The video game thread

For no particular reason, I'm letting you know that I finished Eternal Darkness and am now replaying it to see the "special" ending when you beat it 3 times.

I highly recommend this game. Especially when you are high on meds and you lose all of your sanity.

That was the best game I played in a while.

I really wasn't all that impressed with D2, but then again, I'm more of a console person than a PC person. But I'll always play Age of Empires II: Conquerors.

I recently started re-playing Legend of Zelda, Link to the past, for the snes (emulator, although I have my orignal snes kicking around here somewhere). Still fun.

Ocarina of Time was great, but A Link to the Past was the best of the lot. Good gameplay, and not overly long. But the most fun I've had in any Zelda game was in OoT when you have to find your doppleganger. That battle was always interesting.

Hey david, you do relaize that ALOT of people are saying that FF8 is the worst of the series, right?

All this is IMO but, FF8 was easily the worst game in the FF series. Just something about sitting in the same battle with a really weak enemy drawing the same thing over and over until you get a decent amount. The magic system killed the entire game. Also the card game sucked big time. But the worst thing you almost had to play it in order to get some of the weapons or spells that you almost need to beat the game. I must admit it looked awsome graphic wise, and the sound was pretty cool. Just the gameplay to me sucked and that pretty much killed the game for me.

Don't make me pull up those 2 cans and a string that Lion posted that PS2 will use to compete against XBL. :p

Yeah, I've heard that a lot too, although the only thing I thought that was bad about it, was the sewers section (I really hate that section), the rest of the game was excellent, and IMO, it's the best FF of the lot.

I played the whole game and never did the card game.

I could not figure the stupid thing out.

I think FF Tactics was the best with FF7 behind that one.

FFT was pretty kick ass but my personal fav was FF6 (3 on the SNES). That game just kicked ass on so many levels. Closely followed by FF1 and then FFIX. I haven't played FFX due to a lack of PS2.

I haven't played all the final fantasy's, even tho I would really like to.

I started the 3rd disc of FF8 and said fuck it.

Same thing with FF9, but only because I didn't have time to finish, that was actully a game game thus far.

And I still personally love FF7.

And I could never really get into FFT.

FFT was the best I am hoping they make another one.

Another one that is really good is Wild Arms or Tactics Ogre

So I'm guessing that nobody here has seen the previews for Legaia 2?? I think one person responded and sent the thread into a FF/RPG spin *L*

Woo hoo I believe this is my 1000th post. Yay me :D

Congrats are in order Tap..

As for the whole RPG/FF thing.. I've never played any of the FF games, or Zelda, or any other RPG game other than Kings Quest on the PC (That can be called an RPG right?) because they have just never apealed to me.

That said though I hope Xbox gets more RPG titles so I can check some out.

Funny... I loved the magic drawing system, and the card game made it extra brilliant IMO. Which is strange I guess (put it this way... when the only thing I liked about Star Wars: Phantom Menace was Jar Jar Binks... you again see I liked what everyone else hated).

But still, I loved that card game, more importantly, I was wishing they would bring it out as a stand alone thing, like magic The Gathering, where you could buy them in packs and stuff :D.

I played Magic the Gathering on the PS

My new theme song is Shane McMahon's theme. Its SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO money. :D

So, who's ready for the new Shinobi for the PS2?

Which, by the way Cibo, rules, its X-Box that sucks. You slave to Bill Gates you.:D

Yes, FF6 was the best in the series. Good characters, good music, great story, excellent development, just a lot of pluses all around.

Hey, I liked FF8 as well, the card game was classic, but there were a lot of character problems (characters who just should out one word at a time like "NO", and "RAGE" just don't make a lot of sense to me)

Oh come on... you HAD to start laughing when you had the Siepher (sp?), Squall & Zell cut scene on the way to the first area for the training... that was just a classic moment, I loved all of FF8, other than the end of the 1st disc... those damned sewers.

You poor poor soul you. My deepest condolences. However if you want a REAL magic game I'll accept any and all apprentice duels.
