Call for submissions

Call for lesbian cowgirl fiction! Under this Cowgirl's Hat will feature a few good stories, either historical or modern, about cowgirls loving girls. Edited by SA Clements, editor of the popular Locked and Loaded anthology, Under this Cowgirl's Hat will pay $50.00 and trib copy for print and ebook rights for 5 years. Stories should be 10000 to 15000 words in length, and feature lesbian erotica and romance in a cowgirl setting.

Only a few stories will be chosen for this anthology, so do your homework to make it accurate, make it real, and make us sweat! Feel free to query first, though we will make no guarantee that queried manuscripts will receive a spot. Submissions should be sent to submissions@torquerepress.com by June 1, 2007 with "Under this Cowgirl's Hat" in the subject line.

Hey, EroticJames? You do the cowhand stuff, and I'll do the femmeslash. We'll call it "twice the Cowgirl" ;)

As a note, there is one instance that comes to mind. There was a stage coach driver in Arizona who was a closet lesbian who masquarded as a man for years. He drank with the guys, flirted with the women and was generally liked as "one of the boys." It was only discovered he had the wrong plumbing after her death. So, the idea isn't all that far out. Wish I had the time.

Colly wrote several that would have fit perfectly.

*cough* back to the subject- anyone want to write with me? I just can't start researching another era right now, but I sure would like to do all the dust and horse-sweat and starry nights in the Montana highlands...

Well, the map is not the territory, true, and the name is not the thing named, and I am not really a motorcycle.

But I'll play straight man here (another thing that isn't so) and ask you, Charley- what IS the subject, my love?
