Tell Me About the Movies You Have Seen Recently That Hit You Right In the Heart

Tell me about your favorite movie you've seen recently, APART from erotica and porn! Strictly legit movies you'd take your kids to. But that you know they wouldn't like, if they're under 15. (11, for girls!)

I'll start!

I just finished watching "This Beautiful Fantastic." A Brit rom-com with an actress I have not previously seen, Jessica Findlay Brown. Just the most gorgeous new actress I've seen in ages, and not least of all because she reminds me SO MUCH of my own wife, minus 40 years. So I admit, up front, to a lot of non-objectivity, in this review. And the kid is a legit terrific actress, holding her own on camera with some major British theater talent!

The plot is pretty predictable. Not many surprises, you can see the change-ups coming from a long way away, like a 747 coming in on final approach; but it was all so perfectly done! And the music in this was amazing! If you've got anything resembling a heartbeat at all, you aren't even going to pay attention to the obvious twists and turns, you're going to be caught up in it and along for the ride.

If you watch it, have a box of kleenex handy. Gentlemen, I mean you, too!

Took a chance this week on St Vincent (on Netflix). It’s formulaic, but the formula works. I was just silently crying as it concluded.
