"Mmm, smells good George, your a fantastic cook I see. Is there anything you can't do perfectly?"
George laughs at this remark.
“I don’t do anything perfectly, I just do it as well as I can. If you think its perfect that’s OK with me, but a true cook would have done a much better job,” he told her laughing.
George was happy and having got their feelings for each other out of the way the previous evening he knew they’d enjoy the rest of their trip. As he’d taken the stew off the fire, he’d put the final skinned rabbit into the hot coals so that it would cook while they ate, that way they’d have fresh food for their lunch. Maybe that night they’d raid Carolyn’s supplies for their evening meal along with what was left of the stew.
“How far have we got to travel today,” he asked, knowing that they’d need to move a bit faster if they were going to return to the ranch house within the three days they’d allowed
