Our first meal out since C-day. I actually really enjoyed it. Fewer diners, each table turned into a booth, much more space.

Not working out here. Opened up 10 days ago and huge outbreaks, which were traced back to restaurants.

They had sanitiser stations for your hands, and all the tables and chairs were wiped down with disinfectant between customers, took contact details in case of an outbreak. Still, no masks, and most of the customers looked too old to be risking it. I'm expecting a second wave.

The water heater died Saturday evening. Cold showers last night were interesting, and perhaps something that should be experienced more often in the summer months. The plumber is on the way this AM.

I'm concerned because our numbers are at an all-time high and I work with kids of predominantly essential workers. And also because I'm not handling change and transition well lately.

cold showers are good for you, but man can they be intense. if i don't strictly control my breathing when it's on my chest i tend to lock up. still, it's oddly nice at times. especially when it's fucking hot.

electric, and perhaps more likely to be the element (or one of them, don't know about this tank)... the water started coming out burning hot and then, next day, just cold. from what i've read it sounds like a sediment build-up on the element leading to a burn-out. plus it was installed 16 years ago so it was living on borrowed time.
