Variations - Words edition...

Well, we've had a few weeks without rhymes now, so hopefully @Cjbdd`s hives have gone down and we can try again 😜

This week, let's have poems about

School

Whether you loved it, hated it, or wanted to teach the RAF to blow it up, we all went to school...

And the form we'll be using is a quintilla.

Quintillas are 5 lines long, and each line has 8 syllables.
The rhyme scheme is ab, where at least 2 lines have the a rhyme, and at least 2 lines have the b rhyme. The last 2 lines can't rhyme with each other...

As always, have fun, and enjoy!

Her heart full of ideas and dreams
That she was ready to achieve.
Razed to ashes with silent screams,
She retreated, heart on her sleeve
With hopes of return in her schemes.

Years passed, the dream never left her.
Marriage, career, house, and fam'ly,
Time continued by in a blur
Until she said, "What about me?"
Then, her degree she did secure.

Class of 2024🎓

I'm late, I know, I know...

It's been a week 🙈

Hopefully I'll do better this week.

Let's keep it short and simple. It's Guy Fawkes night in UK this week (Google it 😉) so this week I'd like poems about

Fireworks

And we'll use a form invented by other people who'd have been very glad if the English were blown up...

This week's form is cywydd deuair fyrion. That's right, it's Welsh...

So these poems can be as short or as long as you like. They're a minimum of 2 lines long, and each pair of lines is a rhyming couplet. Each line is 4 syllables long.

That's it.

Have fun, be creative and enjoy...
