The Great Dinner Throwdown

There's onion, pork riblets, ginger, brown sugar, wine vinegar, GF soy sauce, star anise, garlic, and canned pineapple in the crock pot (and it's been there for a while). It's smelling pretty good and will be tasty on some rice in a couple hours.

Who ordered a salad?
we don't do it as a 'side' for this meal; everything piles on top and it's delicious... bites of the crisp, warm doritos, the warm spiced heat of the meat, the blossoms of softened, warm cheesiness, topped with the bright notes of crisp, cold veggies

That is some eyes rolling into the back of my head yum right there.

We have a decent amount of options around here. My absolute favorite one closed almost a year ago. We actually had reservations right when it happened.

You try too hard, Bert. Burgers don't go in the InstaPot.

You fuckers eat weird food.

Meat, bread, and eggs are weird to Avalanche fans

Nice! Jasmine rice?

“Great” throwdown!

I'm sure your Lean Cuisine frozen meals are as jealous as you, lil lace.

We have 1 really good restaurant in my city. We've had more, but the market in Iowa is a little peckish. For God sake, in our top 10 restaurants on yelp, 5 of them are chains and 2 are McDonald's and Wendy's.
Sad :(

Nope, basmati. I find that I prefer basmati in most applications. I have 20lb sacks of quality jasmine and basmati in my basement pantry.

Iowa.......

Must be some decent prices on pork, eh?

Needed something quick and easy so I cut four thin steaks off the rib eye in the fridge and made sarnies.

Pork loin is so cheap in the UK right now that butchers are using it to make sausages.

Out here in the hinterlands, getting the parts for proper pork bbq can be overly spendy.

Tonight was a spicy, curry, peanut chicken.
