My SIL is Romanian, and her grandmother came to visit. She was the original Old Wife, heh. Not a word of English, but she would tell you your future in tea leaves, coffee grounds, the way salt fell after you threw it over your head, how a cat landed after you petted it's head three times...

Now I'm thinking about this recipe. I have the ginger liquor,Domain de Canton. Great stuff. Infused vodka is easy to make, takes about a week. I would suggest Hendricks, which is very cucumber forward, but you hate gin. I grow basil. Yeah, I could make that pretty easily.
