Trump fucks up again. Ukraine negotiation goes sideways

Once again, Trump is talking about leaving NATO.

He says he doubts France would come to the US’ defense if we were attacked. He thinks they’d abandon us like he’s abandoned Ukraine.

He also wants the other members to spend 5% of their GDP on defense. The US spends 3% of GDP on defense.

Of course the actual reason Donnie wants to leave NATO is because it opposes Russia.

Nope. It’s fictional.

And the article states that Zelenskyy is far ahead in polls, contrary to the disinformation spread by the Whiite House.

It’s very possibly true that money has been trousered by hooky Ukranians. Ukraine is trying to come out from under the Soviet mentality - but corruption is part of the fabric.

Are we supposed to believe all the Afghan warlords spent their suitcases full of CIA dollars only after declaring the tax on it ?

Trump's not really a foreign policy guy is he. Now Japan's going to see the writing on the wall and seriouslt remilitarize, and probably build nukes too. Which means South Korea will, which means......

The only time NATO's Article 5, the collective defense provision, has been invoked was following the 9/11/2001 attack against the United States. In response, the NATO countries joined the United States in its war against the Taliban and al-Qaeda in Afghanistan. Where Biden bailed and left them hanging....

Although the botched withdrawal happened under Biden it's worth remembering it was Trump that surrendered to the Taliban in Doha, Qatar in February 2020.

Now he's surrendering to Putin ( over Ukraine's head ) and he's so deluded he thinks he's going to win a peace prize for reneging on the USA's commitment to provide Ukraine with security guarantees for giving up their nukes. And by the way, the economic exploitation ( i.e. forcing Ukraine to sign an unfavourable minerals deal by removing military support ) is a further breach of the USA's commitments.

Now, if there was a Nobel Surrender-Monkey prize Trump would be absolutely nailed on.
I think the J in Donald J. Trump must actually stand for Jessie.

Oh dear. How's Trump going to deal with this one? Have another public tantrum? Tell Putin he's got no cards?

Zaluzhnyi is also the only Ukrainian who polls say could actually beat Zelensky in a post-war election. Zalushyni stands behind the Ukrainian consitution and says there is no possibility of elections until after the war is finished. He's a hard-liner on Russia who was instrumental in building and reforming the Ukrainian Armed Forces into a military that would and does stand up to Russia. "The Iron General"

Trump being very blatantly pro-Putin....

US President Donald Trump does not want to provide security guarantees to Ukraine until the war is over. He noted that his priorities differ from those of Europe, Sky News informs. The news agency notes that while Ukraine is calling for security guarantees to reach a peace agreement, Trump says he wants the fighting to stop first. "Before I even think about that, I want to settle the war, get it finished... As far as the question about security later, that's the easy part. The hard part is getting it settled," said the US leader.

At the same time, when asked whether Russia is exploiting the US pause in providing aid and intelligence to Ukraine during its recent attacks, Trump said that, in his opinion, Russian President Vladimir Putin "is doing what anyone else would do." "I think he wants to get it stopped and settled, and I think he's hitting them (the Ukrainians - ed.) harder than he's been hitting them, and I think anybody in that position probably would be doing that right now," Trump remarked. Earlier today, President Trump stated that he continues to believe Putin wants to end the war against Ukraine.

Well, that's obvious. He's handicapping Ukraine and encouraging Putin to attack them - which he is - resulting in the murder of more Ukrainian civilians. So Trump now has even more blood on his hands and he's revelling in it. I would say that at this point, Ukraine is very aware of what they're up against, and very likely they're playing their own game here - their attacks in the Donbas are moving ahead after all. I suspect they'll string these negotiations along and see if anything concrete and acceptable comes out of them. They won't be any worse off than they are now and while Russia isn't acknowledging it publicly, they're in a tough position and its getting worse.
