For anyone who has been living under a rock, Grand_High_Poobah is scouries in a rubber blow up secretary doll suit. Anyone got a pin? If ya do, go ahead and pop his balloon and watch him fly around the room backwards yet again. :D

But make sure the room is clear. We don't want anything broken. :)

I went to my submission page to check out how my new story was doing this morning. I always wait 48 hours before I check the numbers.

So, FYI, here are the figures after 48 hours for my latest story and official A.I.R. Earth Day Contest entry (as well as LITEROTICA contest entry). Very good figures but not spectacular is how I’d sum them up. Good vote and comment totals, a good rating but less than spectacular sales. This bloody economy is even hurting LITEROTICA’S sales. The Canadian and Indian markets are the only two that seem to be holding their own.

The best news came on the “recent activity” front. Exactly 100 times a LITEROTICA reader generated a SCOURIES “recent activity” notice since the story was released on Friday morning. Which seems pretty damn good. The best news is that 47 LITEROTICA readers took the time to designate me as one of their FAVORITE AUTHORS.

I’d like to thank every single one of you. Besides the ROYALTY checks nothing matters more to me than knowing that I’ve given a good read to a member of the vast LITEROTICA audience. You guys are great!

Jim

NO ONE on Lit gets ROYALTIES of any kind. It's a fucking FREE site.

But according to scouries, he gets Royalties from Lit. Typical of scouries lies and bullshit.

Why had "editing" turned into "make the story three pages longer"? [bangs head against wall]

Mine's back from editing, formatted for submission, and tested in preview to make sure the tagline fits, scene separators display properly, and the paragraphing is correct.

Slips over into a sixth page with the ending note, but oh well. I experimented a bit, and it's going to be more effort than it's worth to play around with the paragraphs and end note to eliminate that final page that's only a few lines long.

No way in hell I'm submitting it on a Sunday, though -- even Sunday night *laugh*

They are on the Web site's "favoritist authors" list, which, for some unknown reason, is hidden as a "coming soon" feature--and has been for at least half a decade. Go to the home page, find, "Sneak Peek," and click on that. You'll get a listing of "favoritist" authors and stories. In the upper right, there's a click on for "old list," or something like that. It will give you the top 250 authors in terms of being favorited by readers as "favorite author."

Thanks!

I couldn't find it on the main page, but I used a Yahoo serached and typed in "Literotica's 250 favorite author's instead".

Sunday is....bad?

(Congrats on finishing!)

Anything I've ever had come out on Saturday at midnight or Sunday at midnight has suffered horribly in readership. The story side seems to mirror the forum, which is a graveyard on the weekend.

It's that time again ;)

One new story brings us up to 59.

Ok, I submitted! As usual, it's full of italics etc so had to be uploaded...hope it gets posted in time (though I can't win anyway, lol).

Am a bit nervous about my first foray into the incest category though; I've been thinking of writing something in the area for a long time and I definitely enjoyed it. Am I doomed to lots of hate mail?

Cider Webs is the story of eighteen year-old Danni, who gets banished to her estranged Uncle's eco cabin on the coast for badmouthing her mother. She gets a lot more than a lecture about solar panels and her attitude...

I doubt it. I've never gotten any hate mail from an incest story. The category is popular, and any you might pick up will probably get buried under positive feedback, anyway.

There are several who swear that copy-pasting stories with italics directly out of Word works fine, though I've never tested it. I always go through and manually insert the html so I can preview.

I'll probably put mine in later this afternoon.

Trust me, you're going to get the opposite of hate mail. Incest is the most popular category here.

I've never uploaded a story. I just insert the HTML myself that way I know how it is going to look.

FIREBRAIN: Sheesh, you've been a busy girl. Haven't you? I just read Well Played. Is your new one even fiiiilthier than that one? *laughs*

My entry isn't filthy, unless we're talking about dirt, wandering vines, and the earthy nature of orgasms. *chuckles* :catroar:

I only decided to enter a few days ago -- had the perfect scenario pop into my head and my new novel doesn't have much sex, so it's a nice break!

Yes, this one is dirtier, lol. I'm sure yours is in your own way :) Ahem!

I always copy and past my story. Works great for me. for Italics I use < >.
My story is probably the dirtiest in a sense. It titled "Honey Dippers"> LOL

Mine's got plenty of filth, but it starts on about page four. Those two went a little crazy once I got them alone and comfortable with each other, and it goes on for somewhere around 4k words *laugh*

*giggles* Nice! Well...mhm. There is even a bit of intrigue and suspense in this one. I'll probably post it tonight or tomorrow. Still have a bit more editing to do on it.

DG I haven't read yours yet, but read your italics about what exactly a Honey Dipper is. *LMAO* I've only read one story so far. I gotta get moving, but have been wrapped up in my own.

And, mine's in. Found a couple more flubs during the final read in preview and took care of them.

Crossing my fingers that it goes up at midnight, so I don't lose any time on the New list.

I'm going to post tonight, as well. I can always go back in and tweak the little things once I get the last edit back. I don't want to miss the deadline!

I've found that Monday has become a pretty good day for reads.
