I believe it has everything to do with my delusions of grandeur. I find it easy to believe that people like me, because I invent reasons that I would like me and project them onto others. When I see traits in others that I do not like and refuse to see in myself (although they are present) then I project my self hatred onto the offending parties. When I see traits that I like in others that I wish I had but do not, I then project my envy onto them. I am an American Neurotic

without wanting to play paranoid mind-games with myself: 'they want my money' - 'I don't have any money' - 'they think that I have money?'

It's good to be mysterious... people are attracted to what they do not understand. It also helps if one can make others laugh, particularly in a self-deprecating way - people like to laugh at others.

different strokes for different folks and like-minded birds tend to hang together...

ask yourself what you like about the people you wish to be with... hopefully, it's like talking to a mirror or maybe not...

Because I am tall? I personally wish I was about 6 inches shorter, but there is not much I can do about that.

Other than that I am not really sure.

Here on Lit. people have said they are attracted to my intelligence, but the people I work with and associate with are generally at least as intelligent, often more so, are more verbal about it, and a lot more worldly (I have not traveled much), so the intelligence factor doesn't really go far in the real world.

I know I am not ugly, but then I am not drop dead handsome either, and I somewhat shy.

So, I am not sure what attracts people to me - indeed, I am not sure that it happens at all, besides my height I don't think I really stand out in a crowd.

Some seem to like me, some don't. Oh, well.

I can self analyze, but would be more inclined to dig up all the negatives about myself as I am constantly looking toward improving myself. Improvement for me....not for others.
