I remember climbing (OK walking) on the Matanuska Glacier. At the time, you could still chop chunks for your cooler. Have they stopped that?

It's quite a hike from your car to the glacier, now. And, you have to pay to access the glacier (private land and free market economy). If you're walking on the ice in summer without ice grips on your shoes, it's like climbing, and pretty stressful if your concerned about falling.

A fucking damn near ten-minute long uninterrupted strafe of a fuse-line of firecrackers that just make noise, no pyrotechnics other than crackling like a sparkler. I just paused my Netflix — impossible to volume over it — and went to refill my drank.

I mean, I get it, but...maaaaaaaan it was loud. This shit was set off in front of the building directly adjacent to the right of me, so there was no way I was NOT hearing it!
