Bored out of my shoes, I've been burning the midnight oil those last days watching the US Open tennis, airing from late evening to early morning CET. And it struck me immedialtely how incredibly fucking hot all the players are. Even what would be considered the plainer looking ladies and gentlemen are sexy as hell.
I came to the conclusion that this is because the ideal tennis physique is well balanced. A long distance runner is extremely thin. A boxer is extremely muscular. A high jumper extremely...oblong. The athletes on my tv right now are none of that. They just look like very healthy human beings.
Also, they dress nifty. Not too revealing like volleyball players or sprinters in jumpsuits, but rather like what you could wear to a relaxed late summer barbecue in your buddy's back yard. Shorts and a shirt for the gents, skirt and top, or a nice hugging (but not skimpy) summer dress for the ladies. (Have no idea why more women don't wear shorts. It can't be a dress code thing since some women do.)
Third, it's a tidy sport, where the combatants only gets a fashionable and intriguing sheen of sweat if they play too many tie-beaks. Have you even sen how long distance skiiers look when they collapse after passing the finish line? *shudder* Even tennis injuries are tidy. A pulled muscle here and a strained wrist there. No blood, bruses or breaking bones.
Yeah. Tennis is visual goodness.
Q: What's your favourite sport to watch, for the sake of oogling the athletes? And why? If you say chess or sumo wrestling, I'm dying for a motivation.
