No US president has committed security guarantees to Ukraine.Trump being very blatantly pro-Putin....
US President Donald Trump does not want to provide security guarantees to Ukraine until the war is over. He noted that his priorities differ from those of Europe, Sky News informs. The news agency notes that while Ukraine is calling for security guarantees to reach a peace agreement, Trump says he wants the fighting to stop first. "Before I even think about that, I want to settle the war, get it finished... As far as the question about security later, that's the easy part. The hard part is getting it settled," said the US leader.
At the same time, when asked whether Russia is exploiting the US pause in providing aid and intelligence to Ukraine during its recent attacks, Trump said that, in his opinion, Russian President Vladimir Putin "is doing what anyone else would do." "I think he wants to get it stopped and settled, and I think he's hitting them (the Ukrainians - ed.) harder than he's been hitting them, and I think anybody in that position probably would be doing that right now," Trump remarked. Earlier today, President Trump stated that he continues to believe Putin wants to end the war against Ukraine.
Well, that's obvious. He's handicapping Ukraine and encouraging Putin to attack them - which he is - resulting in the murder of more Ukrainian civilians. So Trump now has even more blood on his hands and he's revelling in it. I would say that at this point, Ukraine is very aware of what they're up against, and very likely they're playing their own game here - their attacks in the Donbas are moving ahead after all. I suspect they'll string these negotiations along and see if anything concrete and acceptable comes out of them. They won't be any worse off than they are now and while Russia isn't acknowledging it publicly, they're in a tough position and its getting worse.
