The Ronald Reagan America Does Not Want To See

Why so much bias against 'newbies'?

Seems a bit elitist to me.

Oh, thanks for the compliment on my post, but all I said was what I felt.
Yea. I guess that would be a good question. Actually, My very first post was met with anger and mean rotten people. All I did Was say Hi. I'm MisterEdMe. I was screamed at for misreading the thread and it turned out the Lister was on the wrong board. Hehe. It took him 3 days to realize it. Can't really help you there, it does get better though. There are much worse jerks than me.

Yeah, in a half assed sort of way, you did.
Well, I feel the way I feel. I just worded it different than what you are accustomed to . So I'd really just rather drop it. Newbie.

Because they don't take the time to check the water before diving right in. There are different boards and different kinds of threads; not to mention all the different personalities. There are distinct differences and similarities around here. we have some general battllines and alliances but there is more than left and right, we have racists, crybabies, snotty assed bitches and foul mouthed bastards. On the gb there are some of us who like to seriously squall and others who talk out there ass just to be annoying. Well, I hear people are like that, I never saw any :) So, I think the intolerence for 'newbies' is because they just start posting all full of attitude without taking some time to find out who they are dealing with. I did it, I think most do, until they learn to shut up a little and watch for a while. :) I don't think there is much bias in the 'fuck' thread or the either/ or thread.

OK, but that is not true for all of us, so it is still a bias/predudice, correct? I try not to dive in, probably have, but try to 'check the water'. And everyone started at 1 post, right?

Yup, and everybody felt it at one time or another I guess. Think of it like pledge week

IOW, the people who fuck with n00bs do so because they're sadistic, vindictive, juvenile assholes.

Like frat boys.

Sorry, I know these questions aren't directed ate me. But hellbaby was correct. Some newbies just start posting w/attitude right away. Some folks on here are highly intelligent; yet still choose to argue like kids and fail to give others a chance. And not all newbies are the same. You already had a calming effect on me just w/your sense of fair judgement and 'sensing' I would listen to you once I seen the big picture on this thread. Good call. I think you will do well on here.

But hey, stick around. I like folks like you. There really are some good people here at Lit. And it can be quite hilarious at time. Even addictive. Have fun!! :)

Accomplishments During the1981-1989 Reagan Administration

1. President Reagan's economic policies stimulated the economy, creating 17 million new jobs. One-fourth of the new jobs were created in 68 consecutive months. Black unemployment was cut in half.

2. We were given incentives to save our money, to work, and to invest because of Reagan's tax reforms.

3. The inflation rate decreased to less than 4.4%. Family income rose 12%.

4. We experienced the longest and strongest peacetime prosperity in the history of the nation.

5. We experienced the best peacetime relationship with the Soviet Union in our history. We saw the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan( without boycotting the Olympics).

6. Regan drew the line in Grenada, Libya, Afghanistan, and the Persian Gulf, and no countries have fallen to communism during the Reagan era.

7. The U.S. military was refurbished and strengthened.

8. We have seen a return to traditional values. Under Reagan, we have seen a cut in federal funding of abortions; emphasis on a strong family unit; and the development of family-oriented public policy.

9. Educational leaders are now working to sustain moral values and reestablish a clear understanding of right and wrong. The need for values in the curriculum has been trumpeted by the Reagan administration.

10. People from other nations are flocking to America to follow our example. Our principles of civil and economic freedom are now being copied all over the world.

America Just Prior to the Reagan Administration

1. Seven million Americans were unemployed.

2. We were told to live on less, to buckle our belts and to prepare for scarcity.

3. Americans went through two of the worst years of inflation in 60 years. There was a 13% inflation rate. Family income dropped and we had the highest tax bill in our history.

4. We were on the verge of a major recession.

5. With our cold wars during the '70s, we inspired our enemies not to be afraid of us. The Soviets refused to come to the bargaining table. Cultural exchanges between the U.S. and the U.S.S.R. came to a halt.

6. Disarmament was considered a noble goal. We did not know where to draw the line in our negotiations with the Soviets. Three countries fell to communism under the Carter administration: Benin (1977), Nicaragua (1979), and Zimbabwe (1980).

7. Guns and tanks that did not even work were being sent to battle.

8. Young Americans were not allowed to pray in school ... even though Congress, every state house, and the Supreme Court begins business with prayer.

9. Progressive values became fashionable. Social policies emulated the values of a small, vocal minority.

10. Education did not sustain moral values. Educational curricula began to promote "alternative lifesyles," such as homosexuality.

11. America wore a "kick me" sign on its back. We lost our edge in technology and in global markets due to exces sive government regulation, and high taxes which devoured capital.

Thank you so much , Angel. I'm so happy I am not the only one here defending Reagan. But I just get a little too emotional over this dude and cannot seem to argue logically. Some people on here are obviously still hurt over things that happened YEARS AGO. and can't get over it. I have some of the same resentments agains Busch, but I'm over it already. ( And I have every reason as a veteran to dislike Busch)

Weeeelllllll it's the hoof thing. But you'll note that I went back to correct it. BTW, you aren't one of the Spelling Police are you?

So, Mister Ed, why is it wrong for me to still be upset over things Reagan did so long ago, but it's fine for you to still be kissing his ass?

You mentioned that you admired Reagan's integrity. Let's look at that, shall we?

He belonged to a union when it was to his personal benefit, then spent the rest of his political career busting unions.

Life-long Democrat, until a group of Republican businessmen offered to fund his run for Governor. Then he switched parties.

He talked constantly about family values, after he divorced his first wife and later married a starlet know for "giving the best head in Hollywood." During that first marriage, he dumped his kids into boarding schools. He ignored the children of his first marriage to the point that his daughter Patti didn't even know she had a sister until she was seven.

He vowed he would "never yield to terrorist blackmail", then sold arms to terrorists who held Americans hostage.

In November 1986, he publicly denied that his administration had been illegally selling arms to Iran and using the proceeds to fund the contras. One week later he was forced to retract this statement, but denied that the sale was part of a deal to free U.S. hostages. The following year, Reagan admitted that there had been an arms-for-hostages deal, but denied he knew anything about it.

Claimed he had been in Germany filming the liberation of death camps, when in truth he never left Hollywood.

Hypocrite. Liar. Backstabber. Is that what you call integrity, Mister Ed?

Bin Laden only "got away with it" because he went into hiding.

Let Bin Laden show his face anywhere near an American soldier, or cop, or fireman, or ordinary citizen...

And here's me thinking he got away with it because team USofA had better things to do. Like killing children in Iraq.
