Virtual Literotica Convention 2025 Author Challenge Official Support Thread

I find the limitations on Illustrated stories to be very … limiting.
I can’t draw and we can’t use pictures of people from the internet. (Which is a valid limitation since we don’t have permission to use those photos.)
I have found some public domain pictures that I might be able to use, but they aren’t particularly sexy.
Silkstockinglover uses images created for her by a third party and are CGI so some research might be in order.
Example from 2018 Example from this year Different illustrators, but you would need to ask Silkstockinglover for contact details!

No prob, it was a great read!
Yes, thanks @Bassytian and @FreyaGersemi for commenting on mine! It can be a bit depressing how quickly the interest fades in a new story, so that's all the more reason why we should try and put time in to reflect on each other's stories before moving on completely. I'm a bit distracted preparing for a real-life conference now, but I know it's not going to be as wild and fun as LitCon was!

I very much appreciated my comments from all three of you. Thank you @Actingup @Bassytian and @FreyaGersemi for the kind words.

Oh my god, yes! I was getting kind of down about the drop in viewership on my own. I promise I’ll read, rate, and comment on every convention story. Right now, I’m trying to churn out Part 5, which should be ready to submit either tomorrow or Friday.

This one has taken me longer because I got burned out for a few days and couldn’t make myself write a single sentence! But now my creativity has reignited! Part 5 is going to be a wild one! As Nadia will put it, “it’s like a ‘fuck storm’ has hit the entire building!”

Anyway, good luck with your conference! But don’t try to hold it up to the same standard as the LitCon, nothing can compare! 😂

You are welcome! @FreyaGersemi has left wonderful comments on mine today, I thank her for those! Many others who have participated in this have also commented, I appreciate them all. We all have such interesting ideas and characters, I’m honored to have been a part of this.

If we do this again, consider me a participant!

I think that I would get myself into some seriously career-limiting trouble if I tried to act like I was at LitCon!! Good luck with Part 5 - it sounds like we should be evacuating non-essential staff?

Just to let people know that the Catalog is still getting absolutely crazy numbers of visits, an average of about 1,500 per day last week. So my tip is if you want lots of views, include an image and post as an Illustrated story. But if you want high ratings (currently 3.29 for the Cat) the image(s) had better be sexy! SilkStockingLover has a lot! (just doing research on million plus view Illustrated stories!)
@AlexFourways are you saying my LitCon swag wasn't sexy? 🥺😂

But I get it. I too would expect to see sexy images in an Illustrated story. Give me that smutty comic book! At the same time, I checked out that Romeo story you linked to (and 100% no shade to the author bc I feel like we've all read at least one of silk's stories, if not more), but stink-face guy is killing me and the line just above the image, chef's kiss. 🤣

Also, I had hoped to have something for LitCon beyond my contributions so far, but I was not happy with my first two drafts as I was trying to world and character build as the newbie/outsider with no pre-existing characters, but when Part 1 started to get long I felt like I was just shoehorning in a sex scene at the end just to make it worth it.

Needless to say, I've enjoyed reading some of the other stories, and I may circle back around and try again. Who knows? If not, it was fun being a wallflower during this, which is actually close to my premise; a doe-eyed volunteer who ends up working the con, not fully sure what he got himself into, but ends up meeting some interesting people and enjoying himself along the way.

Try not to get down on something like this. And that goes for anyone reading this!!! As long as you write what you love, then you're a huge success!!! I know that it can be difficult, but try to ignore the numbers. All that matters is that you (the plural form, meaning all of you!) wrote a story that YOU enjoyed and then you dared to share it with the world. And that is an absolutely amazing and magical thing. Enjoy that fact!!!!

I don't know, it might be too late to evacuate anyone. All staff might even be involved! 🤣

Agreed.
Even if I’m not sharing my stories with anyone that I know in real life, I’m writing stories that I want to write.
Awesome points. Writing has helped me battle depression in ways nothing else ever has. It feels like I've finally found a way to bring light to my own darkness, and why not share that light with the world? There's too damn much darkness already!

Damn, there might be an essay in that.

Share light!!!! That's what pretty much all of my work has been trying to do (some more obvious than others).

I'm of the opinion that writing wholesome erotica where people make positive connections, learn about themselves and others, and create love and pleasure without causing harm is a radical act in these times 😍

Hopefully this won't blow my anonymity in a challenge that I have written a story (somewhere else).
In it the man gets a woman drunk with the express intention of not having intercourse with her, despite that being her intent. But he does give her pleasure before she passes out. It seems appreciated that he didn't take advantage, but people don't seem to have realised that he got her drunk(er) because didn't want to as he wanted to get to know her better first.

That is some strong Chaotic Good energy there 🤣

Agreed! That's actually a big part of my main series. The characters have formed strong bonds by meeting, hanging out, and mutually pleasuring each other. It's through these bonds that they support and protect each other during difficult times.

But yeah, I don't get why causing harm is such a popular thing these days. I guess we're all old fashioned, believing in mutual desire and all.

Part 5 is pending, hopefully it'll drop soon! Only one more to go!

This chapter goes off the rails! I'm not even going to try and top it in Part 6. For the finale, I'm going to play around with a romantic subplot that I'm about to introduce into the main Tiafell story, so it will be tame in comparison.

At first, I wanted to include some new characters into the final chapter. I have read a few of the other stories and thought "shit, 'x' would have had great chemistry with 'y'!!". But after thinking about it, it would have been weird and forced. So, I'll be reusing a couple of characters. It's fine though, I love what I have come up with!

Now I have to figure out how to pace it. I'm going for this character realizing their affection for this person may not be as platonic as they thought, but I don't want to end it with "oh my god, I'm in love!!!" either.

Well most of my ideas for this event ended up spilling over to this story. Also @PennyThompson thank you for creative inspiration with emojis. I used them in abundance and they have come mostly right.

Okay, everyone!!!

Thank you all so much for making this Author's Challenge such a success!!! It's a little difficult to count because there are some stories that didn't make the official cutoff date and are still part of the challenge, but we had something around 30-ish contributions!!! Yay!!!!!!

But most of all, it seems like people had fun writing these stories. I know that I had fun reading them all!!!!

Thank you so much!!!!!

I think that I've read them all, commented on them all, rated them all, and followed you all. If I haven't, please let me know!! I've been trying to keep track, but may have missed a couple.

Again, thank you all so very much!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was definitely an interesting challenge and I appreciate that it helped inspire me to write a new story featuring one of my favorite characters to write, so thank you.

Did you count how many you were featured or at least mentioned in? 😉
