The Earth Day 2011 Contest Support Thread

Actually it's a pretty simple story of a chap whose wife whacks him over the head then shags him silly tied to a tree in the name of a forest god.

Sounds like an interesting read. Drop off a link when it's posted.

With only 5 days left to submit, here's the nightly track.

4 New stories ( including two new categories ) bring us up to 54.

Average score is 4.05 and the median is 4.10

7612 votes have been cast, for an average of 152 and a median of 66

Contest stories have been viewed 635,237 times for an average of 12,703 and a median of 6,137

102 Favorites and 363 comments accumulated.

I've also recorded 21 swept votes so far. Swept votes are determined by the new vote total being lower than the one I recorded the night before. It certainly doesn't catch all of them, especially if any new stories get swept. Those pick up new votes as fast as the Hoover hits them, so the swept ones get lost in the data stream.

***** COMING SOON *****

Well I finished my A.I.R. Earth Day contest story just in time last night (oh it’s also an entry in the LITEROTICA one too). I got it in just seconds before midnight. I just hope they don’t reject this one.

But what a story! The bloody thing just didn’t want to end. I had about twelve thousand words of the beginning and three thousand of the end done when I sat down yesterday afternoon. But to tie them together I figured I’d need another six or seven thousand words. Which was impossible in the time remaining. So I scrapped the three thousand of the end and added a couple of thousand to the beginning and put it to bed.

The stupid story was originally only meant to be about 2 LIT pages anyway (7000 words) and here it was twice that! Almost 20 little ralphie stories long!

Then when I submitted it the damn thing leaked over onto a fifth page. And the only thing on the fifth page were the words THE END and a plea for votes. And I had no time to adjust it! That'll help my vote and comment totals  It was a real piss off.

But it’s a huge relief to get the voices of the two heroines of the story out of my head. They’ve been driving me crazy for over two weeks. They turned out completely different than I’d imagined and planned them. They did things and said things that were completely contrary to the original story plan. Yak, yak, yak! On the beach, in the gym, even while I was eating dinner. I just couldn’t shut them up.

The even woke me up last night after I’d put the story (and myself) to bed. Well girls - you’re history now!

Sperm is GOOD for you??

Since scouries is the only one actually entered in the AIR contest, I wonder who will win. The rest of the stories he says are entered are actually stories stolen from the Real contest, minus the people he doesn't like or stories in categories he doesn't like. Funny how that works.

Hug A Tree and Save A Marriage in the BDSM category is 8,200 words.

Washing Bottles and Cans Topless in the Exhibitionism and Voyeurism category is just short of 13,000 words.

Mom Needs Sons Help to Strip Naked in the Incest category is more than twice as long as your "one" puny little story at 15,000 words.

Ashes to Ashes and Dust to Dust in the Loving Wives category is 13,000 words.

There Was Just Something About Mary in the Mature category posting Monday is more than 10,000 words.

Earth Day is the Name of My Dawg in the Novels categor is just under 10,000 words.

My 14 stories entered in the Earth Day contest, not all have posted, is well over 100,000 words.

My 30 stories entered in the Valentine's contest was 160,000 words.

You're as just as bad with numbers as you are with words, huh, Scouries.

Let me know when you post a million words on Literotica. By then, I'll be up to 10 million words. Okay buddy?

That was actually quite a good lash back. :D

Scouries really seemed so breathy and "oh my gosh" about his one story for this year.

Got mine back from first-reading, and there's no sleepless nights of major rewriting in my future -- just tweaking.

Should have that done and have it off to my nuts-n-bolts editor before the weekend is out, and ready to submit on Monday.

Now the A.I.R. Contest has an entry from #5 to go with the ones from #1, #3 and #4.

C'mon chief, we're only missing you!

I'm submitting mine tonight -- fingers crossed it gets posted in time [wince] Just need to edit really.

I think I've made up for my tamer efforts of late because it's fiiiiilthy. An incest uncle/niece job. I just hope it fits the Earth day theme because it's so loose that it's almost a bit confusing. Was also a bit of a rushed job so hope it's decent...

Good luck all :)

There's no need to fret about your entry going into the contest until the last day, really ( other than the possibility that you might not accumulate enough votes to qualify ) and even then, there's not much reason to worry.

Contrary to the warning in the official thread, stories that are properly marked have even posted and been added to the contest the day after the last of the stories would normally be expected to appear ( probably a mix-up on the backend of the site ) so, I wouldn't worry at all this many days from the deadline.

Who wants to write decent stories, especially about incest? I figure the more indecent, the better. :D

My story relates to incest as a logical extension to the main body of the story. At no stage does it advocate it but it does say that sometimes there are extensions to scenarios that are awkward and difficult. Without a good moral compass we can be taken in by fulfilling other missions. As with everything there are degrees and the boundaries can be fudged.

Oh...mine totally advocates it. :p

I need a title. Not sure "Shut Your Fucking Face, Uncle Fucker" is really in the spirit of Earth Day though, lol.

I'm sure that with your imagination you'll think of something. Mr. Anonymous just commented on mine to say the ending was bad- he needs a touch of your grammar though. Good luck.

Hello scouries,

Just wondering, where do you get these numbers from?

Hello scouries,

Just wondering, where do you get these numbers from?

They are on the Web site's "favoritist authors" list, which, for some unknown reason, is hidden as a "coming soon" feature--and has been for at least half a decade. Go to the home page, find, "Sneak Peek," and click on that. You'll get a listing of "favoritist" authors and stories. In the upper right, there's a click on for "old list," or something like that. It will give you the top 250 authors in terms of being favorited by readers as "favorite author."

The boss is out on the boat with two strippers from Solid Gold so I'll have to answer for him (I have to work on a 90 degree, sunny Saturday!). Click on the link...
