Glass eels?

They are so weird, and that they are born in the Sargasso Sea, then migrating for 1-2 years to our part of the world, where they will spend their life in fresh water, just to travel back into the ocean, breed.. and die!

Oh, and yes! Slippery..

Back when I was a child, I used to go eel fishing with my grandparents (at nighttime) And then my uncle caught a bat (and set it free, he just wanted to show it to me) And I was lost - I loved all of those animals dearly.

they are elvers by the time they get into the Thames, but tiny and so beautiful!

let's not get into the whole "walking over ground to reach water" thing they do!!

bats are wonderful. i watched people trapping them to ring them.

fact - bats always look angry and vicious in photos because they are shouting to echolocate to try and work out their surroundings (and possibly to call other bats). they are actually very sweet and quite fluffy (yes, i have stroked one)

and next - reptiles aren't slimy...

To be fair, bats are definitely a creature of the night which hold a fascination. That may be to do with BBC2 Friday night horror films though

I’ve discovered I actually need a lot more sleep than I ever thought … and it’s fab (apart from fat tabby cat who hasn’t worked out the time changes just yet)

Really? I've watched documentaries on that when they've been on. Some people are mental when they sleep...

Yeah, it was a real experience managing them because it is seen as a real ‘Cinderella service’ but there’s so much science behind it.

I bet it was. I've got sleep Apnoea. Was told I was having 78 "arousal's" (their words not mine) an hour. It's no wonder i was so bloody tired.
