Random Error when Titling Works

Hey all,

I wrote in the "Help" section of my work one month ago but I've gotten no reply on that or any previous helps, so I'm guessing I'm doing something wrong over there. I figured it would be best to try something out over here.

I'm writing a piece called, "A Scholar's Path to Sainthood Ch. xx" except that is 36 characters long. If you publish, you know the maximum length is 35. Easy fix! I just removed the period and posted just fine. Then a new problem arrived. It published with the period that I had removed. Yay?

Then a new problem. On Chapter 3 and Chapter 7, it published without the period. I'm publishing them with the same naming scheme (for example: "A Scholar's Path to Sainthood Ch 07" because I literally can't put the period in or it would be too many characters), but then it shows up WITH the period.

There's no way for me to edit the titles, and I'm not the one adding the period. As a result, its making my stories appear out of order and looks messy on my display. If 2 out of 8 chapters are doing this, then 25% of my future titles will be randomly rewritten and look even worse. Is there something I can do or someone I can speak to? Again, I filled out the "Help" page on the panel, but it seems useless.

There's no way for me to edit the titles

If it's already published, you can do this and use the Notes field to specify what it is you need changed (extended-length title).

If it's something you're submitting and want it correct before it's published, you can use the Notes field of the story submission form to ask the editor to make the change for you.

She can override the 35 character limit.
