Tallulah's Thread. Fuck yeah.

Just eating some cheese and crackers. Trying to avoid the chocolates!
I've had a handful of Quality street but that's it now. Back to the fruit.

I've gained 3lbs and I will NOT gain any more. I get weighed on Wednesday to see the overall damage - so I'm hoping I drop it to 2lbs or 1lb on official record.

I've enjoyed the food but now I need to focus on making sure I'm happy with my weight/size for April.

I think what is most impressive is that you were willing to go back and review the day again and be willing to adjust the score. Those two things alone make you more mature and realistic than like 99% of adults out there.

Family has invaded here. We always host. Two things that are true at the same time a) I love my extended family and b) I will look for any and all opportunities to go run errands the next few days. Heading to the airport in a few to go pick some friends up.

Morocco, baby!

Riding camels into the Sahara Desert to camp out. Trekking up into the Atlas Mountains to have a homestay with a local family and learn about the women's communities. Exploring Casablanca and Marrakech and more. :nana: :nana:
Very cool!

That sounds like an amazing trip!

I am super excited for it, though I'm a little cautious about the camel thing. I know I'm going to be the one who loses my balance and tumble head first off it as it stands up. I know it.:eek:
I rode on one in Egypt and to be fair it was the getting on/off was the hardest bit. When it stood it was fine. And it was fairly steady paced.

The ship of the desert! What could go wrong?

Wear a scopolamine patch. 🫨

My wife and her wild girlfriends are going to Las Vegas next month to see Def Leppard. They always have these crazy adventures and I only end up learning what happened a year or three later when one of them lets it slip during a party. I love it when they get together!

Well, I think I can safely say that the past 24-36 hours was one of the stupidest, most stressful exits and entrances of an old/new year - with only that one year many years ago where I saw midnight in the ER waiting room as my husband had taken seriously ill and was being assessed, managing to beat it.

While I can find myself being superstitious over certain things, I don't read bad omens into this. Shit happens. And shit happens at the most inconvenient times. Yes, I saw the New Year in last night alone with a can of beer and Forrest Gump.

I don't want to spend time reflecting on last year. It had some tremendously wonderful moments and some truly dark times. And so - time to press on and take paths currently unknown to me.

But for tonight, I'm enjoying the calm after the storm.

We can never pick the time, @Tallulah82... that's why, now that my children are grown, I prefer working on holidays. People come in feeling badly enough because they're feeling so awful, and the stress just compounds because it's a holiday. It's a wonderful opportunity to connect with our patients and their families, giving them a little extra love.

I wish you a better year to come and speedy healing for MrTallulah. 😘

My apologies! I have written that badly...

Mr Tal is fine. Well, he wasn't yesterday but not hospital bad. I was comparing last night to that hospital night that happened years ago.

My god, I'd have been rocking in the corner today if THAT had happened on top of everything else. :ROFLMAO:

I'm delighted to hear that all is well. What a crazy ride this is! Up one minute, sideways the next, zooming all over in our mad modern lives!

Peace! I bid you peace and quiet. And cuddles.
