After such heavy and continuous criticism of American Homeland Security and the Patriot Act, Amicus notes the lack of comment from the usual suspects.

Ahem....

It's August and they are on vacation. ;) Welcome back.

Don't know enough about it to bitch yet. I prefer to know what I'm talking about when I do.

When I've read up on what it's about, I'll be back. Beware, beware.

We're Americans. It's our patriotic duty to ignore what's going on in other countries and think only of our own pleasure.

So, this is about the RFID chip that's been going on forever, the fact that you had fantastic sex as the bottom to Tony Blair, the fact you had a four-way with Blair, Bush, and Bin-Ladin that was so fantastic you switched your name to Bamicus so that the alliteration would be maintained, what?

I believe ami's referring to the deportation of any individuals known to frequent certain websites, or who foment violence unto others.

RFID RFID RFID next big wave, catch it if you can.

Ah, yeah. That won't backfire . So they're going to kick out the neonazi gangs and soccer hooligans? No wait, I'm thinking like someone who believes laws apply to people equally.

Er, no. Only if they're neonazi Islamic gangs and Islamic soccer hooligans.

Never fear, they'll be after you soon enough. That RFID chip in your neck will tip them off to your whereabouts.

For the completely lost, what's an rfid chip?

From Wikipedia:

"Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) is a method of storing and remotely retrieving data using devices called RFID tags or transponders. An RFID tag is a small object, such as an adhesive sticker, that can be attached to or incorporated into a product, animal, or person. RFID tags contain antennas to enable them to receive and respond to radio-frequency queries from an RFID transceiver. Passive tags require no internal power source."

They can be stickers or other types of tags, usually placed in pets, library books, airline baggage tracking, etc. In the tech industry, they've been talking about them forever, particularly as applied to supply chain (tracking products from order to sale), manufacturing and warehouse (parts and pallets)...Wal-Mart is a big fan. So many uses, but no one has figured out how to make the REALLY big bucks from the technology yet. But they will...

The one I switched for the one in Blair's neck? Oh good this should be fun. Quick, help me log on to as many extremist Islamic sites as possible.

A Radio Frequency ID (RFID) chip is a very small device used to identify objects to a radio device. Retail stores are beginning to use them to prevent shoplifting. An RFID chip can be made small enough to be implanted without real visibility in a human being. Thus, Big Brother can really watch if he requires at least certain people to wear an RFID chip. [No, dammit, George Orwelll did not invent the RFID chip, it was one of the pigs in Animal Farm.]

I'm in favour of the movement. There are non-British citizens, who are actively recruiting terrorist cells in Britain. If they are not British citizens, then they are here at our pleasure and if they are fomenting revolt, then that pleasure should be revoked tout suit.

I have no problem with deporting trouble-making foreign nationals.

The Earl

JOI: What is the problem with deporting foreign nationals? They are here on our sufferance and quite frankly, I'm delighted to see legislation that with deport those who don't see it as a privilege.

You don't like Britain? Right, then fuck off somewhere else. You either make some attempt at integration and peaceable living, or you don't stay in the country. If you've got a bent for an Islamic state, there's one called Iran, just one flight away.

Such beautiful tolerance, Earl.
