This post really only applies to those versed in the ways of Sonic 2 (Sega Genesis).
Why, in light of the Sonic Compendium released for the GameCube, didn't Sega include their original levels for Sonic 2, namely Hidden Palace Zone? It supposed to be a fairly comprehensive tributre to the 16-bit era. And for my money, HPZ played a BIG part to the mystery behind Sonic 2. After all, what's up with Sound Test 10?
I know I can still play it on my emulators with the beta-rom. But why not have some of the old crew dust off their programming notes from the game and post up conceptual designs in addition to the view-comics options they have? That would be nice.
Or better yet, have them sit down to finish up Sonic 2 as they originally intended (with alternate level-paths to the end, a more fleshed out Death Egg Zone, and HPZ for cripes sake!!!!). That would have been so cool!
Ok, so I'm a Sonic 2 junkie in denial. But had they done that I would have bought a GameCube and the game for that very reason.
