What happens to the Republican Party when Donald Trump dies?

He’s an old man, and years of living a playboy lifestyle have taken their toll. He probably doesn’t have much longer left.

But the Republican Party doesn’t seem to stand for anything except devotion to him. So what happens after Trump’s gone? Who assumes the mantle of leadership, and what policies will they run on?

They still got Junior and the Blonde.

And the littler one.

Joe is the one you need to worry about there may not be a country before he's gone.

I think the blueprint has already been laid out by skinheads such as Richard Spencer and the opportunist Tucker Carlson mainstreaming replacement theory on national tv. Trumpers, the modern day GOP needs to appeal to younger voters and to do that you will see sharp haircuts, bow ties, a warm smile, and snazzy nice suits. The underlying hateful rhetoric will still be there but represented by more artful con artists such as what we now see in trump sycophant Mike Johnson.

Don’t fight the hypothetical. I honestly don’t see a way forward for the Republican Party post-Trump. As a conservative, what do you think will happen?
That's a pretty obtuse observation but it does speak to your lack of awareness and foresight. The Republican party is in transformation. If Trump is elected and allowed to serve and get out of it alive, the party will be different, bigger, stronger, and more conservative and populist.

The present-day Marxism of the Democrat Party will see it dwindle in strength and appeal to the working people of America. Democrats won't go down without trying to bring the country down with it, but in the end, they will be forced to evolve in the face of new realities. Working people who love their country and their freedom are not going to go gently into the night.

My two cents on this is:

When Trump goes off to the great big lie in sky, there will then be a battle for the leadership. I'm not sure which way it will turn out, nor who will take the crown, but I am willing to say if the next one tries to move back towards reality, the party will fracture. If the next leader tries to keep to the same path as Trump, the party will fracture.

So the sooner Trump kicks off, the sooner the USA gets a viable third party....

trump winning would be a grave danger to the country as we know it. As for your post #9, the republican party under trump would become an authoritarian party and it would surprise no one if trump engineered himself to be president for life.

As to the OP BSG, if trump dies I’d like to think the republican fever dream would abate and they’d get back to normal, rational politics, but Fuzzy could be on to something.

Playboy lifestyle? The guy eats McDonald’s & KFC.

What happens to both parties depends on what happens to the whole nation. There is plenty of work to do, with escalating difficulty as the work is deferred and the government must drastically cut spending, like dropping most of the Cabinet. There will be plenty of work and opportunity especially for the party that has been campaigning on less government spending for decades, minus the grifters. If either party can't kick its own grifters to the curb, it may kick itself to the curb and be replaced with some other party.

Democrats are nothing close to normal rational politics.

I assume that when The Great Leader, the All Powerful Orange Jesus dies, his eldest son will take over as dictator. Isn't that how it normally works?

They've got that figured out already...

..."God" can't die. 🙄

There IS a religious element to the post Drumpf era, but it’s more along the line of - "The heralding of the end times".

Many "republicans" definitely believe Drumpf is either the second coming or the anti-Christ - and they really don’t care which. Either way, those demented fucks will get some delusional sense of vindication / validation for their crazy world view after that orange POS is finally flushed. They’ll see the fucked up state of the world Drumpf helped foster, and point to it as "proof” that the "end times” are nigh.

🙄

Ironically / ultimately, most Drumpf voters are old people with similar dietary habits as their orange POS idol, so their "end times” are likely imminent.

*nods*

Well, Kim Jung Un is grooming his daughter to take over, so…

😳
