What Drives You?

I thought of this while doing the dishes and thought it might be interesting to see the responses people on the boards came up with.

What are the three most driving forces in your life?

The things you live for, or to do.

For example, mine are, in no particular order:

Curiousity

Friendship

Love(the search for it)

I am an intensely curious person. My earliest memories are of trying to figure out/ask/ or understand the most important question- WHY?

I have few friends, but those few have been friends for over half my life. They truly are the people I would call to help me hide the body.

And love, a driving force for most everyone. It's the thing I have the most quesitons about. BTW, Sex would be number four. I can live without sex with another person, but without the possibility of love, no way.

Also, please don't list something twice, unless it has two different forms or meanings. I'm sure sex is in many people's top three, but is it really the force that drives you, all by itself. And I'm nto talking about an evolution thing here. The statement that "Everything is about sex" just really kills the purpose of this post.

my children

creative urges

friends, friendship, love...


My children are my biggest driving force. Their unconditional love coupled with my inner need to love them back by being a good mom dictate most of my decisions and actions.

Then, creativity gets in the way of better judgement, at times. I have many interests that utilize my creative energy and am terrible at organizing time and energy to follow through. Therefore, I will drop everything to spew out a few words, right down a chord or two, sketch a vision that popped into my head...who knows?

And of course, love for and from others.....

~I want to know what's next. It amazes me the paths that people take, and where they end up. What's around the next corner? Will I win the lottery? Will I be a homeless bum? These are things I need to know.

Love.
~I want to be loved. I want to love. I want to be surrounded with warmth and happiness. These people that I hold near and dear keep me going. They push me past my limitations, they make me feel good about myself.

Hope.
~When everything is going wrong, there's always a little piece of me that keeps on dreaming. Call it religion, call it confidence. I call it hope. I know things will be ok *somehow*. Hope has kept me alive and sane more times than I can count.

What Drives Me?

it can be a variety of things:
Anger
Love
Happiness
Devotion
Internal Struggle etc

Its whatever is mostly going on in my mind at the time and place, like one day i am totally decided to go all out and spend on my girl and not think of paying bills i have untill a later time.

other times i act on impluse alot, it gets me through

Out of what hasn't been listed so far--
I want to be the best. I want to continually improve myself, and ideally (although realistically it'll never happen) I want to be the best there is at something that I love to do.
Then there's the possibility that they could remove the hayflick limit on cell replication, stop DNA from unravelling, and just generally succeed at immortality. That potential sitting out there is enough to make me want to stick around a long time. I like this life thing, most of the time.
