A danger in the sense that Trump becomes America's Caesar. He almost did it on January 6 2021. If congresspeople had been harmed that day (or worse) before the 2020 presidential election results had been certified, Trump could have declared a national emergency because of the scenes on Capitol Hill and stayed in power until new elections were called. Had this happened, the 2020 presidential election results would never have been certified, as if they had never really happened.

I don't think a lot of people grasp just how close a coup came to actually happening that day.

I agree that Biden is awful. I've always been angry at his warmongering and the resulting inflation, and how Democrats who never stopped moaning about Trump always seem to give Biden a free pass, even for ethnic cleansing and potential genocide in Gaza. As for the Republican Party, I don’t think it has a future on the national stage. More and more, it’s just the “white grievance” party. It will still win some local elections and send people to Congress, but we will never see another Republican President.

That’s my point. Clinton and Obama were very popular. Clinton easily defeated a respected senator and WWII hero. Obama easily defeated a former governor and successful businessman. It was very different from today, but even back in the 1990s there were people in parts of the country who resented Clinton a lot. As time went on, this grew, especially after the 2008 crash. And who was Obama's opponent in 2012? Mitt Romney, who along with being very rich like virtually all big presidential candidates, came across as a snob who simply had no clue about people's lives.

He did, but it was very unusual in the sense that Trump in 2020 (when he lost) got well over 11 million more votes than he did in 2016 (when he won). And this after acting like a crazed maniac during the 2020 year. He also gained more in 2020 compared to 2016 among white women (just about), black men, black women, hispanic men and hispanic women. Trump actually did worse in 2020 than in 2016 among white men while gaining in those other groups that I mentioned.

Most other presidents who lost re-election attempts, like George H.W. Bush in 1992, Jimmy Carter in 1980 or Herbert Hoover in 1932, are pretty much blown out when they try for a second term, compared to the elections before that they won (1988, 1976, 1928). Trump's situation has been very different.

It's not really about them being dumb though, but that they want to burn the house down on an establishment that has failed them over a long period of time. On top of that, there's matters like the economy and inflation, and Biden is now the incumbent and Trump the outsider again.

We have to consider what effects the third party candidates are going to have on the election result. I believe recent polls suggested that Biden loses more than Trump if RFK Jr., Stein and West are all candidates.

How does Biden recover from this enough to win the key states that won him the election in 2020, with the Democratic coalition?

One day she was challenging her father on his opposition to higher taxes on the rich and the need for more government programs. The self-professed objectivity proclaimed by her professors had to be the truth and she indicated so to her father. He responded by asking how she was doing in school.

Taken aback, she answered rather haughtily that she had a 4.0 GPA, and let him know that it was tough to maintain, insisting that she was taking a very difficult course load and was constantly studying, which left her no time to go out and party like other people she knew. She didn't even have time for a boyfriend, and didn't really have many college friends because she spent all her time studying.

Her father listened and then asked, "How is your friend Audrey doing?" She replied, "Audrey is barely getting by. All she takes are easy classes, she never studies and she barely has a 2.0 GPA. She is so popular on campus; college for her is a blast. She's always invited to all the parties and lots of times she doesn't even show up for classes because she's too hung over."

Her father asked his daughter, "Why don't you go to the Dean's office and ask him to deduct 1.0 off your GPA and give it to your friend who only has a 2.0. That way you will both have a 3.0 GPA and certainly that would be a fair and equal distribution of GPA."

The daughter, visibly shocked by her father's suggestion, angrily fired back, "That's a crazy idea, how would that be fair! I've worked really hard for my grades!
