The Ranch... Open..

George & Sam

"Mmm, smells good George, your a fantastic cook I see. Is there anything you can't do perfectly?"

George laughs at this remark.

“I don’t do anything perfectly, I just do it as well as I can. If you think its perfect that’s OK with me, but a true cook would have done a much better job,” he told her laughing.

George was happy and having got their feelings for each other out of the way the previous evening he knew they’d enjoy the rest of their trip. As he’d taken the stew off the fire, he’d put the final skinned rabbit into the hot coals so that it would cook while they ate, that way they’d have fresh food for their lunch. Maybe that night they’d raid Carolyn’s supplies for their evening meal along with what was left of the stew.

“How far have we got to travel today,” he asked, knowing that they’d need to move a bit faster if they were going to return to the ranch house within the three days they’d allowed

Josh and Kat in the park

Sliding her hand through his arm. They continued watching the kids for a few moments while she awncered him No i havent met my Mr right as of yet ether... Josh smiles as he feels Kat's hand slide through his arm and at her answer . As they walk Kat points out to Josh her fav places when she was young and also places that her and Sam had gotten into mischief as children. Josh notices how Kat lights up as she points out these places and feels special that she would share them with him. As they walk they come to a park bench near a pond as they sit to rest Josh sees Kat light up as she looks past him looking back he sees the poster for a dance she sees. Looking at Josh she asked. Do you think the Ranch hands would like a few days off at the end of the week to beable to go to the Barn dance. They could meet the towns folk that way and relax alittle? "Yes they have been working hard and deserve a break and so does a certain ranch owner" Josh winks and smiles at her. then getting serious he asks Kat would you do me the honor of attending the dance with me?"

Kat smiled and blushed slightly as she awncered Josh with a grin she said Yes i would love to go with you.. that is if your sure you dont mind putting up with little ole me.

Leaning back against the bench Kathern looked around enjoying the scenery. Watching the ducks glide across the pond. Glancing down at her watch she new she was going to have to appologize to Carolyn for them being late to dinner, and that they really needed to meet up with the girls at the Gazebo so they could head back, but for once Kat was in no hurry to go anywhere and was enjoying spending time with Josh.

Lightly swinging her feet Kat grinned a michevious light in her eyes as she looked over at Josh. Hey Josh?? Are you ticklish? she asked as she reached over to tickle his sides.

Yes i would love to go with you.. that is if your sure you dont mind putting up with little ole me.

Josh returns her smile as he laughs "darlin it will be my pleasure to put up with lil ole you" Josh smiles at Kat as he answers and looks around following her eyes he sees her looking at her watch hoping their time alone isnt over then he sees a wicked gleam and smile cross her face as he hears her ask Hey Josh?? Are you ticklish as she reaches over to tickle his sides. "Whoa he laughs as she tickles him. Josh starts to tickle her as he recovers from her suprise attack. As he tickles her she runs and he gives chase. They laugh and tickle each other like a couple of kids. Just as he catches her they stumble to the ground laughing they roll on the ground having a good time. As Josh tickles Kat she hollars " I give" . They laugh as they collapse in fits of laughter ending up in each others arms Josh smiles happily as he lays with Kat in his arms.

As I smile back at Meg I say thats ok,I would just like someone to talk to thats all just trying to get to know everyone and what they like to do.As we walk down the sidewalk I look over at Meg and say thanks for coming with me.Aswe walk I start asking her what she likes to do in her free time

Sam & George

“We will make it in three days, if we don’t find to much work to be done. But if we do then we might be longer, you did remember to bring the walkie talkie’s so that we can contact Kat if need be right?”

Upon hearing George’s reply we promptly gathered our belongings and headed out, both ready to get some work done before we would need to stop again for the night.

The morning went by fast, sharing quiet companionable silences at times, then at other times. Talking like we had known each other our whole lives, he was so easy to talk to and I found myself enjoying his stories of his childhood as much as he seemed to enjoy my childhood stories. Each of us had our ups and downs during our childhoods we both agreed to this, but we found that our lives had made us both stronger in one way or the other.

We would stop every so often and check our map, marking the spots that looked like they might need some repairs soon. Always watching for what would be considered major problems. Sometime around mid morning they found one spot that looked like a major problem, there in the fence was a great gaping hole. As one they climbed down out of the saddles heading for the packhorses they had brought, with their supplies. Together they set to work, quietly making light of the problem as they worked side by side. Happy just knowing the other was there. Tearing down the bad fence they set up a new one re-running fencing wire, being careful not to cut up their hands. Both so attuned to the others needs that there really wasn’t much need for talk.

Once they had the portion finished they set out once more, spotting a few more problem areas. Fixing them as they went much like the first one that had done, always knowing what the other was doing and being able to jump in when needed. Before finally calling a halt for lunch, making short work of their meal talking quietly between the two of them.

I couldn’t remember a time when I had felt like I had accomplished so much in such a short amount of time. George just seemed to know what I wanted or how to do the things I wasn’t sure about. He would jump in without comment, never once making me feel like I shouldn’t have been out there helping. This thought was always at the foremost of my mind, Tom wouldn’t have allowed me to help no matter how much or often that I begged. Telling me it was a man’s job, no matter that I had helped on my fathers ranch, or the fact that I would help the ranch hands when Tom wasn’t around. Those were the times, that I remembered the best, to me I always felt like I was doing something productive.

Kat lay in Joshs arms a smile on her face as she tryed to catch her breath. That was fun i havent acted like that in ages.. she said looking up into Josh's eyes enjoying the feel of being in his arms.

Seeing the light post come on Kat new it was late and that they needed to meet up with the others. With a small sigh she looked back at Josh intending on telling him that they needed to head back, but insted found herself slowly leaning forward and slowly kissing his lips.

That was fun i havent acted like that in ages.. Kat says as she looks into Josh's eyes.
Smiling at Her Josh replies "It's been awhile for me too ," as he holds her in his arms. Hearing her sigh as the lampposts light Josh expects her to say it's time to go. but instead he feels her begin to slowly kiss him. Gently embracing her as she leans to kiss him Josh returns her slow kiss letting his lips gently caress hers as his tongue softly traces the outline of her sweet lips.

Feeling Josh's toung trace her lips Kat slid her arm up over his sholder and neck to hold him close and opening her mouth a little more deepend their kiss. Enjoying the feel of his body pressed to her's she didnt hear the patrol car pull up or the officer get out of his car.. She was simply lost in the warm passionet feel of Josh.

Excuse me Miss?? Sir?? I am afraid you are not allowed to do that here in the park you will have to head home. This is your only warning. It took Kat a moment to regester what had been said and by whom. Feeling her face turn red with embarassment Kat and Josh stood up, and Kat did her best to recover her sences Sorry about that officer we'll meet up with our friends and head home thank you..

Watching the officer walk away Kat looked at Josh and smiled her face still red from blushing. umm i am sorry i just couldnt seem to help myself...

Feeling Kat slip her arms around him and pulling him closer and allowing their kiss to deepen their tongues dancing passiontely. Josh was lost in the moment loving the way her body felt pressed against his and didnt hear anything untill 'Excuse me Miss?? Sir?? I am afraid you are not allowed to do that here in the park you will have to head home. This is your only warning
'
Blushing as he helps Kat stand Josh says "Uh sorry officer". As the officer leaves Josh looks at Kat and starts to say "uh" as she says " umm i am sorry i just couldnt seem to help myself" Josh still blushing says "No apologies needed i could'nt help myself either matter of fact i enjoyed kissing you." Josh smiles as he slips his arm around Kat's waist and says " Lets go find the others" as they walk back toward the gazebo to meet the rest of the gang.

George & Sam

George couldn’t believe how relaxed he was talking to Sam, as they rode they told each other parts of their life stories. They laughed freely at each others little jokes and worked hard together when ever they found part of the fencing that needed repairing. George was pleased at the way Sam was ready to work alongside him and knowing when she couldn’t do something that it was easier to let him finish than get in the way.

During their short lunch break they sat close together, George felt on top of the world just to have their bodies touching while they ate. He would have liked more but was satisfied with what they had at the moment, they were more like close friends at the moment rather than potential lovers, but George still wanted Sam to be completely sure of herself and him before he took things any further. He knew that when they stopped for the night he wouldn’t be able to resist stealing a few kisses and hugs but he would be satisfied with that until Sam gave the green light to go further.

“We’ve done well so far Sam, you handle yourself well when repairing fences,” George told her. “I did bring the walkie talkies like you asked, I couldn’t forget anything you said now could I,” George added with a laugh.

Mags chuckles, "ride horses, take care of animals, long walks in the woods, sometimes go to clubs with friends..." Mags pauses before a shop, wrapping her fingers gently around Kasey's arm. In the window are an assortment of riding gear, a saddle, chaps, shirts, pants, boots, and many other items. "how about this place?"

Sam & George

Blushing furiously with George's comment I find myself at a loss for words so instead I take a bite of my food pretending to have a mouth full. Looking around as I chew slowly I take in where we were from my memory. We were close to being half way to where I had thought we could stay the night.

Finishing my bite, "we should be able to make it to the next camp sight sometime around 8 tonight. The light should stay with us until about 9 I figure so it will give us enough time to set up camp and such."

In my mind I calulated the distance we had come and how far we had left to go. We had indeed made good time and by my calulations we would be done riding the range before the three days were up. Unless something happened like we were to find a opening that took us longer to fix.

"You know I enjoyed working with you today, you knew what you were doing and did it. You didn't mind me jumping in at all, Tom would have thrown a fit. Not that I am trying to compare you or anything but I find it to be a nice change. Kat's dad use to take us out to work the fences and showed each of us what needed doing and how. He was a very good man, when my father was out and about with buisness I would come spend the time with Kat helping out here. Guess thats why I felt like this was more my home then anywhere else."

Realizing that both of us were doing eating I quickly clean up our small mess stowing everything away before George had time to move. Smiling at him I extend my hand down to him. "Want a hand there? You seem to be moving a bit slow..." Laughing at the look on George's face.

George & Sam

George smiled at Sam’s confusion as she blushed when he complimented her, hearing her say the should arrive at their next camp by 8 that evening he knew they had a bit of time to spare because they wouldn’t take an hour to set up camp.

He nearly laughed when she told him that Tom wouldn’t have liked her helping out on the ranch, he couldn’t believe that Tom would stop her doing something that she obviously enjoyed. So she’d learnt her skills from Katherin’s father, he wondered what other skills she’d learnt that he was yet to find out about.

George watched and admired the way Sam clean up after their meal and stowed everything away in its correct place.

Smiling at him I extend my hand down to him. "Want a hand there? You seem to be moving a bit slow..."

George took Sam’s offered hand, but instead of letting her pull him up he pulled her down onto himself. Quickly his lips found hers and he kissed her passionately, suddenly he found himself in a quandary. He could feel himself getting an erection, he didn’t want to break the kiss because Sam would wonder why he’d done so, but if the kiss continued he was sure she’d notice his hardness.

He would have happily taken Sam there but he’d made a promise to himself, Katherin and indirectly to Sam that she had to be completely certain before anything like that occurred.

Because of these conflicting emotions he just continued the kiss waiting for Sam to break it, he’d then have to just suffer any embarrassment caused by her making a comment about his hardness.

Hot steamy kisses were my answer to teasing him of being old, but in his arms I could not call him old. But young and spirited seemed to fit better for him at this stage, of course I did not mind in the least. For each of his hot kisses I would give him a soul searching kiss of my own.

At some point of time my arms found their own way up his body and around his neck. Continuing to pull his lips down to mine, pressing tighter into him. He smelled of smoke from the fire, sweat of hard work & the wild. Fully all male and it just so happened that I loved every bit of it.

Squirming about to get myself more comfortable in his lap, the afternoon seemed to grow a bit warmer then usual. Or was it me? I couldn't tell, I did know that, I was growing hotter with each of George's kisses. And I wanted more, but was I ready yet? Moving a bit more so that I could strattle George's waist, kissing him deeper as my fingers play softly at the base of his neck with the little hairs.

It was then that I felt I was not the only one who was finding the afternoon rather warm. There nestled against me was George's proof of that, I wanted so badly to touch him. But wasn't sure what to do with this, if I did would it be concidered throwing myself at him? Would he be upset with me, for wanting to take on more? I didn't think so with the way he was responding to me. But I wasn't sure enough yet, and George had said something about me being sure.

Pulling back from him a little I smile placing one gentle hand against his cheek, looking deeply within his eyes. There I could see myself the way he seen me, beautiful. But not just for my looks, but for who I was, desirable but not because he wanted me in the sack but because there was more for him. A commitment, an understanding that it would last, a promise that things would be hard at times but that together we could pull through anything. I could only hope that my choice was a good one, looking upon this man that I had come to care for so greatly. I knew that we would make long lasting love together soon.

I was excited and scared, I wanted everything to be alright but I didn't want George to get the wrong idea. I wanted what I seen in his eyes, but I wanted him to know all that I thought about him as well. How sweet and loving I thought him, how gentle I thought he was that I wanted to feel his caresses. Actually craved his touch, craved all of him period. Leaning down to kiss him once more murmuring softly against his lips. "Oh my dear heart, such promises I see within your eyes."

George & sam

George knew he had to put a stop to what they were doing before it got really out of hand, he wanted her so badly it wouldn’t take much more to push him over the top.

He gently pushed Sam away and got up pulling her up with him.

“I’m sorry Sam, but this has got to stop. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love us both to strip here and now and enjoy each others bodies. But that wouldn’t be fair on you, only recently you lost your husband and I don’t want you to do something you might regret in a few weeks time. Yes I want you and from your actions I’d guess that you’d take me willingly, that’s my guess even if you say I’m wrong,” George explained his actions to Sam.

George brushed himself down and collected the horses ready for them to move on as soon as Sam had got control of herself after their close encounter. He walked over to her and gave her a quick kiss on the lips.

“Come on gorgeous it’s time we were off on our ride again, or we wont make your camp site before nightfall,” George said waiting for Sam to mount before mounting himself.

They set off at a steady pace so as not to tire the horses, and soon started small talk between themselves.

Sam & George

Being slightly disappointed that we had stopped but more thankful that we had I mount quickly. Not knowing what to say to George feeling the embarressment in almost overwelming way. How far would I have allowed us to go if George had not been the adult and stopped what could have been another mistake for me. But in my heart I had the feeling that George wasn't a mistake and I found that because he had stopped us, I was more inclinded to care for him just that much more. He was thinking of me, and that was something that touched my heart like nothing else could.

Moving to follow George, I wait trying to think of something to say. Then again George seemed to know what was needed and begins to make small talk about the ranch and the work on the fences. Things that he must have known would draw me out to him once more. For I found myself relaxing once more, my body still pulsed with a need that I couldn't fix yet. It didn't matter I knew George was in the same predicament that I was in, needing and yet not having.

Giving George a smile, I begin joining in on his small talk, explaining where the next camp site could be and why. "The site I am thinking of isn't anything major, but it has a smaller glade with trees around it. Just off the path of the fence, so it will offer some wind break and protection. Though I don't see there actually being a problem with the weather tonight." Looking up at the bright clear blue sky above us as I say this. Thinking how much I had missed sights like this in the city, Tom had always said the lights from the city made him happy. The wide open sky had always made me happy.

As I turn my head to see what Meg wanted I seen all the riding gear in the window and could not wait to go in and start picking up outfits to try on

Walking with Josh back to the gazebo Kat couldnt help but wonder what he was thinking. Kat wasnt one to normaly act that way but something about Josh caused her to look at more than just taking care of the ranch.. Looking over at him when she noticed that the girls hadnt made it back from shopping yet Kat said Should we see if we can find them or would you rather wait here?

As I and Meg walked into the Store For Riders, I fell in love with all the outfits I seen. There were walls upon walls on jeans shrits and dresses out including boots. As I walk through the store I think you myself I could be here all day and would spend every last penny I had. Turning to Meg I told her I was going to pick out some jeans and shrit to try on while we waited for Kat and Josh to show up.

As Josh and Kat walk back toward the gazebo he smiles to himself wondering to himself what he had done right to deserve a chance with the beautiful woman on his arm.

Arriveing at the gazebo and not finding the girls Kat asks, "Should we see if we can find them or would you rather wait here?"

"We can look for them if you want then that way you could help me find something nice to wear to the dance friday night when i escort the prettiest gal in the county" Josh replies as he smiles at her waiting for her answer.

Kat smiled and laughed.. Alright lets go find them then. Though i am sure you are in need of some glass's there are plenty of girls far more lovely than i am. Taking Josh's arm again they walked down the street in the direction the girls had first left in. Checking one store and then another. Seeing one store that sold western wear.

Grinning Kat said.. Lets check in here even if we dont find the girls we can get you your cloths. Looking at her watch again Kat new the stores would be closing up shop soon and that they didnt have much time but she was going to enjoy every moment of it.

Looking down at her he says "Not in my opinion darlin".

Stopping in front of a western store Kat says, Lets check in here even if we dont find the girls we can get you your clothes

"Lead the way darlin" Josh smiles and says as he holds the store door open and follows Kat inside admiring her backside as he follows her.

George was looking forward to stopping at the next camp site but knew that they both had to be careful what they did. He didn’t know how he’d managed to control himself that lunch time and another session like that might result in something they’d both regret in the future.

It wasn’t that he didn’t want to carry on it was more that Sam had made one mistake when she was younger and he wanted her to be certain before they went any further. He liked the wide open spaces more than the life on the ranch, that’s why he wanted to inspect the fences, from the look on Sam’s face as she looked around he was sure she liked the open air as much as he did.

“That sounds a great place to spend the night, looking up at the stars with nobody around for some distance. The quiet and the company will do me good,” he told her with a smile on his face.

They didn’t find any more fences broken that day so they made good time and arrived with plenty of daylight to set up camp. George dug into the bags from the pack horses and made them a hearty meal from the rations Carolyn had supplied.

“I love the open spaces,” George told Sam as they sat close together after they’d eaten. “I could stay out here for ever,” he added as he looked up at the stars that had appeared with nightfall.

Sam & George

Snuggling up against George enjoying the feel of his warm body close to mine. Glancing up at the stars, I smile as I watch the smaller night birds wing their ways back and forth across the night sky. The stars here seemed brighter then I could ever remember them being and I couldn't think of a night that I hadn't missed them in the city.

"I love watching the sky out here at night, in the city there really weren't any stars and the ones that you could see were so faded with the lights that they weren't actually worth looking at. Kat and I use to love coming out here when they would forcast the metershowers, we would watch them for hours. Always talking about life on other plants, and what 'IF's' that was so long ago though that I had forgotten what it was like just to see it all."

The nights I had spent out on the porch in the city hadn't compared to this, Tom never would sit outside unless it was with all the back yard lights on and a party going on around us. Things were much simpler here in the open space of home, no one to impress, time wasn't a matter for us. Though I knew Kat would be waiting for us, I found myself wishing that this ride would take longer then it was going to.

But there would be other times, and who knew maybe if Kat would agree to it some time in the future I could talk her into letting me build a smaller house. Just a small cabin out here in the middle of no where for a weekend get away. Then I could bring George out here and we could take a week just for us. If we were to get serious enough to want to do something like that.

"George, what do you want from the future? I mean like in ten years where or what would you like to be doing?" Moving so that I can stay snuggled against George and yet look at him I wait quietly.
