suggestions, pretty please...

Skye, I'm going to ask you something, and it may not seem to make a lot of sense but bear with me...

Do you snore? I snore, and a few years ago started feeling tired all the time no matter how much sleep I got, plus depressed. Turns out I had sleep apnea

Here are a few more links:
American Sleep Apnea Association
NIH article

List of symptoms
What are the symptoms?

The symptoms of OSA [obstructive sleep apnea] develop gradually whereas the symptoms of central sleep apnea may develop suddenly. You may not be the first one to notice you have sleep apnea — it may be a partner or family member who informs you.

Symptoms of both types include:
  • Restless sleep
  • Daytime sleepiness
  • Poor memory and concentration
  • Headache in the morning
  • Loud snoring
  • Change in personality (this can include depression)
  • Frequent urination during the night (from your body trying to dump excess carbon dioxide any way it can)
  • Night sweats

There can be other symtoms which you may have that are related to this - weight gain is one - if you don't have enough oxygen your body doesn't metabolize fats, carbohydrates and sugars at the same rate.

((hugs)) I hope you find something to help you, sweetness.
wow, thank you for this.
I do have some small headaches every now and then in the mornings. MY children say when I am very very tired I lightly snore. Thank goodness I don't roar. I don't get up alot in the middle of the night to potty. I do toss and turn quite abit lately. No night sweats. And I have for as long as I can remember been sleepy during the day. I'm talking at least 20 years. Concentration has always been sort of well, blah. Even as a teen in highschool I could sleep and sleep and sleep. It's never changed.
But this also gives me lots to think about. Thank you so much, sweetheart. I promise to look into it! :rose:

I can empathize with what you were saying about being lonely. I was in my last year of school this past year, and it was damn hard. Lots of deadlines, lots of work (a lot of self-directed study and honors writing) but I had no energy to do it. I was also pretty damn lonely, living in a nice place but felt like I was totally alone. I had friends, a good life, no money troubles, but I still felt awful a lot of the time. Was also smoking too much of the sweet leaf, which scuttled my energy pretty effectively. By the end of the year I was WIPED, and barely felt like I had the energy to do anything.
It seems I have been doing this with work. It's pretty sad when people come up to me and ask me why I'm there all the time. I just tell them it seems that way. I just take pride in my work and this is just starting out ( since November past ) and the bosses want my face and name associated with everything that come out of my shop. So I feel wiped out a lot of the time. I even had a co-worker ask me today how I look so upbeat and cheerful all the time even though I'm so very tired. ( I dunno, you got me on that one. )

Anyway, I moved back home (a lonely stretch of highway next to the ocean, surrounded by my clan) and things have been picking up. I've also been studying alternative medicine with my mother (a doc of natural medicine), in particular acupuncture. I'd recommend checking out alternative/ complimentary medicine, it seems to help a lot of people. From what I've read so far, when you get acupuncture you release a lot of natural painkillers and dopamine within the body, and unblock the energy blockages that occur from various illnesses. When you get sick/injured, it damages the flow of energy from your vital organs to the rest of the body (chinese medicine looks mainly at 12 organs/organ groups, which are responsible for most of the major body functions). When you get acupuncture, it's an attempt to make sure those channels are free and clear of obstructions, improving the way your body works. I actually realized in retrospect my own illness was probably due to my kidney's energy being out of whack, strange as it sounds.
THIS is something I have always wanted to try! I wonder if I can find someone near me to give it a go. Is it painful at first?

Another interesting little thing you should consider is chi kung. I've found some manuals on it over the net, it seems pretty interesting. It's much like tai chi or other slow, flowing exercises that look funny when you do them. While I was a little skepital at first, it works great for building up your own energy, and is very easy to do. It's all based on the premise that by breathing deeply and performing very basic stretches and motions, you actually increase your own energy level, and unblocking some of the blocks that cause illness/tiredness. I've been exploring this for a few weeks and practicing it for about a week now, but I've noticed quite an improvement in my health and feel very energized following my routine. It's something you have to do everyday, but it's more like a moving meditation, and you feel fantastic when done. Anyway, just some thoughts and suggestions, and hope you get back to health soon. Remember, there is no magic bullet for health; you just have to pay attention to it, be mindful of how you feel, and work at getting better. Best of luck.
Wow, I am learning so much from everyone here. Thank you thank you. I'll be starting a lot of new stuff in my life soon. Maybe I can incorporate this into all of it. I love trying new things.

I'm on an upswing, mood-wise, right now. It's been a little since I've really down. It comes in cycles and it's not pretty. Quoll has been my God send.
Thank you, for posting this for me. I hope you and Private Label come in again. :rose: :rose:

I'm feeling a wave of it coming again. I'm trying really hard. I'm going to go back and look into the thread to see the time period between bouts.

I just hate this.

And yeah... I have not taken the tea. :(

Skye hon, just remember that you are not going through this alone.
There are lots of good friends here to help you through this and you know I will always hold your hand.
At least we know it does pass, just focus on that sweety. Look around you, I know you have a few special things at home right now. ;) Just stop and really look at what you have, it helps to bring us back to reality even if only for a little while.
No matter how bad it gets, we will be here for you.

Good Luck my friend :rose:

Yeah and I don't deserve it your friendship. But thank you sweetheart for still being in my life. :rose:

I'm glad to see you posting again.

(not me)
People who purport to be someones friend, who have known them for a long time and yet I keep hearing them say "I didn't know you liked that." or "I didn't know that about you." and I 'm not talking out of the ordinary stuff just basic things you would learn about someone if you were truly interested in them. What the hell have you been doing all this time if you don't know anything about them, I guess this was just an ego boost for you and screw your "friend."

thank you for that. And I understand now.

And yeah coming here and seeing the person here all day and claiming they care and all that, yet don't have the time to talk or make the time and don't even know everything about me. But there are people here who I've only spoken to a couple of months, maybe more, and know more about me than that other person.
I hate being an after thought or someone to be there when they have no one else or they're done playing with others and come looking for me. Or at the end of the day hear 'Love you' and that's it and their gone.
It truly sucks.

I do hope you are feeling better. I couldn't help but notice something in your post. I think there is a big difference between "finding the time" and "making the time." In my experience, the people that make the time are there because they really want to be. The people that find the time are there at their convenience.

But I have to say that it sure looks like you have a lot of friends here. Take care.
Thanks scalywag, Skye has a lot of great friends here, she is a very sweet lady who wears her heart on her sleeve, and has a huge capacity for forgiveness.
Unfortunately the internet is very easy to use to say what you think the other person wants to hear, but as you rightly pointed out those that make the time are your true friends. Even though it is the internet, actions still speak louder than words.

If the world had more people like Skye it would be a much better place for it. She has a way of bringing out the best in people, and I for one am much better for knowing her.

That's a great way of putting it! Thank you!

And the friends I have made here are the most wonderful. I hope you feel the same of those you have made here. They can make it a wonderful place even on the worst of days!
:)

You're one to talk. :p Look at you. Always around helping others and being kind. Smart as hell, too. And cuuute. :D

Thank you for still being a part of my life. Even when I have been fair weathered. :(

I've never heard it ever said that a friendship was all about the good times. All good friendships, no matter how strong, go through their trials from time to time. I told you right from day one, that very first "Non rude PM" that I would always be there for you. Whether it be a helping hand, an ear to bitch in, a shoulder to cry on, or even a foot to kick you in the arse with. Whatever the situation may be you know you can come to me and you won't be turned away. I do hope you're doing well and that you're not letting this thing get the best of you. :rose:

Thank you for this. We all have our days and I'm still fighting it. One day at a time. Some are good and some not so good. But friends like you make the days better. :rose:

Just thought I would drop in and say Hi.

While I was out working in the yard last night just before dark, I noticed through the trees in the backyard several scattered pink/red/orange clouds near the horizon. Made me think of your screen name, then you.
what a lovely thought. Thank you for thinking of me and sending your thoughts here.
And I love the lines in your signature. For some reason too, it reminds me of the song by Creed, Wash away those years.

I hope you stop in more often. :rose:

Hi VSkye,

Have you been checked for sleep apnea? Sorry if this has been covered in your thread previously. Maybe you're not getting quality sleep...
