Since it seems that we all do quite a bit of "reading" while we are here, I was just curious as to what everyone else reads off-line.

Currently I am reading "The Jewish War Against the Romans". It was written by Josephus in the first century A.D. Boy...... If you hate politics these days, be damn glad you werent living back then!!

It was much simpler back then....

I dont like you *whips out sword, stabs opposing politician*

problem solved.

Oh and I'm reading Debt of Honour by Tom Clancy... not as enthralling as first century politics, i'm sure :D

I havent read "Debt" yet but it is on my list. Will probably be a welcome rest after first century world history. :D

Ooh, I'm a trashy novel reader - Riders by Jilly Cooper, Ralph's Party by Lisa Jewell and Straight Talking by Jane Green.
I'm not that strange reading three books at once - honest!

Dean Koontz, "From the Corner of His Eye"

(edit-another good one so far, as if it wouldn't be)

I'm working on Hornet's Nest by Patricia Cornwell. I've gotten addicted to her books...she's awesome.

I finished that book about 2 days ago. Thought it was one of the best Koontz has written in awhile. Lemme know what you think of it.

I'm reading Spandau Pheonix by Greg Iles (Thanks Rubes :D). This is the first time I've been reading only one book at a time in ages... when's the book club start???

Right now I'm in the middle of "Wild Swans" by Jung Chang. Not what I would normally read, but I've become addicted to it!

I am actually flitting around a few different books.

A History of 20th Century Russia by Robert Service
The Critic as Artist by Oscar Wilde
and
Ovid: The Erotic Poems.

I like history too, OldAlliswd45

Does a Windows 2000 Server book count? I haven't had nearly enough time to read since I started back to school. I've been trying to read "Chicks in Chainmail" for about 8 months now.

Oh Sabbathstorm! Good heavens! No! Oh, forgive me- I should not censor. Alas, I am more than just an IT instructor.

And you are reading MS stuff! Oooo..... learn UNIX, learn UNIX....

THe Art of War by Sun Tzu

We Were Soldiers by Hal Moore

And a small lil gem of a book I got on sale about ancient Egypt;)

Call my school and tell them that...they seem to have their heads up their asses when it comes to courses! They want us to finish our courses in April and then pick up new ones to finish in a month. I hate being the guinea pigs!

We are supposed to be learning Linux Red Hat but our instructor is wasting a lot of time on that. Majority of the class is lost so the one's who understand are bored to death.

You know Cisco has partnered with Sun to introduce a Solaris curriculum. Should be details on your site. Maybe your school will offer it?

R. Hinnebusch & A. Eteshami "The Foreign Policies of Middle Eastern States"

*yawn*

For leisure & pleasure: S. Reeves, "One Day in September" (about the Munich Olympics Massacre)

Halo :rose:

I highly doubt they will. As it is, they don't even know what courses we're supposed to start in April. They are going to make some changes to the program in the near future. Instead of having your concentration set out from the beginning, everyone will start with an introductory year. That was the original plan and they should have stuck to it.

Let's not hi-jack Allis's thread. But since I am here, isn't Nova Scotia where they got that PhD program for Networking? Somewhere in Nova Scotia there is one. It cost bucks, and some of it might be on-line..... PM me a response or start a thread if you want to chat about it.

Allis- I like your sig line. My fantasy is to herd goats in Jamacia. You into ancient history?
