For no particular reason, I'm letting you know that I finished Eternal Darkness and am now replaying it to see the "special" ending when you beat it 3 times.

I highly recommend this game. Especially when you are high on meds and you lose all of your sanity.

I could never, EVER, get into RPG's...i was first exposed to the abomination which is an RPG way back in the days of the original NES, with Dragon Warrior. Still cant stand them to this day.

And hey, Shinobi is out!! Yet another thing to add to my birthday present list...

Oh yeah, i forgot to mention, i finally beat that fuckin boat race in Vice City...now i've gotta save Lance Vance, and even though thats a pain in the ass, its alot more fun than the boat race

Dragonwarrior was my first exposeure to the god awful "turn based" fighting system. fuck that, it was HORRIBLE, i remember battling this huge ass scorpion thing, and it killed me in like a second, it blew! i hate RPG's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To me I enjoyed Dragonwarrior, especially since I was like 7 or 8 at the time, heh.

And I THINK I got pretty far in it, not sure tho. Almost wants me to find my old NES and the game and kick it's ass now.

Dude, RPG's suck ass, they dont kick it. I was all about getting into FF when 7 and stuff came out...but i played once, and was like "fuck this!" Like i said, Dragonwarrior can burn in video game hell forever as far as i'm concerned.

And thanks, its about time i hit 1,000. and like half of those are in this thread

If you want a hack and slash rpg, check out Zelda, or better yet, Secret of Mana, my personal favorite. Although I hear Kingdom Hearts has good gameplay.

I'm more of an ATB fan (FF series hardcore over here).

Yeah, FFX was pretty great. Definitely up there on the suggestion list. But for older stuff, I say go with Secret of Mana(SNES). Don't get Legend of Mana(PS) thinking it's something similar, it's not the same type of gameplay.

Oh it's definitely a good game, just no SOM, but LOM has excellent music, which is what really hooks me about a game. If it has great music, I'll probably end up loving it, even if it's total garbage.

On the RPG comments... I for the record, LOVE RPG's. I really want to play Kingdom Hearts (please look past the Disney element.) It's supposed to be excellent (and is released this Friday in England), plus... cameo's by other Disney characters, but more importantly, Final Fantasy characters... including Sephiroth!!! .

I've played it recently and it's a lot of fun. Realtime battle system like Diablo 2 and such, where you can hack and slash repeatedly and not have to worry about doing less and less damage. Voicing was good in my opinion and visuals are stunning.

I should go into game review. I'm not basing that on what I've said above, but because I usually write about these things, why games are good, positive points, negative points, etc. I like writing, especially about something I enjoy.

Hehe, I'm the same, and just like some reviewers in magazines, I go on and on too . Of course... the fact you now need damned A levels just to write computer game reviews, it's kinda dumb, to be honest, the best reviewers (IMO) would be those that have spent years just playing games... the better ones would be those who actually put their gaming above most other things. I've often said "Ah screw it" when it comes to having to leave the game to do something else... I just sit there playing instead, hehe.

Fair enough (about Zelda), but you do have to rest at inns and stuff in Mana. Trust me, play Secret of Mana, whether you have to go out and buy it from an old game shop or ebay, or just download the emulator, play it, it's good, simple fun.

Dragonwarrior is overrated anyway.

Heh, Zelda is definatly an RPG (Ocarina Of Time = grooveworthy , although I still prefer FF8, and FF8 has the best song of all time in a game - Eyes On Me by Faye Wong (read: download... NOW! )). Great RPG stuff too, the one on the SNES owned.

As for Diablo 2, I actually preferred the 2nd. It had everything from the first, and more, that was it, it was the first one, with updated everything .
