2025 Virtual Literotica Convention Story Idea

In real life, the conference organising committee would review all good suggestions like this and use them towards next year’s conference. The same could happen here if our fearless leader is up for it. Theme, location, invited speakers, program, call for abstracts/talks, pre-conference field trips… there’s a lot that could be done!

What you said about locations and field trips reminded me of a passing thought I had over the weekend about a “Literotica Cruise”, basically the convention idea but on a cruise ship. I felt it could be wildly entertaining but it could also be too much like the “Summer Lovin’” Contest in many ways.

I agree on both counts - wildly entertaining, but would need to be carefully constructed, or perhaps with a particular twist. An Antarctic cruise ship, stuck in the ice perhaps? Could still be summer, but not as you know it...

I'm attracted by the conference idea because the organisers can choose how much to constrain it. We left it pretty open this time, but typically a conference would have an overarching theme and topic areas, which could be serious or sensible:
"Sexuality in a post-truth world"
"Pillow fighting for septuagenarians"
"Loving wives - the way forward"

Constraining everybody to a tighter programme could throw up some really interesting ideas that resonate beyond the event itself. A bit premature to discuss perhaps given that we haven't seen the published crop for this event yet, but still...

Oooh you could even make the official event page "story" be more of a diegetic conference schedule!

Once the author community agrees on a set of conference theme tracks, then as they submit event stories the could tag them as one of the tracks. (maybe add a misc. track for really weird meta stuff like what @EmilyMiller is doing?)

Then the event page could organize the stories by track, rather than a single alphabetical list of stories like they usually do!

Yes indeed! And then somebody could write an essay summarising the new thoughts and ideas from the sessions, and publish it as part of the conference proceedings. Although that sounds like a lot of work....

Hi all.

So I have been asked by Emily Miller to make a public declaration that she is NOT allowing other writers the use of her characters, especially her characters "Emily" and "Amy" as featured in many of her stories.

She is currently on hiatus but has had several requests by writers here to use her characters for this event.

While she is flattered, and appreciates that you enjoy her work, she respectfully is declining all requests.

Thank you for your consideration in this matter and for respecting her wishes.

I will probably post this in all threads related to the event to make sure it has been seen.
