"To have"
Over a long period of time
Is what it is to become ignorant

And - what it is to eventually
Become blind

Yet - for those who "have not"
Those who are forgotten
Those who become "used"
And those who feel so "left behind"

What else have "they" got
What do "they" have to hold on to

Only a seething hatred
For all those - who seem to claim "the good lot of life"

Charity alone - this does not work
Fore - it is education
Social elevation
Social evolution
And most important
What it is to turn sand into dirt
That is "the key"

Know that
This is what "will always work"

Yet "to have" is of course
Not necessarily what it takes
"To see, to know"

And "this" is the basic problem
Of social complacency
And lack of social responsibility

And now
It seems to late

And that
So far
Seems to be the nature
Of our human existence
