This will be of no importance to anyone, but me.

But please help me anyway?

I'm making soaps for use by men, and this line is new to me. The problem I'm having is naming them...I can't think of anything. Usually I name the soaps by their ingredients, but for some reason, that just isn't hitting me right. This particular one I am working on now is for glam, but probably won't be his exclusively....he simply inspired it.

This is all I've come up with...

Male Bar

Rugged

Any ideas? Also, does anything about the name of a soap sell you when you're deciding to buy it, or is it all about scent?
See, I need something more than scent to sell it, for online purposes....so, does the name appeal to you any?

Thanks!

Men don't want to smell trendy. Stick with Musk, Sport, Talc, Leather, Surf and Unscented. We don't really care about any other distinction as far as the name goes.

What we dig is a cool looking bottle and a free Blockbuster Movie Rental.

You men don't want my "Macho Oatmeal Ambrosia Spice Extrodainaire" Soap?

What is wrong with that?

how about "Drop Me"

it issssss inspired by glam, after all.

HAAAAAAAAAAAA! The *yawn* joke!!!!!!!!! Fucking absolutely KILLS me every time! Genius mother-fucker! Genius! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

*yawn*

lol, you guys are too cute!:) DCL, I don't hav any cool bottles for my soaps, nor do I have any Blockbuster deals...how about a complimentary keychain flashlight?:)
Who'd have thought men needed perks like this?:)

The soap base is avocado/cucumber and I am adding dried kelp to it. The scents are chamomile, eucalyptus, patchoulli and vanilla. (I use the vanilla to counteract a bit of the strength of the scent from the eucalyptus.)

I'm also making one that is just patchoulli and eucalyptus, as he requested. I don't have a name for either.

Thanks!

How about

Clean?

yeah I know...I am soo creative today

Actually, I like it. I like simple names...I call my product line "Simply Fresh".

Thank you...

OK, I can't find my dictionary...what does turgid mean?:)

Uhoh...

Lets call it another word for "erect"

How about MALE?

I guess I am about as creative as jadedpast, sheesh!

You want to use action words or names that imply a feeling or a place. People buy cosmetics often based on their perception of what they will do for them or how it will portray them…

Endurance
Spirit
Musk
Triumph

I don’t know, you get the idea….

Yes, I do. That is exactly what I was looking for because I need to know what appeals to men. Its a tricky thing for me...to try to sell based on a name when I am such a cynic as a shopper. I don't buy based on a name, its appealing, but it isn't what sells me. With soap I go by scent first, and how unique it is, and then the ingredients.

Side bar: Trail said something interesting to me. He thinks customizing the soaps is the way to go, that people, especially the wealthy (which is who he feels I should eventually appeal to) want something one of a kind, so they can say "no one else has this, but me."

BM...I like that too, thats why I chose Male Bar...but maybe "male" is better. It has a certain something....

What about outdoor type names ?

Mountain Peak

Trail Blazer

something like that ?

Or go with the element type maybe ...

Fire

Rain

Wind

Sun

Earth

Sky

For men I would stay away from foo foo names. Men seem to like one or two word product names. At least most of the ad's I see for mens products are simple and straight forward.

I just got a book on soap making. Maybe we could trade recipies ?

lol@ Trail blazer!:D He'll like that one!

I do like the elements especially....I would like for them to be relative to the product, so I will have to think on it a bit. Thanks very much...nice.:)

I'd be happy to share recipes, and a few links to soapmaking sites, if you're interested?

Thank you...
