Abraham Lincoln is the first President known to have used the word "cool" in a speech with same meaning we assign to it today. The exact quote:

That is cool. Referencing a delineated list of accomplishments by local politicians in New York in 1863.

So he coined a pretty good phrase so early on... Just imagine what kids in one hundred years are going to be saying about shrub??
