. not only are they flying.. they are going to be gone 2 weeks.. :( the promise to call everyday, but i'm still worried..

Hopefully this post won't receive any hateful replies by people who don't like the singer.

I've heard that because of the ban, Britney Spears may be stuck in Australia for a while.

Mission trip to Mexico was cancelled. I was supposed to leave mid-October. I'm upset, but, am sending all my trip money to the orphange there.

I was supposed to book a flight for a conference, and I can't imagine calling an airline right now. I figure it would be almost impossible to get through with people trying to change or cancel flights and really, I figure they've got enough people to deal with right now. Let them deal with the stranded people first.

My sister's coming out Friday the 21st. I'm more concerned about her flying than she is. The only way she'll change her plans is if the planes aren't flying.

Not changing my plans one bit. Just going to be more *aware* of my surroundings and those around me is all. I will be more alert.

As for the added security measures. I think that is just fine with me. We are such a "gotta have it now" "convenient" society that we have lost sight of what is needed. So I will submit to all checks and re-checks as necessary.

Hoping all travel well and safe.

I think it's safe to say that no one could get away with hijackings like those last Tuesday again.
I think you missed the story from Phoenix on Thursday, shadowsource. Three Northwestern Airlines employees decided to test the "new & improved" security measures. Two groundcrew workers got through carrying a knife and a corkscrew. The pilot got through with no identification. They turned right around and reported what happened. The airport's response? They issued a statement discouraging airline employees from volunatirly breaching security measures. Yeah, we learned our lesson, all right.

I'm not going anywhere out of NYState until I move to Florida. Then and only then will I leave, and I'll probably drive. I will fly again, but just not now. I'm not afraid of being hijacked - I just am uncomfortable with it for the moment.

BK is supposed to come up here in October. On a plane. Hopefully that pans out although as soon as he steps off the plane I'll start breathing again.

*sighs*

My work trip was cancelled after all. I was still planning on going but the airline isn't even promising there will be a flight...

Still planning on Vegas though.

flying is my worst nightmare as it is, but i do it, although whiteknuckle all the way.....flying now i am scared outta my skin, i have to fly from pheonix to detroit in january......i will do it, i won't let the threat of an unknown demon stop me.......sheesh my palms are sweating as i type.............

April......try this

My doctor prescribes Lorazepam for me to fly....I too cannot take a flight without horror...however I know that the only way to go anywhere or be mobile is to fly.

Lorazepam is a prescription and truly does make flying a joy *smiles*

Good luck....*smiles*

We were supposed to go to Utah this past weekend. Decided not to go...I wanted to be in town in case my dad made it back from Florida (he did, finally, thank God). But I'm not changing my Thanksgiving plans at all....unless circumstances change. Still planning to fly to Rochester, NY. I'm not missing a chance to see my family.

I'm flying up to see my boyfriend (DontWaketheNeighbors) in just a few more days- nothing in this world could keep me from this trip! I think that things will be much safer, if anything.

I work in the event production industry and part of what we do is coordinate arrivals and departures for our corporate groups and I have to say that we've had quite a few cancellations and postponements due to issues with the airlines.

GET THE FUCK OUT! You have family here?! :D

We're trying to figure that out now Angel. Email has been sent to everyone who signed up - didn't you get one? See my other post and respond to the email.

There are a number of people who signed up who will not be able to make it... for various reasons. We can all understand the many reasons why people are reluctant to travel in the near future. Safety concerns along with the feeling that perhaps we should be with family as much as possible over the next couple of months. While a good party might be appreciated right now its also true that our hearts and minds are elsewhere. And there are even some of us who's jobs are related to various efforts currently under way - and some who may even be in the reserves and called up to duty.

We are trying to make a decision within the next couple days. Whatever happens, it won't be cancelled - just postponed.
