The Tea Party Is Falling Fast in Its Battle with the GOP Establishment

Correct me if I'm wrong here Zoomie. Isn't midnight Eastern time still some two hours and fifteen minutes in the future?

Hmmm. You're right. Jumped at the bit, it seems.

I'll blame it on the rain. Which in my area, is literally a thing now! :D

It's okay. At least you tried. I nearly fucked up in the first like ten seconds because I'm in California, that shit hit for me at NINE on A FRIDAY! I wonder if the third in our game made it through the week.

There were four of us in it, right? I noticed everyone pretty much stuck to their guns, at least for the times I was online. Except for a few posts that made my eyes roll back in the head because of their sheer stupidity, it wasn't a big dealie to abstain.

Might do this on a regular basis. Sort of like a juice cleanse! :D

Either three or four but I didn't mark the thread so I've got no idea which of the 150 I'm subscribed to it is other than it must be on the first page and a half because everything farther back hasn't been posted in for more than a week.

I know it was at least four or five fingers out of a hand. I did notice homeboy wondering often where the "libs" were in non-response to many of his posts that made him look like he was stuck out in the middle of a cornfield all alone, yelling at the clouds.

Dunno if that was because of our game or just people not paying his also-ran see-n-pee ranting any attention in general, though...:D

Agreed. Only Ulaven was responding to him. Otherwise, he seemed quite lost and bewildered. I think we should do this again for another week and let Ulaven join in.

omg there must be a sale on the obama ass juice as you asshats are sure at it early today

How did Thad Cochran do last night?

:D :D :D

His opponent won in a landslide by Tea Party standards: 49.4% to 49%.

McDaniel probably won it by having his staff go after Cochran's hospitalized wife in the last week....the Tea Party and their Libertarian auxilliary simply love a guy who is willing to attack someone's wife.

Make 'em squeal!

;) ;)

Good news. The Gay Republican in California won despite the open hostility of his fellow gays and lesbians...

Especially surprising since McDaniel hangs around with neo-Confederate elements, and thus, according to all the wingnuts here, should rightfully be in the Democratic Party, since the Dems are the ones who are all racist and shit because Jefferson Davis.

Getting 49 percent of the vote despite being in the "wrong" party is truly noteworthy! The guy must be a prodigy.

No one is going to overtake the 2 established parties. It would be better for the country if we had more than a 2 party system but there is too much money and power for the home team.

True.

It's not the money, it's the system itself. It demands a two party system. Nothing else can function in our existing system.

See Duverger's law.

In political science, Duverger's law is a principle that asserts that plurality rule elections structured within single-member districts tend to favor a two-party system. This is one of two hypotheses proposed by Duverger, the second stating that "the double ballot majority system and proportional representation tend to multipartism."[1]

The discovery of this tendency is attributed to Maurice Duverger, a French sociologist who observed the effect and recorded it in several papers published in the 1950s and 1960s. In the course of further research, other political scientists began calling the effect a "law" or principle. Duverger's law suggests a nexus or synthesis between a party system and an electoral system: a proportional representation (PR) system creates the electoral conditions necessary to foster party development while a plurality system marginalizes many smaller political parties, resulting in what is known as a two-party system.

I hadn't been following the Mississippi race very closely, but after reading bios of the two candidates, I honestly feel sorry for the people of that state.

Cochran is a befuddled old man whose main claim to fame is that he brings in $3 of pork to the state for every $1 it collects.

McDaniel is a classic "let grandma eat catfood" revolutionary.

And these are the two best candidates they could field?

Only because Democrats don't have the balls to say that 50<60, fuck you let the country burn. I mean you are right here but because your side has men and suicide bombers and mine wusses and compromisers.
^^^ The first on-target statement I've seen from you in weeks.
