This morning, as I put my flag out, I hear the growling engines of the vintage aircraft off in the distance. It slowly approaches and my mind thinks to the great uncle who died during WWI, when a bomb dropped on the trench he was in. I think of the uncle I never met, who was shot during WWII while liberating a village in France. I also think of the cousin, I also never met who was killed by an ambush in Vietnam. I think and remember all of the faceless men and women who signed up and gave their lives to protect the freedoms we have!

A good friend lost his life in Iraq several years ago....I was thinking of him this morning when I put my flag out.

A big thank you to all of those who served or continue to.

Well said, BK. :rose:

happy it's going to be a beautiful day today...

wondering what to make for breakfast...

still have some chores to do today...

Cousins funeral was very nice. Sad but nice. The funeral cost more than what we have raised for our aunt but at least paid for a majority of it. Hopefully these next few fundraising ventures will bring in enough to get my aunt more of the things she desperately needs.

I am so sorry for your loss. I pray your aunt will find peace, knowing that your cousin is in a better place.
