The Underworld

Dianna raised her eyebrows, stepping back slightly as the vampire walked towards her then gave Tori advice about the leaves. He was a vampire, she reminded herself. There was no trusting vampires, after all if you could trust a vampire then what were slayers around for. Besides, this wasn't Buffy the Vampire Slayer and even if it was, wasn't the vampire evil in the end.

He was hot though. Quickly shaking that thought from her mind, she turned her attention to Tori who was talking. She still seemed a bit frazzled by the different emotions around her.

"I think we need to go, try and figure this out before anything else happens tonight."

Dianna nodded in agreement. "I'm totally for that." Tonight had definitely been the weirdest of nights. Dianna stuck her stake back in the side compartment of her cargo pants and slipped the gun back in her boots. She then headed back to her dorm room along with Tori.

Raphael walked back to the car Ivanna was still at the wheel, he climbed into the car, she had her weird music on. Something including violing and weird thumpings.

"Please tu..." before he could finish she had the music off "Thank you, back to the hotel now"

She started to drive back, after a second seeing he wasn't going to communicate she asked "I know it didn't go as well you hoped, still what happened?"

"The empath practically ignored me, I did give her some advice... she nearly passed out when she stabbed the werewolf."

"and the slayer?"

"Nearly the same, she made it a point that she wouldn't have a vampire as an ally, still she didn't attack me, so it isn't that bad... she will be a challenge, I like that." He was silent for a moment before adding "I really think that I need to get her alone, she will lower her guard somewhat if she isn't protecting someone else."

"I'll find you the opening Raphael, I promise"

"I know you will, and yeah, you can put those weird noises back on"

David Burn

David was quite happy with how the food turned out, he should actually remember the recipe that he used if the food tasted as good as it smelled. Leaving the stove on heating he went through the cupboards until he found a bottle of wine.

"Ha! Never thought she'd have a Gewurztraminer around"

He placed the bottle on the counter, got an ice bucket out and dumped ice in, after refilling the ice containers and placing them in the fridge he wormed the bottle of wine in between the ice cubes and got out two wine glasses and a bottle opener. He walked to the dining/living area and stood at the window looking outside, he could hear the wind and the sound worried him.

"Come on David get a grip of yourself"

He turned and started to set the table, whistling his favorite tune as he worked. He smiled as he worked, remembering how many evenings he helped Asha doing just this. He continued to whistle, listening to the sound of the wind moaning outside

Tori followed Dianna back into their rooms and dropped down on her bed,her hand going to rub her temples. " Sorry about tonight,Dianna."Tori whispered an apology to her friend before she stood and began to strip down to her boy shorts and tank top. She ran a hand through her short mussed hair and walked over to the window, looking out over the campus.

"It was weird tonight..."She began trying to analyize everything that had happened. " I havent had that many emotions wash over me like that. The wolves tonight were not normal."She said turning to sit back down on the bed looking at Dianna. "They seemed almost like they were being controlled...there was no real emotion from them until I killed theat one." She said shuddering as she recalled how that had felt.

"But the Vampire..he..well I cant place it. He didnt feel threatening tonight."She said as she watched Dianna face for a reaction to those words. "It felt as if he was sizing us up." She said lying back on the bed, closing her eyes. She soon had drifted off before she could hear any reply from Dianna.

Her dreams soon began, but it wasnt of their fight. It was the one who had passed them by. The wolf who had scented them over then moved deep into the forest. She felt him, could almost feel his furred body wrapped around hers. His body dwarfing her is size, his hands could wrap around her neck easily. She could almost feel the scrape of his fur on her soft skin, the scratch of a sharp claw. She could feel him but that was all,she couldnt sense anything about how he felt.

She turned on her bed to sleep on her stomach, one hand under her pillow, the other next to her cheek. The dream shifted... the vampire now floated across her mind,he seemed to ignore her as he moved towards someone else. She couldnt see but knew he was heading to Dianna but why? She tossed and turned as other wolves and vampires haunted her dreams, finally her dreams stopped, her mind actually able to rest as she fell into a deep restful sleep.

Asha had made it to her apartment building. She looked good with a tank under a jacket, jeans that hugged her ass, and high heeled boots. It was the heat and the murderous look in her eyes that caused men and women to double take or rethink approaching her. Sruvival instinct kicking in. Only one idiot had been too drunk to recongize she was in a murderous rage and approached her with some slurred come on. She was tempted to kill him and he backed off as her hips sashayed towards him. He yelled something about monster and ran off. Asha wasn't sure what her face looked like. It could be half changed for all she knew. She touched her face twice to make sure no snout was coming. It seemed normal enough.

Asha yanked hard on the door to her building. She heard the bolts strain and she had to mentally calm herself down. She marched to the elevator that lead to the penthouse. She heard the desk man say something, but she waved in response. Probably a greeting. Asha was more than hungry as she waited for the elevator. She had some steaks, but they were frozen. Maybe she could whip up some pasta. Damn. Asha wasn't a good cook. She never had to cook before. She had cooks who did that for her. Since living on her own she wanted to do all that stuff herself. The only thing she managed to do decently was grill steaks.

Asha smiled remembering David as she entered the elevator. A sweet little human who seemed to make her feel better. He was funny and though she sucked in the kitchen (literally too) he made everything she touched turn out ediable. David, her friend. They weren't dating, just friends. Friends who had wild sex. She was beginning to think he was more than just human, though the thought had seem absurd before tonight's meeting. She had gotten carried away with their last fucking. Been a little too hard and he hadn't broken, bruised yes, but she hadn't broken his bones. Than again she made sure to be careful with humans so maybe subconciously she was careful. Gah! She didn't know.

The doors opened and she stepped in to her home. It smelled really good and her stomach grumbled. The smell of food overpowered the smell of anything else. She slowly walked towards her kitchen to see food and David. "David?" Asha blinked not sure if her mind had conjured this image and she was in fact going crazy. After tonight she would believe it.

David Burn

"David?"

David turned from having opened the now cooled wine to find Asha looking at him like he's some sort of mirage. He smiled at her and settled the wine back into the bucket

"Hey princess, I was hoping you'd be along some time soon"

He walked around the kitchen island and he her eyes followed him with that same look. He stopped in front of her, then rested his hand on her cheek and kissed her deeply, he could feel her lips respond before he pulled away and smiled calmly at her.

"No I'm not a hot ghost here to seduce you, it really is me. Wash up I made you my bolognaise, you must be starving by now, judging by the way you normally eat during the day"

With that he fetched the dish and carried it along with the ice bucket to the dining table.

"Don't worry about it!" Di said to Tori as she collapsed on her own bed. As Tori began talking about how weird it was tonight and about how many different emotions ran through her that night, Di shook her head, profusely "You can't help that you were born an empath, just like I can't help being born a slayer. We can't help who our parents were."

"Ya know sometimes I think we were cursed with our lives don't you?" Silence. "Tori?" Dianna glanced over and saw that Tori had fallen asleep and sighed. Tori had had a long night so it was fine that she had fallen asleep. She was right though, it had been a weird night. Normally, werewolves didn't come looking for trouble, normally Dianna found them and killed them herself. That vampire though, he was odd. Normally, vampires didn't come offering help especially to her a slayer.

When they knew she was a slayer they tried to kill her not help her. Yawning, Dianna stretched and laid down on her bed, cuddling up under her covers. Sleep began to cloud her judgement. She hadn't realized how tired she was. Of course, with all of her nightmares it figured that she was tired. "Hopefully I won't have any more nightmares..." she mumbled before sleep took over.

Leo Storm

Leo's dreams were haunted with memories of that empath. He knew nothing of what she looked like, yet could still feel her mind against his, and it almost seemed like he was curled around her, his fur brushing against her. A wave of desire swept through him.

Leo woke with a start. It was still dark out. He rarely has a deep sleep anymore, as he traveled often. He sat up slowly, thinking over his dreams. That empath...I need to find her, he thought to himself. A human...not one of his kind? He shook his head, clearing his thoughts. A light rain had fallen while he slept, so he shook the rain out of his fur. He brought his foot up to scratch his ear again, then stood to smell out his food. There were several deer grazing not too far away from where he was. A mile or two, maybe. He stretched and took off in that direction. The deer sensed him just a tad too late. With practiced ease, Leo clawed the buck's legs out from under him and tore out his throat. He laid down on the ground next to the corpse, one paw on it's chest. He let the others go, not interested in harming the doe or the young ones.

He ate in silence, and was quickly finished. He wiped his paws on the ground and started back towards town slowly. He remembered the empath's smell more easily than he thought. He dropped down a small wall to the area where the fight took place. He raised his nose slightly, smelling for the one he sought. Finding the trail, he quietly moved along, following the path through town. The path seemed to take him along the most unpopulated routes, as he saw no one along his way. There was a building up ahead that seemed like the right one. Leo moved up to it, sniffing around the outside. Her scent was strong here. He silently padded up the stairs to the door on the far left. Definitely hers. He then moved back down the stairs. The door was for the first floor room on the left side, so he should be able to see her through one of the windows.

He stood up on his hind legs and looked through the first window. A living room. He moved to the second. Kitchen. He was thinking on how big this apartment is when he he looked through the third one and finally saw her. She was sleeping in a bed just to the other side of the slayer. One hand next to her cheek, the other under the pillow. He wondered how it would feel for her to sleep against him. He shook his head, attempting to clear the thought. He stayed there, content to just look at her, and waited for the sun to rise.

"Raphael are you sure about this? I don't mean any disrespect, and I know she didn't attack you but meeting her in the dreampath is dangerous."

"What is she going to do? I'm sure she doesn't have any control of her dreams."

"My point exactly, the danger comes from what she can't control, what will you do if a nighmarish werewolf comes out of the blue?"

"It's not like I'm new at entering other people's dreams, if you are so unsure about it you can keep watch, now light the damn candle!"

"Alright, you don't need to scream" with that Ivanna lit a blue candle, it's vapors started to fill the room. Ivanna started to hum softly and as he laid down she applied some oil on his forehead.

Raphael focused, pushing the thoughts away from his mind, it was true that it was dangerous, that was the only reason he had used the candle and the oil, that would be enough to keep him safe.

Slowly his mind drifted and after what he felt was a close encounter to the empath's mind, he found Dianna, she was dreaming.

In her dream he had the opportunity he had lost earlier in the night, the werewolf had just murdered her mother and was now launching itself towards Dianna, Ivanna's warning had become true very early, he was going to take advantage of it however.

He moved into the dream appearing behind the werewolf and shot him with the revolver, he kept moving however, leaving him no choice but to hit him on the head with his silver headed cane. This made the werewolf fall.

"Finish him Dianna, you have been waiting for this"

The nightmare had come back again. Dianna had been at a party and Tori had rushed to her side, "Di, your mother she's being attacked by...some kind of dog." Her mothers earlier warnings about monsters, specificallys vampires and werewolves came to mind and Dianna rushed out of the dorm room without another word.

In an instant, she had materialized from the dorm room party to a field where her mom laid dead, blood oozing from her moms body and the werewolf growling while looking at her. She shook with fear, it was coming to get her, wasn't it? It was after her next, oh god. Dianna snapped her eyes shut, waiting for the werewolf to attack as she always did during this part of the nightmare. Sweat beaded down her forehead and down her neck. She was going to die and all because she hadn't listened to her...

BAM!

Her eyes snapped open and there behind the werewolf stood the vampire that she'd seen earlier that night when she'd been patrolling with Tori. "Wha--" No, this wasn't right! He wasn't supposed to be in her dream! She was supposed to get killed and wake up drenched in sweat and moody. "You are not supposed to be here." Dianna snapped, "I told you, I don't need your help." Dianna growled, glaring at the vampire, "Hasn't anyone told you its rude to...to be in other peoples dreams?"

"Oh, I'm sorry, you wanted to get killed?" He said as he walked towards her getting very close.

"You say it's rude but you let me in, after all you are the one dreaming of me Dianna, vampires don't dream at night."

He went to the side and stepped behind her moving close once more, whispering in her ear "Are you going to finish the werewolf or let him live so he can go back to haunt you?"

He took a risk and brushed her hand as he placed his cane on her hand "Go ahead, I'll lend you my cane"

Dianna's fists clenched, still angry at his intrustion. "It's a fucking dream! I'm not gonna get killed, I'm gonna wake up in a few minutes pissed, Tori's gonna ask me 'Did you have that same dream again?', I'm gonna act as if I didn't hear a thing, like I always do. She's going to act like she didn't say a word and not push me at all. Secondly, I did not DREAM you into my dream." She frowned, did she dream him into her dream? No, no NO! Of course not, why in the hell would she dream some fucking vampire that she didn't even know into her dream? "Even if I did, its only because I'm trying to see how it would work out if I allowed you to help, but obviously since I can't seem to stop fighting with you, it wouldn't work out very well."

She shivered slightly as he whispered in her ear. She blamed it on the coldness in the dream, not on sexiness of the vampire. She had never been attracted to dead guys before and wasn't about to start now. When he brushed his hand across hers she jerked her hand back, glaring at his. "I have a gun, thank you very much. " Then she shot it at the werewolf. Something she normally didn't do when she had this dream and Dianna was very much aware of this. "Now, even though I'm dreaming, I do have a stake. Want me to use that next?"

"Congratulations on taking him down" he said "I knew all you needed was some nudge to do the right thing... are you sure I didn't help you? When you wake this time it'll be different"

"Now, even though I'm dreaming, I do have a stake. Want me to use that next?"

For a response he dropped his cane to the floor and grabbed her by the wrists, not hard enough to hurt her but hard enough to keep her under control and pulled her close to him, pressing his body against her back.

The whispered in her ear as a justification "I do have to stop you from killing me Dianna" As he said this he kept holding her tight against his body controlling her hands.

"Yes, I'm sure you didn't help me! I pulled the trigger not you and I didn't use your cane."

Before Dianna even knew what was happening, she was slightly bound by the vampires hands, his body pressed against hers. Dianna almost felt like she couldn't breath and had to remind herself to breathe in and then breathe out. What had he meant that when she woke up things would be different? His body was pressed tightly against her back and he was keeping a controlled grip on her wrists.

"Let go!" Dianna growled, "You know this is considered slayer handling--ya know like man handling..and...fuck, just let me go, i'm feeling very violated here!"

"I do have to stop you from killing me Dianna" Came Raphael's controlled whisper.

"Why is that? Scared I'll kick your ass even in a dream?" she taunted.

Had it not been a slayer he would have started kissing her neck, but given who he was with he knew such thing would make her panic about him biting her, so he did something else instead, he pulled up from her hands twisting her, turning her face towards his.

"Actually" He said staring into her eyes "I'm more scared of being unable to control myself" he added before pulling her in from the neck and kissing her deeply.

She might not give in easy, or soon, but he would make sure that before the night was over she woud be left with some things to ponder.

"I'm more scared of being unable to control myself"

Dianna was expecting him to attack when he'd turn her to face him, which would've been extremely noble for a vampire, because most vampires would've taken advantage of the situation and attacked from behind. However, he was different. He proved it by doing something she hadn't expected. She gasped as he kissed her. This wasn't just any kiss either, this was like an ' I wanna fuck you ' kiss

THIS WAS NOT BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER and Dianna was definitely not a stupid blonde slayer who fell madly in love with the first hot vampire who kissed her. Doing the first thing that came to mind...okay the second thing that came to mind (because the first thing that came to mind was to kiss back) she lifted her knee and jabbed him in the groin and pulled away. "I did NOT give you permission to kiss me!" she snapped. "That was definitely violation! Next time, I'm definitely staking your ass!"

Dianna jolted awake, sweaty and gasping for breath. That stupid vampire was wrong. She would not wake up differently. She was still waking up with ragged breath and sweaty.

"I told you so" said Ivanna

"Drop the tone, I tell you that I wasn't in any danger"

"Had she been more strong willed you would have gotten flung out of her dream, with maybe serious damage, you must remember that she is a slayer"

"She can't control her dreams, hadn't it been for me the werewolf would have killed her again. She doesn't have anyone to teach her about the dreampath, she is probably on her bed now wondering why she was dreaming of me"

"I still think you took an unnecessary risk, and you should have seen the pained look on your face when you came back." Then she raised her shoulders "Still I know you will do it again when you think it's appropiate, just please let me keep watch" He didn't answer her so she went on "I'll let you know if anything comes out about the empath being able to feel you... also you should know that some weird werewolf activity seems to be brewing, the local pack is trying to lure in the rogue ones, I think they are scared of something... I have no idea of what yet."

Asha went to her bedroom at David's prodding. She took a quick shower. She wasn't sure how many miles she walked to get home, but she was sure she smelt pretty ripe. Her hair clung to her back as she put on a different black speghetti strap tee and a pair of short shorts with the words Juicy on the butt: lounging around the house clothes.

Asha came out to see the table set. That was one other thing she liked about David. Normally, she would have to watch her appetite. She ate 3 times as much as the normal human male and that's when she wasn't starving like now. David never said a word. She assumed he assumed that she was bulemic. Eating tons then throwing it up later. Asha chuckled to herself. If only he knew that she didn't.

Asha walked to David and kissed him on the lips, "Thank you." She inhaled his scent and for a moment she stiffened. He smelled like the outdoors always a scent she loved, but so did that young pup. Was... Asha laughed. It was probably his cologne or something. She had mentioned she loved the smell of the great outdoors and David always smelled so good. "I love the way you smell. If I wasn't so hungry I would skip to dessert."

She smiled and gave him a seductive look as she sashayed towards her chair and sat down. She reached forward and started laddeling food onto her plate. It smelled so good. She took a small bite and moaned with pleasure. "This is delicious. You always cook so well."

Tori woke up as she heard Dianna gasping for breath, groggily she looked over at her friend. Trying to get her own eyes to focus from her own troubled sleep, she sat up on the bed. "Dianna?"She asked softly running a hand through her hair then looking at the clock. It was only 3 am.

"Everything okay?"She asked as she felt her friends distress and went to sit on the edge of her bed. Her hand touched Dianna's softly and could feel the energy pouring off of her. "You need to calm down..take a deep breath."She whispered softly as she rubbed the spot between her thumb and forefinger.

She rubbed the nerve point ,hoping to help her friend relax. She watched Dianna with her own worried eyes. " I had a nightmare too...about a wolf."She said softly as she felt a shiver run through her body. "What do you think it means."She asked hoping Dianna would tell her about her own dream. Tori couldnt shake the image of Leo from her mind. She almost felt as if he were watching her. She turned and looked out the window, shadows and tree limbs were all she saw.

Don't piss off a slayer

Hardly paying attention, Dianna growled as she flung the covers off of her bed. "How dare he? How dare he? Even in my fucking dreams he tries to help me." She turned around and pointed at Tori, "And I did not ask for his help and you know what? You know what? I killed the damn werewolf this time. I killed him, he did not kill me."

Dianna took a deep breath but didn't give Tori a chance to speak before beginning her rant again, "It had nothing to do with his stupid ass cane and it definitely had NOTHING to do with him." Dianna growled angrily. "It was my dream rifle that was shot and thats why the werewolf died."

Dianna started pacing back and forth, "And how dare that asshole kiss me!" She grabbed Tori by the shoulders, "The stupid vampire kissed me, like this was some sort of episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and he was angel or this was Angel and I was Charisma. Do I seriously look that hard up? STUPID. FUCKING. VAMPIRE."

Leo

He watched her still, taking in her features. He looked around the room. There was a small desk at the foot of the slayer's bed. On it was her stake and a small pistol which he was willing to bet had silver bullets in it. There was a paper on the table that had some writing on it. The name on the top said 'Victoria Alexander.' Leo glanced back over at the empath. Victoria...yes, that's her, he though to himself. The slayer twitched in her sleep, so he turned his gaze on her. She had an odd look on her face, which morphed to desire for roughly half a second, just before she woke up with a jump.

Deciding that he had lingered long enough, Leo gets off the window sill and turns to leave. That was about the time that he heard Victoria get out of bed. Moving away slowly, he can still hear their conversation. Victoria murmurs something about a wolf. Curious, Leo moves back to the window. After a minute of listening to the slayer vent about her dream, which was very interesting, he hops up on his hind legs again and looks through the window, and almost instantly regretted the decision. Victoria was looking right at him. Her eyes looked into his. Uh oh, he thinks to himself. He quickly gets down and turns to leave again, though moving slowly, giving himself a chance to collect himself and thinking that they won't pursue him.

Tori felt her neck rattle as Dianna shook her,she bit her tongue and swore under her breath. "Dianna..damnit..calm down!" Tori raised her voice to her friend hoping to get through to her as she ranted and raved. Tori pulled herself free from Dianna's grip and rubbed her upper arms.

Tori watched her friend pace back and forth, waiting for her to calm down. Her own worries fading for now about Leo. She tried to think of something to say or do to bring Dianna out of her ranting. Grinning she dropped down on Dianna's bed and looked at her friend. "Ok..so you killed the wolf..used a gun and not the cane...but...how was the kiss?"She said giggling softly at the reaction she got. "Was it hot?"

The yell coming from Tori did relax her. Dianna took a deep breath, then another, and another, and one last one. Dianna raised her eyebrow at Tori, "TORI!" Dianna squealed, blushing and looking away. "How can you ask such a thing?" She played with her golden brown hair, her caramel skin glistened in the moonlight before sat down on the bed.

Finally admitting, "It was...sort of hot." her cheeks turned a bright red, "Lets put it this way, I'm not letting that sorta thing happen in real life okay. He kisses me in real life, I'm staking his ass for real."

Shaking the thoughts of the stupid vampire out of her mind, she turned her attention to Tori, "You had a dream about a werewolf? Did it try to attack you or something? I have no clue what it means. What happened in the dream? Maybe we can figure out what it means by what happened in the dream. My mom used to say that dreams are a window to the soul.." Dianna choked back a small sob, before waving Tori to start on what her dream was about.

Tori grinned at her friend blushing then turned serious once more at her question about her dream. Tori frowned a bit then looked out of the window once more as if looking for something. "I dont really know..It was weird."She began as she lay back on the bed and reached up to rub her silver necklace Dianna had given her.

"I had images..shadowy ones of the wolf that went by us earlier. He seemed to be scenting us,but yet he went on."She said as she closed her eyes trying to draw up the images of Leo into more thn shadowy ones. She couldn't. "It felt as if I knew him,was calling out to him." She felt the skin on her cheeks flame red as she opened her eyes and looked at Dianna.

"Then things changed and I saw another female wolf. She was angry...very angry. Then I woke up as you did."She said propping her hands behind her head. "I still feel as if we are being watched...sometimes I feel like someone is trying to get into my head.

"Wow, that is an extremely weird dream. Okay, so we need to make some ground rules. You need to make sure that the vampire and I don't get close. I don't know why but I just get this feeling that he isn't to be trusted. Ya know, I hate that show Buffy the vampire slayer because its total bull shit however, there is some truth to it. For instance..." Dianna paused and started pacing before taking a deep breath and speaking again.

"Angel even though he was a good vampire, he was really evil and wanted to destroy human kind. Well....if a producer has the knowledge to do that then it has to be true I mean, life isn't like Twilight...right?" It was then that Dianna realized how incredibly stupid she sounded. She was comparing a real life vampire to fictional vampires; one from television and one from a teen romance novel.

"Just make sure I'm never alone with him, okay? It's just a gut feeling I have. And whatever is watching you, I'll make sure to stake it's ass or shoot it or whatever? We got a deal?"
