.Evening late night lurkers.
Good evening sir, and I hope all is well. First chance I've had to get on for a few days, but it's only a brief visit I'm afraid.
Good Morning all.... too early in the morning to expect anyone else to be up
Will stick the kettle on anyway
A question for cyclists: anyone any experience of riders with an arthritic knee. Have tried and it hurts like fuck but maybe I am trying to blast along thinking I am in my 20's again rather than 'low gear & go'. Feel I should persists but advice welcomed
Oh....when I picked up milk for the tea, the fella in the shop said 'Newspaper, Nick?'...I replied..'I love you like a brother but you can shove 'em up your arse....if I want to hear bald-faced lies I will go to Dodgy Dave's Car Emporium'...he replied 'Fair enough, Beano & Dandy then?'....and that's what's by the kettle
I always aspired to be like Gnasher...

Cow Pie washed down with decaf'?....you Cymraeg are a weird bunch indeed...at the very least it should be Cow Pie, a jug of gravy and a glass of Dandelion & Burdock
From when I ran, I am always concerned about taking pain-killers before any exertion - relief afterwards, fair enough
....bloody decaf'..... <shakes head>

Decaf not my beverage of choice, rheumatoid arthritis quacks suggest it may do less damage so I'm trying it for a while.
Rheumatoid means I'm in too much pain to even freewheel on a bike just now , what about tiger balm? Stay off voltarol.
Dandelion and burdock, yeah, and I get the 2d deposit on the bottle and will buy a sherbet dip with it.
Cycling probably fits the bill unless you swim. I gave up rugby at 16, match against Millfield, marking a scrum half who I couldn't nail all match, turned out to be Gareth Edwards. I then took to hockey ( field, for the benefit of any yanks) hung up my boots at 50, turned to coaching mini and youth rugby, now all the broken fingers tell me i should have given up hockey much earlier.. nowadays i bask in the glory of my son's sporting achievement and will probably be coaching mini rugby grandchildren when asked.Thank you, Janey...your advice is greatly appreciated especially about the bike fit which - once someone mentions it - makes perfect sense but would have not thought about that.
Ibuprofen: used to use it regularly (especially when I played a lot of golf) then I had a very rapid allergic reaction to it so it's paracetamol for me.
My knee injury started when I was 20 and, since then, I have abused itwell...I think I have had my money's worth out of it! Rugby had to be sidelined, squash was my mainstay for many years then road-running and win my knee couldn't take that any more, golf. I just think that (all round) maybe cycling will give me better exercise....I miss sport!
Thanks again
I have early osteo arthritic changes in my left knee so only really get pain after a long one. I followed someone's advice on here, lower gear higher cadence which helps. I also find warming up and stretching out afterwards makes a difference particularly quads and hip flexors. Funnily enough, tight hip flexors affects how you pedal. Get a bike fit if you're serious about trying to cycle any distance, how your bike is set up affects how you pedal and aligning your knees properly can make a difference. A friend of ours had terrible knee pain and his bike fit recommended shoe inserts, now he cycles pain free.
oh, and I do preload with anti inflammatories because they, you know, lessen inflammation...not enough to stop me feeling the pain of any damage but enough to keep me comfortable. Usually ibuprofen but not everyone can take it.
Funnily enough, getting a new car with a much lighter clutch made a huge difference for me, cold and having the Monkeys big old bus in the winter really causes me problems sometimes
Missing the Bonnie already![]()

Holiday week? Trust all you lurkers and pervy people are having more fun than I am...![]()
Yaawwwwwnn! Morning Lucy
More fun? Probably not![]()
That is sad and worrying... because the fun level here is pretty low!!
Evening everyone.
*waves*
any of you lot make a trump protest? c'mon, surely some of you...
damn, wish i'd been in london still.
However, I did stumble across something on another social media-type platform that read along the lines of a very witty satire. Sadly, 5 minutes in I realised that these people were genuinely welcoming the tangerine wankmaggot to our country.

Apparently there are some people who think he is sane, sensible and we should have a leader like him here..
