They got two of the recent Internet worm dweebs. Am I right in saying that nearly ALL this shit is possible because of how crappy Microsoft's programming is?

LONDON Feb. 7 —

Two men were arrested Thursday on suspicion of being part of an international group that police blamed for damaging computer systems worldwide through a virus-like Internet worm.

A 19-year-old electrician was held in Darlington,
northeastern England, and a 21-year-old unemployed man was in custody in nearby Durham in an operation involving the U.S. Secret Service, the FBI, the Department of Justice and Britain's National Hi-Tech Crime Unit.

Authorities say the two men are part of an international gang of Internet hackers who call themselves the "THr34t-Krew."

Outlook Express is the worm's favourite transport system.

Gates has, like, 60 gazillion dollars, right? And he still can't fix the fucking glitch that permits hackers to crash the ENTIRE Internet?

I love my Mac.

Bill gates is satan.

I'm just a buyer of satan's products

One must keep in mind that the anti-virus industry is extremely lucrative and therefore a safe operating system would not be welcomed by those companies.

Perhaps we have some questionable deals taking place behind closed doors.

They haven't caught me yet!

My next codec will be the best ever!!!

I'd hate to think that these type of deals are happening. But then reality sets in and it seems likely. Greed. Why rush to fix something when you can make money off band aid fixes like anti virus software.

Nope. Not Hanns. This is a mark of intelligence.

Dixon - You're right. MS software is full of dangerous holes, many of which they refuse to fix.

Also take this in point - They've released several patches for their various server configs that they've neglected to install on their own servers.

Oops.

"Perhaps" is also what gives hope to every crackpot conspiracy theory web site on the planet.

Aliens killed JFK to prevent him from colonizing mars.

It seems as though one cannot comment without being attacked.
